YES! The top mistakes made video idea sounds incredible! I'm just about to move into my first home (literally within the next week or two!)...it would be so helpful :) xx
Put the rattan arch bookshelf on the brown wall and put some plants, books and other decorative items on it! Will help the other shelves from looking too cluttered too.
for the fireplace, some fun colored/chunky candles would be super cute. I have also seen people turn it into a mini like book storage space and I find that super cute and cozy! Or, just beautiful round pieces of wood!
For the tiny fireplace I'd say either a well fitted painting just leaning against the back, or fairy lights hung from one side from the other repeatedly. And for the radiator I'd suggest looking into radiator covers if you can't upgrade your current one! Apparently they aren't that expensive, and they really clean up the room. You can also put stuff on them to make them look pretty.
PLEASE make the video about 10 mistakes you made when moving into your first home ASAP! We moved in a week ago and it would be super helpful for alot of people like me! ☺️ Love your videos x
"Miss Honey Sheek" 😄 love it! As an SEN teacher my outfits always end up looking like this! Also I love those wicker baskets, they look perfect for storing knick knacks.
Hey Lucy, if you want to keep the radiator but want to freshen up the look, you can buy just the radiator covers (to make it smooth instead of ribbed).
might sound stupid but i was feeling a bit depressed today and when i saw the video i was like yay . thanks for making videos and making youtube a nicer place.
@@sarahharrison3332 ooh that's so sweet of you i'm okay, this year is being challeging that's all , some days you are in a mood and just don't have motivation or energy, i hope you are okay too
@@petinacarvalho2187 It really has been a tough one ! I definitely understand that feeling of not wanting to do anything all too well! I'm doing okay too thankyou :) x
@@emmacondon7028 thank you ❤️❤️❤️ I hope yours is great too ! I’m so happy to know that that you can still find wonderful people online considering how the world looks at the moment .💕
Love the new room...radiator paint would jazz the radiator up and I would paint the fireplace bronze or something similar and whack in some fairy lights (like you said) xxx
I know you'd like to keep it separate from UA-cam but I would absolutely love a video on your process of starting your own business. you've talked about it a bit but going through your initial planning and finding suppliers etc would be super interesting I think!
The room looks SO much bigger now! Have you considered painting the floor white? It would look amazing with the warm tones and wood-elements of the room, and perhaps also give a more cohesive feel of your overall aesthetic ❤️ loved the video, missed you uploading!
Maybe that empty beautiful bookshelf could go on the newly painted wall? With some nice plants, candles, the tortoise lamp and some books it would be lovely! It would be an awesome background for your zoom calls ☺️ Also inside the fireplace you could do a fake plant or dried flower arrangement 😍 It looks great Lucy 💕
Just heard the part where you mentioned the sofa 😅 sooooo nevermind the suggestion about the bookshelf 🙈 Damn! Maybe when you renovate your kitchen down the road that bookshelf may go to where the fridge is 😅
Your little fireplace you could take small sticks of like Birch bundle them together rapper with some fairy lights and then they'd have these beautiful Birch candle holders that would look great like right around the fireplace
Very boring but important safety notice. If the mirror you have e popped on the windowsill is double sided be VERY careful as the sun hitting the mirror can very easily start a fire.
Here are a couple of ideas you probably don't need but... Something to consider is an electric fireplace insert. Yes, they are very fakey looking fires, but surprisingly cozy and can help heat the room (they need to be plugged in like a lamp). Also, maybe you would like to stain those light wood shelving units to a nice brown wood color that would tie in with you accent wall. You could paint them, but it would be nice to preserve the wood grain. 🙂
Woven bookshelf: top could have two soft canvas square totes/baskets, other shelves use lidded boxes with fronts with slide-in labels. Bottom shelf(if room) stack of larger books or a soft cat bed/box for yer floofy office pal.
You're the only UA-camr I watch who I feel like I know, it's probably the Northern-ness, the references to shit and places I actually know, the fact we have the same sense of humour or that we are the same age but I feel like my friends are all Lucy's and I am a Lucy and it's oddly comforting during this strange and isolating time so, thanks for being you Lucy!
