- A short video of my 1st attempt on SSB satellite RS 44 after setting up.
Equipment used in this video.
Yaesu G5500 rotator for elevation only as not yet pc controlled.
Yaesu G1000 rotator for azimuth computer controlled.
Yaesu FT991 RX on 70cm
Yaesu FT857 TX on 2m
Diamond 15 ele Yagi RX
duel band yagi 2/70 3 element for 2m TX.
Ham radio deluxe for sat tracking and azimuth control .
This isn't an ideal set up but it works, using what I already own except for the new G5500 rotator.
Lots of improvements to be made.
Look fun. And Very nice station setup. 73 from Thailand E29AHU
Thank you 😊. 73 .
Is the constant tuning due to Doppler shift? Cool video and shack! 73 de VK2AOE
Thank you , yes the PC software (satpc32) is updating the radios frequency due to Doppler , both tx & rx . Since this video the shack had a few updates, the main one is the 9700. Take care M1MLM 🙂
What a setup for doing satellite work there ben cool. I see you updated to IC-9700 . Only can dream of that set up.
Thank you for the kind words, yes I am very fortunate to have the 9700 and very pleased with it . Its taken me around 4 years to get to where I am now with the satellite setup due to money and time , which makes me appreciate it even more .. thanks again hope to work you some day 73 Ben
Good reception, why is the RX antenna verticali polarized and TX antenna horizontaly polarized ?

Hi ,
having the antenna at different polarisation helps to prevent de-sence when transmitting. If you would like any more info I'm happy to help if I can . Many Thanks Ben 👍
@@benm1mlm846 Thanks for your reply
FB! Where did you get the Az-El rotator?
The rotator was from my local Ham radio shop, Radioworld.co.uk .
👍
@@benm1mlm846 Thanks!
