- I used my GoPro to film my village cricket match against Bourne Cricket Club. Good to get a few run today after a very lean patch! No the result we wanted but a good performance.

Good knock. My personal favourite moment was the loud and decisive call of ‘NO’ when PJ got clean bowled.
😂
well to be fair there probably wasn’t a run there
🤣🤣🤣🤦🤦🤦
@@canyoucricket Do you know how to type or just spam emotes???? You are not a 1s player and never will be
Thanks Steve 👌
almost all the Bourne batsmen's bats were Kookaburra. I didn't think all that many players outside Australia used them. An Icon as well, a fairly small Aussie manufacturer.
They also currently make a superior ball. *ducks flames*
Nah man, very popular bats in England for sure, at least during age group cricket most of my mates used one because they made decent bats that didn't break your parent's bank balance lol.
Funny how people on the other side of the planet say kookaburra is a small brand, in NZ kookaburra and gray nicholls are the most popular and best brands for most gear.
Nice innings Gareth. Love when you really work the singles early when you arent timing it as well - then the shots naturally come out as you settle - looking forward to seeing a few more of these this season..
🔥🔥🔥
As a fellow South African I can quite proudly say I spent two season at the wonderful Abbey Lawns with Bourne. Such a wonderful club and people. So great watching this, felt like I was back at my second home!
Brilliant! When was that?
Bro thought he could drop the best intro and get away with it💀
Absolutely nailed it at 7:35
Good innings Gareth, hopefully this is a sign of things to come! 🔥
👌👌👌
Good innings man, I did see that you scored a century recently can't wait to see that video!
Hey Gareth great vid! Just wanna say thanks because you’ve really helped me improve with my batting and got some runs finally. Just wanted to say thanks and love all the vids❤❤
Pleasure my friend 🔥
Thank you for inspiring me to start my own cricket channel
What a legend!
Lovely shots thank you for entertaining me and all others
Great innings out there so happy you finnally back nto scoring. Keep going!
❤️❤️❤️
I feel a hundred coming soon Gareth 😊
🔥🔥🔥
Loved the partnership between you and PJ especially the end😂then no after his wicket 😂😂
Well done Gareth, grinding your way back into form.
Good batting by Bourne.
👍👍👍
Just saw the scoreboard of your next match congratulations on your century 🔥waiting for that vudeo
❤️
Good knock Gareth 👍 , also saw the next match and saw the big ton. Looking forward for that video
Thanks!
No matter what beautiful long chased innings mate and beautiful sweep shot😀😃... Keep going mate... always love ur innings from India...
❤️❤️❤️
Good innings mate, really got into your groove through the middle of it when you had the measure of the spinners. Just seemed like there was enough sideways movement to make forcing the pace of scoring hard. Loved your first four, sumptuous shot over mid on.
Great video again, hope the form carries over to next week.
Thanks David 🙏
Great knock gareth, good to see your back into the runs
👌👌👌
Good to see you back among the runs...with that typical Saffa trait of good running between the wicket.
👌👌👌
Great innings Gareth
Just like you I have struggled to score any runs in my first couple of games this season. Because of my studies haven’t been able to practice or play much. My plan today is to just take my time and rotate the strike like you did and eventually the bad ball will come.
👌👌👌
Good video mate, I’ve been showing these to the kids in Ecuador, they want to start the first Ecuadorian cricket club 😂
Amazing! If you set one up maybe I'll come visit 💥
Good Innings Gaz I think this is a sign if your comeback
Some sweeps there Gareth, jheeez
Right! Pinged the one that went for 4 👌
As a play cricket scorecard watcher it wasn’t the innings I expected, looking forward to the next vid!
💥💥💥
Top knock pal, gave the team a chance near the back end!
Unfortunately went out at a bad time!
Good innings👍
Waiting for a Century🔥
Nice to see you find form mate good batting . Unlikely mate but the big one will come
gutsy innings G, good stuff keep it going for next week
Thanks!
Great innings gareth!
Kudos to your team, hard luck for will wright who got out through run out.
Looking forward to your next league match.
Make sure that you display the scoreboard little bit high, so that we enjoy your video by having zoom in option.
👌👌👌
Congrats on getting some runs
Thanks Matt 👌
Bro you have so much control and balance ❤
🙏🙏🙏
good innings sick
What a lovely playing surface...I need some of those grounds in florida...lol
Yes really good one 👍
nice to see you play staight thrue the line.that makes you a better batter!!