Put the big bookshelf against the biscuit wall! You could display the pictures on there that are still on the floor so you have even less floor clutter :)
So lovely to see you back and full of joy. I absolutely love the mirror in your bedroom behind you. Please, please where did you buy it. Stay safe and just to say that I really missed you. Weird I know because we have never met.
Weird comment - jealous of the depth of your windowsill. All of mine are too shallow to put plants on, but yours look perfect. Also, when the living room fridge becomes a kitchen fridge, could the bookcase go down there?
Hi Lucy! An idea for your lovely fireplace would be to add a tall decorative vase with dried flowers inside. Perhaps a golden/brass vase to complement the shell vase with Pampas grass. The radiator can be spray painted any color you choose. Karen BritChick just filmed a video where she goes thru how her & her partner painted old radiators. Hope you find the perfect design to finish your spare room! Love from Cali 💜
For my pin collection l bought a couple of canvases and painted them, the pins pop through nicely and you can still use the thingamy on the back to hold the pins in. 😸
Your accent wall is a nice warm brown, so it looks very inviting and cozy! I literally just finished painting over brown paint in my new apartment left over from the tenants before and it was a cooler brown and....depressing. It's funny how the tone of a color makes a huge difference.
Please do the video about mistakes about buying your first home! My partner and I have just had an offer accepted and I am already very overwhelmed with everything and it would be so helpful! x
Over lockdown your videos have been something i've really looked forward to and I always come away from them feeling really positive and with the feeling of having just caught up with a good friend :)
I didn't realise how much I've missed your vlogs until I saw this... Miss your content and your home/moving vlogs! Would love a 10 mistakes when buying a house video!
The room looks great now!! love the peg board thing, think I need one to store all my washi tape!! Cant wait for the launch on Friday of all the new stock, it looks fab!
I paused you half way through like "what am I doing?" and made a big cuppa - cheers ☕ So nice having a little catch up and a chat with you. I'm glad you're doing well :) the spare bedroom looks SO much better (don't take that the wrong way) but honestly it's so much brighter than when we last saw it??? Also really appreciate the small business owner shop tour, my mum's using my old bedroom back home as her office/business space/spare bedroom (she's Queen Bee Art Studios on Amazon and etsy if anyone's interested; water colour cards, prints and pet portraits) and she's been like I DONT HAVE SPACE so this is dead helpful for seeing what's available and different ways to store the same kinda stuff. Who would have thought how much space is taken up by gift wrap??? Honestly... hahaha we'll see what Santa brings for her from Ikea if anything ever opens again
i’ve been looking for a bed of some sorts to put in my spare bedroom. was leaning towards a futon but def getting a smaller sleeper sofa like yours, so cute!
Look into radiator covers instead of replacing it and tbh I dont know how much you love that fire place/want to keep the original feature but I'd consider removing it and boarding it over to give you more wall space 🤷♀️🧡
I think the curvy bookshelf would look nice at the far end of the office against the cocoa wall☺️. it would look great as a display of all your gold dust road products and a potential filming background If you need it with the addition of pretty green plants 😍 P.S. I’m currently living in a house share hunting for flats but constantly being rejected as I’m a PhD student and landlords run in fear from the S word. I’m living all my decorating dreams vicariously though you 😂
Instead of replacing the entire radiator you could get a wooden cover for it? I got one for a previous flat and it was a great way to cover up a really ugly radiator!
As someone whose also purchased a house and has questioned some of my own mistakes, I think it would be a good ole jolly time to hear what some of your first house regrets/ purchases were. Mine is a retro Llama hanging above my wall for years that I’ve only now finally accepted as my son.
Loved this video Lucy! 🧡 it looks like it's turning into a lovely space! Also, your Gold Dust Road shop is so good! I'm so excited for Friday to hopefully sneak online while at work and buy some things! 😂👍
hello have missed you and the house renovations. I think the bookcase if fine where it is and will be nice storage for any visitors who stay over but for now get some cute bookends and display your books on it. Also did you ever get a dressing table for the bedroom? x

