XCR 700 Diagnoses FINALLY

- Finally figuring out what the root cause of poor drivability. Took a few trips back and forth from the shop to the lake to find the smoking gun. Whomever I purchased the carbs from had robbed the XCR 700 needles out of the carbs and replaced them with XC 800 twin needles.

I have one as well 2001 XCSP VES.
Take the tank off run new line and the fuel filter in the tank. How are the o rings in the carbs? and possibly the floats.

Where I am in Canada this has been the best winter we’ve had is more years than I can remember. Nice cold temps everyday. Lots of snow. It’s usually the weather you’re describing. Cold snowing the hot and raining, but this year has been great.

XCR 800 had rich issues on some units,mid range in trail or in heavy load conditions would start pukingand dropping needle would cure it

Try using a different set of carbs to see if it's the carbs or if you have a different issue.

Check fuel tank gas line make sure not rotted if your finding debris in the carb. Will cause many issues

Drain wut fuel your using, and put three gallons of mixed fuel at 40:1 !!
