You are a terrific teacher, Jason. Thank you so much for putting your time and energy into showing us your wonderful videos. You are very much appreciated by this Brit.
Thank you so much for these free lessons on UA-cam. I was given a fiddle by a friend last October and it had been around 55 years since I had quit playing violin at 14. I was not sure that I would remember anything, but I typed in How to Play fiddle, and there you were. There was a lesson that was really basic about holding the bow and just bowing practice. I do know how to read music and some of it was still there, but I had never considered the violin as a fun or creative instrument. But thanks to you I started to understand the fiddle is just as creative as a guitar or a banjo if I let go of the orchestra mindset and realized no one was going to give me a bad grade in music if I hit the wrong note or made a mistake. It was a very freeing experience for me. You really have helped me wrap my mind around improvisation and playing double stops and chords. I'm far from a great fiddler but I have played at several Jam Sessions and I think I am getting a bit better everytime. Thank you for this lesson about figuring out the song scale. I ended up being pretty good at it, although I am still a bit weak on the minor scales. You have EXPANDED MY MIND!

For me, the tonic is the note that "completes" the tune, or maybe the note that feels missing if it's not there?
Great insights, thanks for sharing 🙂
