    I can't see KM going to Brighton or anywhere this Summer. His first season in the PL I believe he'll want to be at a club where he knows the set up inside out and has the respect of the squad he's coaching from the start...And doesn't have to try and earn it from a new bunch of well paid (-with big egos) established PL players. Fail to keep us up next year, nobody blames McKenna, if Brighton drop like a stone from being an established PL club under KM, a VERY different story.

    I think because its been back to back promotions it does leave us a bit short on pl quality players through no fault of our own,just a victim of success, yes these players are great but with ffp we may find ourselves wanting.if we stay up it will be monumental from the club

    I think Mc Kenna will stay, and have said all along that he will only leave here for Man Utd or Spurs, and stand by that.
    The atmosphere at Ipswich, the control he has here, and the non-interference from the owners and those above him at Ipswich, is unusual and he will be aware of that.
    He said he did not come to L1 lightly, and equally he will not leave Ipswich lightly,

    I think Ipswich might have a season in the Premier League like Leeds did on their return to the top flight in 20/21when they finished 9th. But 3/4 of your team are nowhere near Prem standard and should be getting their P60s.

      Hard to argue with much of what you say However I would maintain Ipswich are a better footballing side than either Luton or Sheffield United were last year Portman Road will NOTbe an easy place to go either! Defence needs major surgery (only Davis (if he stays) and perhaps Burgess with a better partner at the centre of defence) can cut it at this level If Mc Kenna goes it will be tough but a different mindset might have some surprises!

    Kieran would be mad to move, he has so much support at Town. He could go and loose his job in a flash at a bigger club. Hey, getting a tattoo loo

      Strong words there Paul! We need to remember that McKenna isn't a life-long Ipswich Town fan like us. Why would he be 'mad' to consider a move up the football pyramid?

    Nowhere near ,the defence will be pulverised.needs a centre back and a right back .Two midfielders one winger and one out and out striker.

      Keiron is an outstanding young manager But he is Not Ipswich Town Rob Edwards or Liam Rosenior could come in and have a good crack at things Though whether Edwards would leave Luton for Ipswich is rather like saying why would Mc Kenna leave Ipswich for Brighton!

    Is Brighton really such a big step up though? For all that they have achieved, the best they could do is finish 11th. Crystal Palace, who McKenna turned down finished higher and so did West Ham. Does anyone really believe that we won't be at least on par with Brighton in 5 years time? If McKenna stays with us for 5 years, he'll have a crack at the Champions League.
    No doubt most people would back Brighton to finish above us next season, but the people who have been paying attention would expect ITFC to stay up next season, and maybe even comfortably. Then with the trust McKenna has earnt he will get the backing to continually take us forward.

    • @BlueMondayITFC
      @BlueMondayITFC  27 днів тому +1

      Not sure how you can predict where anyone will be in 5 years time Charlie! McKenna will need to consider now as well as the future, and however you want to slice it, Brighton are a fully established Premier League club these days. Ipswich Town have only just returned to the top level for the first time in 22 years.

    • @charliemilroy6497
      @charliemilroy6497 27 днів тому

      @@BlueMondayITFC with all due respect, McKenna has to predict 5 years ahead. In the end he just has to look at the actual evidence and then go with his heart and his gut. You know as well as any other that a team like Brighton (case study Leicester, is only one bad season away from relegation). Only Aston Villa and Newcastle have managed to move up to the Premier League perennial bracket. McKenna's getting well backed at Ipswich but he'd only get Wellbeck at Brighton.

      Brighton is a massive step up. It’s actually amazing so many town fans don’t realize that…

    • @charliemilroy6497
      @charliemilroy6497 26 днів тому

      @@SeanSullyy would you say the same about Leicester? Would you have said the same about Leicester 2 years ago?
      Brighton have a much better scouting network and are very good and bringing players in to sell for profit, so in some regards they are way ahead of ITFC, but not on all measures, the most important being fanbase and potential growth under this manager and management.

    The Management world is fickle and Kieran has the backing of Ipswich, supporters and the funders. He hasn't achieved anything yet if you know what I mean and he has the opportunity to prove himself. like Sir Bobby. If he didn't achieve instantly, anything for the likes of MU he would be gone in an instant. We know he will go at some point, that's football management. I don't want him to go but he will. I'm just saying that Ipswich will be loyal to him, if he is loyal to us.

      Spot on sir However years back Bill Mc Harry left Ipswich after taking them up and the club appointed a chap sacked by Fulham called Bobby Robson! Hope Keiron stays but Liam Rosenior for example might fit the vacancy very well Hull were crackers getting rid there!

    Trigger warning for unpopular opinion - Davis is a Premier League Player - players like Broadhead, Hladky, Hirst could be but I think Campbell, Woolfenden, Morsy might not make it. To my mind Ipswich went up because they had an outstanding coach, great team work and one or two gems especially Hutchinson (doubt 20 million would get him). Similar to Norwich's first Championship - great coach in Farke and a couple of gems in Pukki, Buendia but could not compete in Prem with Championship Level Players. They spent minor millions second time but 10 million players rarely good enough hence even worse relegation. Ramsey did his "smash and grab act" but will Ipswich repeat this or be a Luton, Blades etc or crack the code like Brentford, Brighton or Palace. Core message is that you will be lucky to survive with 5 - 10 million pound players.

    • @christophercorbett5074
      @christophercorbett5074 25 днів тому

      I don't think a speaking as a Ipswich fan from 1971 you are unfair there The one caveat I would have is Sam Morsy as his presence and commitment could be vital Always tough but of course no one expected us to even finish ahead of Norwich Boro Coventry or West Brom(all good sides) let alone ttwo of the three relegated clubs!

      You need about 12 top established PL players plus a lot of you talent to pad team out.
