Watching this makes me want to finish this... but god damn man the first smelter demon run back took me sooo many hours. I'm just not ready to go through that again. Good work man
Whilst these co-op oriented maps made absolutely no sense and was a complete mess in difficulty balance, I can't say I didn't had some ridiculous fun and moments co-oping there, it was so goddamn chaotic that you won't find similar experience from the more controlled environments of normal maps.
This boss and run back is what made me quit playing dark souls 2 for 2 years lmao. I’m back playing it again and having a good time but I think for my sanity I’m gonna skip on the optional dlc areas. Last time I was so close to beating the game and then this boss happened. But this time I will overcome ds2 and beat it. Great video.
they optional areas were pure nonsense, i personally hate the one from the first dlc a bit more than the frigid outskirts, because at least i know how to cheese that one
I really love the bosses from Iron King's DLC. Not because they are good and just because they are the only 3 bosses in ALL FROM SOFTWARE GAMES that can manipulate their own time to end every move in the combos. I was fighting Sir Allone for the first time and try after try i was seeing the Samurai just delaying his moves. Then Sir Allone dropped on me a single slash that got 2,5s of delay than the original speed because he wanted and killed me.
Everyone said this was so difficult but I beat it today on my fifth try. I just ran past all the enemies, dodging when necessary, and beat him like normal 🤷♂️
I think I got super lucky tbh, I beat Blue Smelter on my second try while just running to the boss door, only because the AI summons survived the run too. I'm sort of ashamed to admit, but regular Smelter Demon took me so long I basically had no enemies on the run back...
@@rupturedpheonix3750 That makes sense, regular Smelter I still only had 3 or 4 estus I think, was just coasting on lifegems. By the time I got to Blue I only had lifegems as a last resort.
because if you dont make it in time the game wont let you try a second time unless you die and try again, so its pure luck if the enemies stop you or not
I believe I used Ricard's Rapier and honestly unsure which infusion is the best for it. I ended up having it uninfused and instead resined when there was an opportunity to.
did people seriously struggled with this guy? i beat him on my second try, not that im defending this shitty area and reused boss but come on his timing is a bit different but nothing that really increases his difficulty
@@bloodswan I did play a bit of Lies of P, and it definitely scratched the Bloodborne itch, but I kinda dropped off it. DS2 just sort of held my attention better I guess? Once I got used to the quirks it had I settled into it pretty well. Maybe I'm the exception though, idk. And I can't speak for Lords of The Fallen, since I know nothing about it.
After i realized the smelter demon was the end of the run up, i decided to just kill everything so it would stop spawning
Same! It was a hassle, but less of a hassle then running past this everytime I died to him I reckon.

Always appreciate a good Smelter run, nice work!
Truly one of the games ever made. Thank you Yui Tanimura please never direct a game again
He co-directed Elden Ring lmao

stay away from eleum loyce, especially the far open area trust me, that s the only area I haven t cleared but I m never going back there
I honestly don't think it's that bad, iron keep is worse for me lol especially with the lever shortcut for blue smelter

this is truly best souls 2
Thank fuck for Stakes of Marika holy shit
I’m replaying DS2 right now and I forgot about this run back
I did it this way too, always managed to get hit by the giant before the fog door too
Ggs man ❤️
I just killed everything until it stopped spawning, same thing with the kirin area lmao.

You *should* be ashamed.

it amazes me why people dont use gower's ring to run through the areas.
Why does nobody take the route through the gates you open with the levers???
Is that route actually easier? Don't you need some luck to get through? You can of course clear the enemies but that takes some more time.
because if you dont make it in time the game wont let you try a second time unless you die and try again, so its pure luck if the enemies stop you or not
Whoever cry about this and Sir Alonne runback, use freaking simpleton's ring.
Besides the big guy at the end the runback is actually fairly easy. I dont understand most of the complaints. sir alone is 10x worse.
Why is your espada ropera uninfused lmfao

Beat on my first try - second run back. Just use summons or gitgud

Oh wow this isn't the worst game in the series or anything
It's a fine game, it may be worst in the series but it's still leagues above any souls-like that wasn't developed by FromSoftware.
@mannmctrash it ain't better than Lies of P, I think the latest Lords of the Fallen was better too but to be fair they are new games so should be.
