Been missing these Ultimate Universe reviews, despite how much it clearly tears Smokey from the inside
Personally I think they should have set up the Sinister Six better, and give a deeper relationship between Peter and Norman/Otto.
Hell it wasn't even a real Sinister Six.
But the Voice Acting, damn... nice

Yeah this series started the Kraven Mutating himself thing, in the main comics he’s always used these potions that give him strength, speed, agility, senses and endurance comparable to a big cat like lion, so much stronger than a normal human, but not nearly as strong or as fast as Spider-Man which honestly makes him cooler to me that he’s not at Spidey’s level, but he still poses a big threat to him
When I first read this saga years ago I was baffled at how the art style was so different from the rest of ultimate Spider-Man’s. Thought it was ugly at first but after a while it really grew on me and ultimately I’m glad they made it this way for these issues
I like it personally. A more serious art style 4 a much more serious event.

they later made spider man and I think the X men return because they were the 2 best selling of the series.

Ultimate Universe Smokey just hits different, happy to see you return to one of the ONLY good things to come out of the Ultimate universe.
You know you think that Peter is stupid taking his mask off while going to the White House, it’s interesting on Kraven turning into a animal like man similar to the Spectacular Spider-Man counterpart, I’m not keen on the idea that the Green goblin is a hulk like monster instead of a man in a costume and I think the sixth and final member should have been Lizard, Rhino or Harry as the Hobgoblin all though I prefer the Roderick Kingsley version of the Hobgoblin also I like that the villains are hiding out in a beach house
Honestly, the art is what stands out here, the couple of pages by Joe Quesada with that gorgeous color work in the first issue especially.
Of course they fucking have Doc Ock near his arms.
Kraven's schtick has always been voodoo potions or mystical herbs. Technically, he's as powerful, skilled and deadly as the Black Panther, without, you know, the Vibranium suit. The reason other adaptations tend to buff him up is that in the 60s, when people honestly thought a Tiger was a threat to Ben Grimm (Dr. Doom's first appearance) and the strength of a Gorilla was unmatched by humans (literally all of DC comics since the beginning of time itself), a dude who drank mystical steroid tea and had the strength of 'a wild animal' was considered to be a match for Spider-Man. When the 80s came around, and someone invented science, they realized that the strength of a bear or a lion was essentially 'the strength of an angered toddler' when compared to Spider-Man's 'Brock Lesnar, but if he took like, his own body weight in steroids and PCP'. And without the 40+ year LEGACY of Kraven's experiences and long running feud with Spider-Man carrying him (something like 80% of Batman's villains also have, because most of them in a vacuum would crap the bed if introduced today), his 'enhanced senses and animal-like strength' would mean nothing compared to Spidey's 'Can deadlift a bulldozer' strength.
So, modern adaptations will make him a were-creature, born of science (because a theme of Spider-Man is Science-Based Villains, which Kraven was a departure from with his voodoo herbs), and give him enhanced attributes to fit in with the other animal-enhanced Spider-Villains, like Rhino and Scorpion. In a vacuum, in the Ultimate Universe/MCAU, Kraven being strong enough to wrestle a lion makes him PROVABLY too weak to even hurt Spider-Man. He NEEDS his (by now 60 year) legacy status to pose a threat to Spider-Man in a fight, because now we know that 'able to lift ten tons' means 'stronger than any land animal by an unfathomable margin'.
Kraven classic, introduced today, would be a TERRIFIC threat to Daredevil, Iron Fist, Black Panther, White Tiger, Moon Knight, even Captain America (616. 1610 would break his arms and beat him with them).. etc. Marvel's Batman analogues, the 'technically non-powered people', who now have to contend with someone with animal-like senses and strength, but would make him basically fodder against Spider-Man, or Darkhawk, or anyone with that level of strength and resilience. And I guess writers have realized it's REALLY hard to sell 'Big Game Hunter' in a post 1990s world, where his only powers are 'pushups and steroids', as a threat to someone as powerful as Spider-Man.

Yeah i am not a fan of the artwork for Ultimate Spider-Man vs ultimate sinister six storyline it doesn't look great and honestly even after reading this story a very long time ago I still maintained this artwork for this story isn't great but just really bad at least in my opinion.
