This might sound weird but you kept the texture of the bass and the way it rumbles and most just amplify a layer of it and create distortion. Some of the best bass boosting I've heard.
They actually modified the voice with external voice sample and kept the external voice sample at -15 dbs so it doesnt mix with original audio and still give the effect.
