I'm so happy with this upgrade I've done to my chibi sprites. Btw, I've been working on this video since January so I've gotten extremely used to seeing this new chibi face paired with my voice. But I'm fully aware that it will take some of y'all time to get used to it. I'm just very glad that now that I'm in a safe place, I can truly focus on putting out good videos. I've been meaning to change my video making process for a few years now. The only downside to this upgrade is that it's gonna require more time to make a video. But I wanna prioritize quality over quantity 😌

As a fan of Omegaverse and someone with a sweet tooth, I see this as an absolute win.
Like what if there's a cake who's a pastry chef and he wants his fancy restaurant to be the next big 5 star Michelin. His fork is a food critic like Anton Ego, who makes restaurants go out of business since he can't taste anything. It might be an intense romance thriller since the fork in this situation built his status as a critic on a lie (He can't taste anything therefore all the past restaurants he got to close down was not because they were bad, but because he can't taste and smell anything. Also maybe in this universe, forks aren't allowed to be food critics but this guy tricked the system..

AUs with silly rules are actually great for writers because the rules give you a starting point and the silliness makes it feel safe enough that you dare to play around. Artists are usually their own worst critics so making things feel low-stakes with silly games is a great way of overcoming that!

Just made one up: Piercing verse, where there are ears, ear piercers, and the earrings. In essence: Ear piercers wanna bang ears without an open earring hole, and can tell apart those from a crowd, and earrings wanna bang “pierced ears” (ears just banged by ear piercers). All of them can do the weird smelling thing, and tell whenever an ear is “ripe” for their role. Ears hormone smelling powers changes depending on their status. I know, hold your applause.

Gotta say, Plugverse sounds really good. Here's my take:
After reaching a certain point in their life (lets say 18 years old 'cause safety first and because I'm tired of preteen/teen romance) Plugs become apathetic, lacking energy or even the will to live a normal life, often becoming withdrawn, depressed, pessimistic and/or in extreme cases...well, big sad unexist themselves slowly. That is until they find their Sockets, people who are not exactly always happy but have a harmonious, overall positive aura around themselves (it could be that they are very active, dreamers, hopeful, entrepreneurs, positive people, etc) and these characteristics (although an specific one is the best) attracts them wishing to pursue them so they can feel alive and/or happy again as the Sockets help them.
But also in the Plugverse I would like to add the Power Strips and these are people that are like the betas, they can provide what a Socket can but since its not the "power/energy source" its effects while still effective, dont compare to finding a Socket although it is possible for Plugs to find their happiness and regain hope again due to how versatile the Power Strips are since they adapt to all kinds unlike Sockets who only can provide this "energy" to an specific Plug.
Edit: I forgot to add this important bit.
The energy source that Plugs need is not only offered through, ahem, loving fun time in the bedroom, but its more effective through emotion and understanding, a deep emotional connection. Almost magnetic but only when they get to know each other.

As a gay guy in real life, a lot of BL comes off as very silly to me hahah. Maybe the hardcore fans of those genres (that are mostly straight women) don't want to hear that? It's fun to read them, but the cake one just seems like it fits in with the silliness of the majority of the rest, especially the omegaverse one. I'm not saying they're bad, but people shouldn't think so seriously about it hahah

I dont hate omegaverse, or anything, but IT IS one of the WEIRDEST genres out there. Not my fave, but there are on or two fics that are interesting. I think BL fills a need, because we DO NOT live in very "romantic" times. There are 4-5 different kinds of female fans for BL as well. Some fans objectify, some have a fetisch....and some just is either in it "for the romance", because a lot of men are just all about the "boom chicka wow wow" (cant say "that" word HERE), and care VERY LITTLE about well...ANYTHING ELSE...for them the "boom chicka wow wow" is "end game"/the main course. For girls, EVERYTHING is "the main course", even the non-BCWW things. THOSE PESKY THINGS CALLED FEELINGS YKNOW? YEAH. A lot of gay culture is oversexualized in general, from what I feel. But I understand WHY of course, because, history. If I was gay back then, Id probs do the same thing. I get that it WOULD seem unrealistic, IN RL, but this is bl, a separate genre from the "male emotional minimalism" thats always encouraged. Oh yeah. (Note to self; "learn how to fit human in a sardine-box".) But yeah, some bl are more ridiculous than others, thats true. Straight harem shows like "Love Hina" are quite ridiculous too. And I REALLY didnt need to know that that dude in "Air Gear" needs to take off all his clothes to do "no. 2" IN PUBLIC. But whatever, its entertaining.
I like Cakeverse to some extent. I see it going far into the horror BL genre, and I would be down to see how a story like that unfolds. But I also unironically like Plugverse better?? LOL