👌👌👌
B3 saved from the fire wood pile. Well batted Gareth 🏏
🤣🤣🤣
well batted mate
Love the video’s
Bourne Off Spinner - never seen a spinner bowl SO MANY short balls and not get Carter everywhere! 😂
some serious batting from those Bourne openers
💥💥💥
icc should see this venue for international matches
Man I love watching these while it’s winter for me
2-0 btw
🤣🤣🤣
That final wicket was a great decision by the umpire - both so everybody could go off and get a pint AND it was pad first.
🤣🤣🤣
Great batting
Thanks!
good innings
Thanks!
7:35 anyone else hear a sneaky nick? Lucky snicko wasn’t in use 😂
Almost got the half century.. well batted though gareth. I can sense a 100 coming soon.
NO WAY GARETH IVE JUST CHECKED UR PLAY CRICKET STATS AND SEEN THAT YOU ACTUALLY SCORED A HUNDRED. CONGRATSSSS. I CANT BELIEVE I ACTUALLY PREDICTED IT (KIND OF).
🤣🤣❤️❤️🙏🙏
Well batted you and PJ 🇱🇰
Thanks Primesh 👌
Just scored 25, high score, all thanks to you!
Well done! 🔥
Took up too many balls early on which cost the run rate to go through the roof. Tell your bowlers to learn a slower ball surely
👌👌👌
Yes gazza
Thanks Shevan 💥
Proper Cricket.
You need to work on scoring more quickly and target the first two balls of an over to relieve pressure. Especially if the starting rate is close to six an over
Imo I would rather play bat on ball for the first 2 overs to get used to it then maybe take more risks.
Top 3!!
Can you hit a few juicy ones against spin by getting to the pitch of the ball at the start and then keep taking singles to keep the scoreboard ticking and then go all out. This way you can construct a good innings
👌👌👌
Congrats gareth but i thing 1 match you should use bumberry bat or what its name is i forgot it sorry
Good to be back in the runs! BTW, what happened on that last wicket? Was the umpire tired?
Was a great decision... Pad first.
It's a shame you got out when you did, started very slow but was just starting to get going!
Yes a really bad time to get out 👌
decent knock...told you you would be OK!,
Thanks Martin 👌
U and Jayawardene always have good chemistry and partnership with each other.....!
Love batting with PJ 🙏
I like your technique
🙏🙏🙏
That appeal was just like the Nasser Hussain incident where Nasser actually had hit the ball and Steve Bucknor (umpire) gave it out m stupidly 🤔
i love you because
1. i support csk and you look like devon conway
2.nice and controlled
❤️❤️❤️
The thing i dislike about bourne is that the swimming pool is at the back of the ground and you watch people walking through to the swimming pool to cool off and you're stood in the field hot and sweaty wishing it was you going to the pool 😂😂😂
🤣🤣👌👌
Quick tip, I don't know if it's the positioning of the GoPro or your head but you're quite tilted. If it is your head, you've got an easy fix to your timing problem if you correct your head positioning to level.
👌👌👌
Couple of very suspect decisions there, particularly that last one!
good stuff
also is the other team all sponsored by kooka
😅🤣
One of them works for Kookaburra 👌
That last wicket is a stinker
👌👌👌
That last wicket was soooooooooooooooo dog, it literally hit the bat! The umpire is genuinely blind and deaf. That's all i have to say. But good innings broski
@ 2:20 casually cutting a YORKER for two to bring up a 50
👌👌👌
the bourne team used kookaburra bats only
First, representing the patreon gang
Boom!
What 6 days ago and 5 days ago😮😮
@Zain Ahmad yea I’m a patreon and get the videos early, Gareth mentions becoming a patreon at the start of each video 👍
@@muhammad_gamez yea I’m a patreon and get the videos early, Gareth mentions becoming a patreon at the start of each video 👍
30 years ago, if I was bowling at a batsman wearing a bloody camera on his head, my soul mission in life would be to knock it off. Nothing else in the world would matter, least of all the "context of the game"!
We’ll batted Gareth lad
Thanks 🙏
Does he reply??🐐🐐
Yes he does 😎
PJ plays spin really well and I think his origin is one of the asian countries
jayawardene is a sri lankan name
How r the batsmen batting on both sides of the pitch
Can you tell me the name of the background music at the start of the video ? Thank you.
