I'm impressed it did such a great job. Had you not done this video I'm pretty sure I wouldn't even look at one. Maybe they just did get it right with chainsaws.
That looks good.. but I must admit I would miss the sound of the old gas powered saw echoing in the hills.. Especially in the early spring with trimming, fog, cold weather, hot coffee and comrades.. There is just something about that time that makes me reflective and appreciative. Carry on brother!
I love my Milwaukee M18 12 amper chainsaw. It absolutely thrashes through oak and keeps up with my gas Stihl and Husqvarna. The bad thing is the batteries are $200 a pop.
My best bud is a heavy equipment operator who builds logging roads for 25years. He drives at least an hour off road every day to the site. He has carried an electric chain saw with him for 3years. It uses the same battery and charger as his impact gun, grease gun that he uses for maintenance every day. He says he will never carry a gas saw and fuel again. The performance is beyond surprising.
I have one that uses the battery platform I already have, and I really like it for storm clean-up. It makes it faster and easier than I originally thought it would.
Nice outfit ! Beats yanking on a cord wearing out your shoulder, or trying to keep up with an extension cord. Some of those chunks of wood would look good turned out on a lathe.
@@FarpointFarms Cool! Couple pieces down at the usual end of driveway drop off spot will work, I’ll see what I could do with them. Hope you have had a chance to look at the cyclekart frame plans, getting ideas for future projects
I have the modern 10 inch Ryobi 18 volt, it's impressive for its size. I cut down a couple decent sized trees with it, and the battery life is very good.
I was definitely surprised with the results. But I can’t make the switch from gas. My old girl is just too reliable.
And she stinks perty too.
Exhaust fumes can drive the ladies crazy- My wife hates when I smell like exhaust
Can we have a moment of silence for peach cobbler please..
Amen, that was a great producing tree. We made peach jam every year with it.

I had an older 18v (like 15 years old) and it is nothing like this. I would have gotten rid of the gas one long ago

Fair enough! My neighbors do enough with the gas saws that i will still hear it
@@FarpointFarms great sound in the morning eh? I love it myself..

The battery is almost as much as the tool. That is where they get you
@@FarpointFarms yes sir. I bought it back in 2019 and those batteries were $100 then. Now they're double.
I had a Green works for years. They feel like a toy! No problems with mine ever.
Those are a good brand, I used a friends once

Technology has come a long way for sure.

I was hesitant about how well it would work, but I was nicely surprised.
Looks like a nice homeowner type saw. Good review.
It would be perfect for the average homeowner, I would not recommend for heavy duty or commercial work

You can have some if you want it. I have a nice burled piece of some type of hardwood.
