Have you tried Babycat? Do you think it's worth such hype and obsession on YT and TikTok? Have you ever bought a certain fragrance because of the hype? What are your experiences? ❤ Check this video if you want to see my honest opinion on another hyped-up perfume, Liquides Imaginaires Blanche Bete: ua-cam.com/video/dQPMJzxrFxA/v-deo.html
I am a male living in Southern California and recently blind purchased a 125ml bottle of Babycat. Today is my 3rd day in a row wearing it and love it. My wife, who notoriously hates every strong fragrance in my collection, even said she liked it yesterday. It’s fantastic. I also have Kilian’s Angels’ Share, but it is too sweet for me so I have only used my bottle a few times as I don’t like that scent very much. Babycat and PDM Carlisle are some of my favorite cold weather fragrances now.
Hi Miri. Because of it’s scarcity, I haven’t tried, and do not own Babycat. It sounds like a fragrance that needs to be sampled….definitely not a blind buy. I also try to refrain from sampling fragrances that I can’t afford to love…and buy… It’s my way of maintaining balance (and solvency!😂) in the fragrance world I recently discovered. I love watching your videos❤
Yeah, that's completely true.🥰 It's always good to hear your thoughts and yes, this one is definitely something you should try out first and not buy it based on the hype. 😉
Hello Miri, a few thoughts as i catch up on missed videos... You have such a good attitude, i always leave a battle or review feeling cheerful, no matter what vid i watched. But you also have a good attitude in how you are aware of how diverse your viewers are, and address different hypothetical perspectives. Definitely shows that you are interested in people, who they are, what they think, etc. On the tech side, your videos are extremely well produced (especially when you're going over scent notes, or telling stories of imaginary wearers.) Your review format is *brilliant* besides being easy to sit through. Your videos relax me. My young friend of ~24 loves Babycat. We're in the States and can't normally get it, but after a 2ml sample, she splurged on an 8ml decant. I got a Fire At Will decant this autumn, and wonder if it would be a good battle frag for Babycat but i can't get my nose on it any longer 😅 Lastly... "Kitten with a whip" 😂😂
Aw Karen, thank you so much. I will save your comment to lift me up when I feel down. I put a lot of effort I put into making these reviews and it's great to feel appreciated. Thank you so much for your support. It truly means a lot. I have Fire at Will as well, I love it and it's on my list of perfumes I want to review on this channel in the weeks to come so I'll add your suggestion for the "Babycat VS. Fire at Will battle" on my list. 🥰❤
Three weeks ago, after thinking that I would just live with Rifaaqat...which is hard enough to find...Scent Split in Houston had Babycat decants--and full bottles for the astronomically outrageous price of $450.00--so I got a decant, thinking it would have to last me. Two weeks later, I ordered a bigger decant...and miracle of miracles, Saturday I found a source for Babycat at a reasonable price WITH a discount code on their banner...so I ordered. They shipped the SAME day...and today is Tuesday and it's out for delivery...three days later. Not just great prices, but excellent customer service!!!
I agree, Scent Split is a great website for decants. I'm so glad you were able to find a full bottle for a decent price. I also bought a full bottle recently. The more I wear it, the more I love Babycat. It's addictive. 🙃😉
I thought I would love Babycat, and bought a full bottle. What a mistake. I hate it. 🤦♀️ You are right - not a safe blind buy. I wish I could trade it for something I like.
I can see why you dislike it. In many YT reviews, Babycat is described as the perfect vanilla fragrance and to me, that means it is very sweet and alluring, but Babycat has spicy, smoky, peppery leather nuances that might not appeal to everyone. 😕🤷♀Thank you for sharing your experience and for your comment.🌼🌺
@@Miri-s You're absolutely right! I love vanilla, but for some reason, all I get with Babycat is suede, and I don't care for that. I know fragrances smell different on everyone, and I think a lot of people may get more of a vanilla smell from BC. I wish I'd seen your review before I'd purchased it. You were absolutely on point. 🙂
Thanks for all your kind comments. I'm glad you enjoy the videos I make. Since there are a lot of new fragrance 2024 releases I need to review (and there's always so little time😅), I can't promise you when I'll make that comparison video, but I put your request on my to-do list so I'll make it eventually. 😉😊🥰
I would have been a lot happier had Babycat had been created by another house. YSL Canada recently sent me an email declaring a sitewide twenty percent discount (without code). I excitedly opened it and looked for Babycat oly to discover it had been excluded from the sale. A pox on L'Oreal, you greedy swine. I will continue searching high and low to find a vanilla scent I like as much, just to avoid giving any of my business to L'Oreal.
I understand how you feel. Those marketing strategies aren't fair toward customers. Maybe you should try out Vanagloria by Laboratorio Olfattivo. They have very similar scent profiles. 🙂
I did try Vanagloria, but on my skin all I get is the smell of burned incense. Vanilla is bareely detectible until well into the drydown. The closest I've found is RIFAAQAT by Paris Corner, which is a near-exact dupe of Babycat at a killer price, but the performance is woeful. You almost need to take a bath in it. @@Miri-s

Yes, it is gorgeous and a compliment getter without a doubt. You have really good taste in perfumes! Thank you for sharing your experience. 👍

Very informative video. I would highly appreciate if you can make a video on babycat’s dupe RIFAAQAT
