Thanks for showing this How I'd love two horses and a wagon. I remember seeing them as a kid around Essex late 60s early 70's thought they were just part of the scenery and would be around forever, but how times have changed, so rare and almost gone. hats off to your uncle and everyone else who keeps these lovely ol things going..!
cheers mate
its very rare that you get an insite into this type of restoration from start to finish and to see the depth of the restoration its been a pleasure to film these videos
Amazing. Love nice old wagons!
That's so fascinating and so great that it has been preserved. Great videos Ruben, I will be watching more. Thank you.
thanks like and subscribe its means a lot cheers
Lovely to see it in such good hands. And with the same ethos of retaining everything that can be that I apply to all my restoration work. Looking forward to seeing this very special wagon given the work it deserves.
cheers for the watch mate plenty more to come
I have followed your site now for a long while, this project is going to be fascinating to watch a true craftsman restore a very important part of wagon/travelling culture. Keep up recording these very interesting videos. Thanks Reubin.

Years ago I visited Peter Ingram at seaborne & he had a old brush wagon I know he never got around to restoring it &sold it on , Is this the same wagon ?

New member to your channel.
This was a pure pleasure to watch .
cheers mush there will be an update on friday! i try keep regular videos weekly!
Now there's a real talent: turning nostalgia into legacy. Just found your channel recently and the work is just masterful to say the least.
i just have the camera not the brush but lucky to have the privilege to film the process
@@reubenleveridge5175 True enough, but I'd never see it without your work, and your uncle's level of skill is rare. I seriously doubt you're idle on your own. Thanks for the window into your world.
@@astrogypsy no prob
The brush wagon is really like a general store on wheels, this is going to be a masterpiece once uncle John has worked his magic restoring the brush wagon...
That's one hell of a wagon really nice
cheers mate will be a nice thing when its done
I'd love to know what wood is used in what bits, the time it was built was the pinnacle of understanding the uses of each timber rather than just buying speed grown ,straight as a rail stuff .
Can you get any shots of the wood after stripdown but before undercoat to show off the joinery and grain of the original stuff?
And how much does it weigh? You'd want a Drag beam for anything uphill wouldn't you?!
fully loaded yes thats why theres a tracer on it is 11 foot high structure is ash carvings normally in lime pine interior on this one sometimes hardwood interiors we think 1880s very early wagon
Brilliant to see
cheers mush
Boys you should film the whole thing and time lapse it. Beginning to end. Love watching this.
Good idea
@@reubenleveridge5175 Reuben honestly mate just on UA-cam searching a video that is labelled time lapse is always watched more even by someone just flicking through. Good luck mate absolutely love the videos my grandmother was raised in a wagon so I have a massive soft spot for em. All the best mate.