Not sure of the name but got it from Artist.io 👌
What was that umpiring
Chick my bating 😊😊😊😊

❣️❣️🇳🇵
Is it just me or is there a nick at 7:36? Sure i can hear something
I heard 3 quick sounds. To me pitch bat gloves so yeah I hear it
My thought too when I watched it first and then on replay it’s even more obvious! Maybe back pad?
Pitch looked very green, would it still be a good batting pitch?
Had a green tinge but was still lovely to bat on 👌
@@canyoucricket 👍🏻
Didn’t put me and my mate cheering into the camera😂
🤣🤣🤣
@@canyoucricketdid you see the footage 😅 thought we’d make it aha
Unfortunately not! Must have missed it 🙄
Is Will an RVC lad?
Kookaburra sale on in Bourne or something?
One of the team works there 👌
Very few of WSpa or anyone in your videos seem to have any power. Some have timing. Some have neither.
Makes for a struggle to hit boundaries or get a move on thru a run chase
Yes we don't have many power hitter besides Carter 👍
were they a whole team of kookuburra users?
Pretty much 🤣
God, it’s hard to differentiate between the Bourne batsmen, they all are wearing the same kit
I think one of the team works for Kookaburra 👌
Your spinners are not at all even club level except PJ also you have change your game. At least run a ball is nice for you and your team, you are consuming so many balls because of that your batting partners are in pressure
Out of 50 overs how many overs were of spin??
Felt like 40 overs were from spinners only lol
Yes spin heavy attack 👌
Why do the opposition all use the same kookaburra with pink handle? Seems a little suspect to me
One of the team works for Kookaburra 👌
Great innings Gareth, however it seems to me you come down the wicket a tad early. Try coming down the wicket when bowler is about to release the ball, you will be able to hit out of the park
Thanks for the advice. Will give it a go 😁
Bro I lbw on flick short what can I do
what line are you trying to flick off of? it might be better to play it straight
The openers are sitting on the crease, only transferring their weight at the last minuet...
This is skill based, no question. But, this is poor bowling.
Dropping your length slightly shorter is something your bowlers should practice... I've been there, it's Not easy, but a Learned skill... If batters Have a trigger like that, it can lead to runs, But it can lead Also to their Wicket..."how are you getting that batter out" Needs to be Every bowlers plan...If you're not sure, line and length. If they show Their Plan...That Must be Your plan as a bowler...Great video for Cricket lovers as usual...
👏👏👏👌👌👌
Last wicket wasn't out. It was clearly bat first
👍👍👍
What league is this?

Jesus there is some amount of arseholery in this comments section.
Thank you for your content, Gareth - always enjoyable, whether or not you are in form.
The comments critiquing Gareth's batting may not be about saying how wonderful he is, but the comments are 100% correct in what they are saying.
@@kerryobrien71 that's entirely possible, but I think he's a decent enough cricketer to be aware of his basic technique and any attendant issues - I just don't find the tone of some of the comments particularly constructive/positive/collegial/necessary.
' Everyone's a critic'/'opinions are like arseholes' etc...
@@irishwatchenthusiast6647 agree with your thoughts/sentiment, and like the support you provide the channel. But this is a source of entertainment/engagement for viewers with cricket more broadly. Many viewers will be thinking about the players around Gareth and the team success, and how he contributes to that team performance rather than just his number of runs on the day (runs don't matter if you run out of overs/balls and fall short of run chase). I subscribed to Gareth's channel from the first day he played with helmet cam and loved the concept, he has nearly 100,000 subscribers which is amazing and this is now his business/commercial enterprise.
But I unsubscribed at the very end of last season (Octoberish last year after some social invited matches) because it was a tad frustrating watching him play 2 shots (pull shot, and straight drive) no matter what the line or length of ball was, and he was often taking a lot of balls to score runs once he was playing against better teams.
If you look at the players around him on that team, they know how to push shots into gaps to keep the runs flowing, and don't just play big shots straight and towards square leg. It doesn't require a lot of time and coaching to be able to do that, in fact 2 net practices and 1-2 games should see that sort of simple thing easily integrated into game.
Again, like your perspective and watching this sort of content, but I can understand viewers perspectives on his batting given the context of a team game and viewers putting themselves in the shoes of the rest of the players on the team.
