My friend took the January SAT the Monday after, and then she took the March SAT on the actual Saturday and she said it was the same exact test that they used.

cheating the old fashion way got my friend's score omitted because some kid cheated off him without him noticing. The teacher caught the kid and omitted both their tests.

Yes but you won’t need many formulas, so it’s quite useless to spend the time programming your calculator.

Dying cuz #2 is exactly what happened with thousands of people who wrote the test last Saturday.

The March 10 International test was the same as the US March 7 test this year. Three days.
I took the SAT in December 2017 and half of the reading section was the same in June 2018
One time on my SAT when my teacher caught me going back through other questions she gave me a warning to not do it again. A few minutes later I try to avoid it and make sure I see that my other teacher doesn’t see it but then she caught me and she comes up to me and yells at me and saying that my SAT exam is canceled and she has to report to the instructor and I was kicked out of the SAT testing during that day so I guess no more cheating on the SAT.
stressing so hard over my SAT, this gave me a good laugh!
I took a chemistry subject test in october 2015 and I retook it in december 2016 and it was recycled.....luckily bc of that I did much better! :P

When I was in highschool (I graduated in ‘14) I heard of people putting chapstick on the lines which mark a question wrong. When the machine goes over the answers, no mistakes show up!
The MCAT is insane! They even take a picture of the vein in your palm. If the SAT took a page from the MCAT (pun intended) most of these issues would be gone!

Got a 1340 on my first attempt. Now aiming for a 1500... I NEED to get a good score (my real problem is with the Reading and the Writing sections)

In theory, the results of the SAT test are supposed to only indicate how well that person will do in college. If someone cheats, and then that person is accepted to a higher University that they are not prepared for, they will unperform or will fail.
If that person does indeed complete a degree at the higher university (that they cheated to get into) then it could be argued that the students true results of the SAT are irrelevant because the SAT was only supposed to provide an indication of how well they would perform at that University.
Almost no one really believes the stated purpose of the SAT test which is why many would cheat if they could.
Actually, not all Chinese students have to go abroad to take SAT... The school I'm currently in, Shanghai SMIC School, has the authorization to let their students take SAT, SAT2, and AP in-school for years of honesty.

lol, you would be surprised at how easy it is to cheat on this exam...
I personally didn’t cheat, but when I took the exam last May I caught like 2-4 people in the room cheating.
Typically in the rooms u take the test in, the desks aren’t that spread apart and the classrooms are small.
If the proctors catch you cheating, ur either really screwed or not screwed at all. This is because most proctors get paid so little they could care less about a kid cheating in an exam. Also, the trouble they would have to go through when reporting the kid isn’t worth their time since most proctors actually aren’t even paid for it.

These schemes can be so elaborate that studying would just be easier
What about morse code transmitters. They use that in casinos. Set up a metal prong on your leg, under your pants, that is connected to a transmitter. Where someone else can transmit you the answers through morse code. And if there's confusion you can also use morse code to transmit the question to them.

I had ordered for the student report service and I didn't know that we would actually receive the test trough mail! I haven't received anything yet, what am I supposed to do now? I took the SAT this January-2017

Hey Brooke, I got the Student Answer Service...but it doesn't have a question paper! Its just a sheet showing the question numbers of where I went wrong and the difficulty.
I've done the FCE and the security is outstandingly stupid, they ask you for ID signature, you cant use some pens and in between sections (after the reading and UOE there's a 40 min break) you cant use your phone nor acces your backpack or get your coat
I did hear about girls in a neighboring school who cheated by writing down questions on their tickets, and in the break, they exchange answers.. In the story I heard, apparently a supervisor thought they were suspicious, and went over to ask for ID and tickets, but they showed his the clean side or something? I don't know, I'm just confused by how people have time to think about cheating, you could very well ace the test by studying in the time you plan a scheme...

the gao kao is actually harder. I took it as a practice and it felt much much worse but it may just be my not super skillful chinese
this is actually the funniest comment ever; totally not that literally one test determines what college they go to. (no GPA, no extracurriculars.etc)

I don't know about the Sat, but the problem with cheating the number 5 way is that they'll give the person next to you the test, but the questions will be in a different order.

Broke Poor Asian Kid The college board is testing out new test material for future exams. That used to do so at a few select locations, but it looks like the practice is now becoming very widespread
You can find someone that takes SAT in hongkong and get the answer, and use in us, because the time of the test taking is different, my friend did that before.

I was like finally I found it! before my brain could process the topic, my fingers clicked.
the id checks are so bad..i look nothing like my freshman id pic .-.
I remember the answers were linked on Twitter and it was a bunch of students on their phones cheating whenever the test administrator would play on the computer or on their phone
I'd rather study for SAT then taking this huge amount of risk.

Tbh my teacher was cool for me to cheat step 5. She saw me once looking over and I giving answer to the whole classroom.
Method #6 I call spoofing. That is I sent my great scores to the colleges I want to get into using my fancy printer to look like the official score notification.

I accidentally cheated on elementary why just looking around the room trying to think. I saw this smart kids response to a question I needed help on and I could not erase his answer from my head. I mean I dont really think it was cheating because his answer did make since after checking it in my head. So ye. God bless

Has anybody seen the Thailand movie, Bad Genius? It was this girl who made cheating a business during SATs and I think she might be referring it to this. It was a good movie😂
the college board definitely does recycle questions, particularly multiple choice questions. they have a strict policy on not talking about the mc content for that very purpose.

I get it to a certain extent. Sometimes it's like if I'm working extra hard to study and do a test, then someone else can just come in and get the same score I did w/o even trying is frustrating.
