Here, in this ghazal penned by Nasir Kazmi Saab, the great Mehdi Hassan Saab had displayed in no uncertain terms his worth in rendering pathos in his soulful voice ! It was as if the beautiful kalam of the Shayar had found life in the mellifluous voice of the great Khan Saab !The only regret is that the audience seemed to be completely oblivious of its actual worth since they appeared to be restive and not patient as the situation at the given point of time under the given circumstances warranted ! In this way, the ambience required for this solemn occasion was impacted adversely ! Not withstanding, Quadrethejutt Saab deserves unequivocal appreciation from all discerning music lovers for uploading this wonderful treat ! Mehdi Hassan will not come to this world again but he will never die as he lives in people's hearts. His rehearsals were from evening to morning and many times 24 hrs. He reinvented ghazals, he had control over his voice like no one ever had, you could notice in many of his ghazals that he would stop during his singing and start talking and then switch back to singing, he had rhythm he was the only one in the world and he will not come back for sure, his voice was perfect for any type of singing but no one ever had this voice for ghazal singing and the way he did his PhDs in ghazals ne became legend.....! Now where has lover went ceasing all happiness, a stranger who once shared my grief, my heart longs and cries for that stranger. Nasir Kazmi has successfully put (बीरह) seperation in words and Mehdi Hasan has successfully given voice to those lyrics। His voice has managed to tickle those parts of my heart whom I thought as dead. Impeccable, both legends. 🌺

What a soulful and heart - rending performance it was from the Shahenshah - e - Ghazal ! What a wonderful feeling it has been ! I have enjoyed it to the maximum ! "Bahut Hi Chain Mila !" But what really pained me was the fact that the ambience required for such a solemn performance was spoiled in its entirety by the notoriety of an altogether unruly audience ! What a great misfortune it was ! Did they actually comprehend the meaning of this beautiful ghazal in letter and spirit ! How disrespectful they were to the great Mehdi Hassan Saab !