I feel like needle verse , plug verse is actually kinda cute . I know you meant it ironically and not seriously. But I think that in needleverse the string wouldn't fit every needle because of the width just like irl . So hence it would make sense if strings avoided needles who are incompatible or more likely to be friends rather than dating. I think it would expropriation of the plutonic nature of needle and strings who are not a fit for each other and shows how you can still be friends. Because in most omegavrise ive noticed its next to impossible to have a plutonic relationship . The plug verse could also be metaphorical and be in a sense of physical contact rather than just intercourse.
I think the most based opinion to have is to admit the concept is funny and ridiculous, but also that it is possible to have interesting stories around it.

@@Croisions i'm not entirely familiar with it, but i think guideverse is where there are sentinels/espers, guides, and just normal people. sentinels are basically people with superpowers or supernatural abilities, but these sentinels can overload or lose control and themselves and their powers can become dangerous if not stabilized. guides can stabilize and, well, guide these sentinels so they don't overload, usually by physical touch. i think the more intense the touch, the more it stabilizes them (e.g, seggs is more effective then hugging). also the effectiveness depends on the compatibility of the guide and sentinel. there's also a ranking system that ranks how powerful the sentinel is and how skilled the guide is; high ranked sentinels will get matched with high ranked guides. hope this makes sense?

All this talk about sub-genres and "-verses" reminded me of "color rush", where people are also divided into groups of those who cant see colors, and those who help them see it. But they actually go into the serious part of addiction to a person that makes you feel something important, losing control and hurting someone over desire for this experience.

I love omegaverse! (´∩｡• ᵕ •｡∩`) Its often a case for pheromones smelling like sweets for omegas or even alphas. I read a Cakeverse and while I don't think it's going to touch deeply on cannibalistic stuff it did mention at the beginning some cakes were being murdered by forks so that was interesting. I would definitely love to read a Cakeverse more focused on the cannibalistic side, maybe a police/detective type of setting? Or maybe I should just make it myself because it's gonna be years before I get something like that💀
Honestly, cakeverse sounds like a more softcore and vanilla version of omegaverse. From your description in the video, there's no kinks or BDSM eliments (such as biting or knotting or heats) in cakeverse.
Whilst I do enjoy omegaverse because it has a lot of my kinks involved in it from the get go (guaranteed a fun time), I'll probably give cakeverse a go when I'm in my less kinky moods (the cake on the cover of Strawberry Melt looks so cute!)
With the amount of time it's taken for omegaverse to get official English releases, it might be a while until we get a cakeverse English release (if the genre survives that long or if Seven Seas Entertainment feels adventurous enough).

To be fair, the bl genre has always been ridden with toxicity. Its kind of... a thing for some reason. So really a genre where one is fully dependent on the other honestly fits like right into the mold

I think this concept is interesting if it wasn’t a whole society and just like the one person and if the roles weren’t so tied to just topping and bottoming as if that’s the only way gay people can have sex (I say as a stone top lol). I also just prefer when in stories it’s about more the person’s individual tastes(heh) rather then some mystical force/biology that makes someone be interested in certain dynamics and roles in relationships. I’m more interested when the typical roles in these verses are subverted and that shows it is less that force and more sociological ideals similar to how in real life roles are assigned in straight relationships that are considered by many to be biological though they are not the case.
Back to cakeverse I’m someone who enjoys vampirsm and the metaphor of devoring someone in terms of obsession and devotion so the actual concept of someone only tasting other humans is interesting to me.
