This is my favorite module all time. It really stands out for me.
Lots of modern game designers should learn from Gygax
I absolutely love this adventure. Had a character die 3 times in this one alone.
This adventure was a huge wakeup call in 1e. After playing the Hill Giant module, the Frost Giants absolutely kick your butt.
Rick pulling off the bearded Frost Giant look. Now that's role-playing!
This was a good adventure, and I agree, the logical creature menagerie was cool. My DM sent us 5th level PCs into this (I know, criminally under levelled for this adventure), but the Wand of Passwall the DM had thrown in as random treasure turned this glacier into a 3D travel space. Good times.
GUYS !!! This is so cool, I can hardly believe what I'm hearing !!! All af the points and a bunch more are things I've been puzzling over for years. I know how busy you are but I wish there was time or a way to talk to you guys.
You guys are pretty insightful. Id like to look into stuff you've written
I'm pretty sure these were run as tournament games one G for each day. There was a deliberate design choice for players to have difficulty to proceed to the next day's session (eh teleportation, travel).
The picture of the remorhaz in the Glacial Rift module appears to have somebody's foot its mouth, like it just swallowed somebody.
Good catch!
The Icehole Module!
Just an aside... the word jarl is pronounced "yarl". Mmmkay? "Yarl"!
I know, its petty. But lets be correct. Otherwise, great show!
Also, Steading isn’t pronounced “Steeding”, it’s pronounced as stead is in “homestead.”
It’s funny how the way we pronounced things as children sometimes stays with us into adulthood!
Geoff is pronounced “Jeff.”
Just ask any Geoffrey:)
So true, those teenage mispronunciations stuck through adulthood in many cases but they recall good times and memories.