Would love to see a BTS video on creating a new product beginning to end for Gold Dust Road! 🥰✨
Very boring but important safety notice. If the mirror you have e popped on the windowsill is double sided be VERY careful as the sun hitting the mirror can very easily start a fire.
Happened to us at work about twenty years ago.
I almost melted and burnt my plastic windowsill that exact way! Totally worth mentioning, safety first!
I once burnt a hole through my blind this way
The office look amazing, simple but great. Well done, Lucy 👌
Yes to the "mistakes for first home" video idea! We've just bought our first place (WHAT???) and would love some advice!
Stop it 😂 I've seen 1/3rd of that sweatshirt for about 2.5 seconds and I can already tell that I NEED it hahaha
I’d probably just put some decorative candles in the fire place. Not exactly original but...

I've missed the home updates and a catch up! I can totally see where you are going with the inspo, it'll look amazing!
Could you save the shelves and then use them in your bathroom once you've renovated that? The room is looking great
Lucy's videos have such a cosy quality, and I love every second of them
Also yes please to the house mistakes vid! That would be super useful!

Your shop is so adorable! You can tell you put a lot of work into it and it's very inspiring. I can't wait to see how it grows 😊
The 10 mistakes video you suggested would be really interesting!
I love the Bamboo bookshelf, would look beautiful in the brown wall with some plants and cute books/notebooks .
Your room is looking great!
Put the big bookshelf against the biscuit wall! You could display the pictures on there that are still on the floor so you have even less floor clutter :)

I cannot wait to have my own home to decorate! This is exactly the vibe I want.
Thanks for this video! I'm moving to a bigger house soon and definately need some inspo for decor. This helped alot! Love your videos!
Dried flowers look great in front of a fireplace

What an amazing job you’ve done! Looks fab
blue and orange are opposite colours! So good choice (to work our take one primary and mix the other two and you have your contrast colour)!
This was such a fun little video😻
I’m moving into my first ever home next year and this is giving me so much inspo for my office/side business storage! ☺️
(ALSO, I have a friend who makes pin hoops if you’re ever looking for some funky ways to display your pins! She’s ‘SewWhatByLiz’ on Etsy!)
Me finishes work and debates what to do next.

Oh i love the color in the wall 😍 the new ikea selfs are really nostalgic to me. I had them in my bedroom when I was little 😄
this video was the relaxing cosy vibes that i needed right now, thanks :)
I'm really keen to see your 10 mistakes we made with our first house video...I'm looking to buy early next year and could use some tips!
Yes to the mistakes as a first time buyer! I'm literally in the process of finding a first home right now so that would be wonderful
cant wait for that tshiiiirt
oh what, best sponsor ever!
plants on the shelf
Instead of replacing the entire radiator you could get a wooden cover for it? I got one for a previous flat and it was a great way to cover up a really ugly radiator!
In the fireplace I would get a print of a burning fire and put it in there. Or some sort of optical illusion print which makes it look bigger.
I’d get an electric fireplace especially bc in the UK it gets cold
A wooden radiator cover would look amazing in there!
Yessss can't wait for this 🥰 I hope you, Adam and Florence are all keeping well 💕 lot's of love 💜

That bookshelf that’s empty would be GREAT for plants..: just plants
It looks amazing! Love the biscuit coloured wall too though it makes me feel hungry for digestives 🤔
This is so freakin’ cute!! Love what you have done with the room!
For the fireplace, I'd put books with the binders hidden away - it would match the warm tones of the room! :)
So excited to watch this!❤️
☺️ Lucy, you are great 😊
