Totally, in a good way and... kinda in a "bad" way??
I remember when he first pitched his project on YT and showed some of the "pre-production" part, there was a lot of "The End of the f world" references.
To a point where even the main character looks a lot like him. I'm kinda afraid that Danny lowkey fantasized making "the end of the f world" and chose
a lot of aspects that ressembles A LOT (vibe, music, character, and also... the whole "suicidal" theme).
I have no doubt that it's going to be personal/genuine and look awesome. I just regret that it feels a bit too much like "the end of the f world".

*This is a review after watching this trailer multiple times*. I am stunned by the sincere sense of tragic environment it created for the viewers. I am also surprised by the cinematic imagery this film creates within a minimal budget and I also believe that it's coming from a focused filmmaker who is aware of his creative language. The primal reason behind this is that Mr Gervtiz has written this screenplay by himself.
Great work, captivated wait to see it in Toronto.

It moved me to tears and made me laugh.
Go see this film, it's beautiful, funny and sad, superbly done. Sorry I didn't get to tell Danny in person just how much I loved this, so I hope you read this, Danny and know just how brilliant I found this. I really hope you get distribution and it gets a Blu Ray/4k release. It would be a massive shame if this isn't seen by many people.

What I love the most is that you tried to make everything as simple as possible - your camera is not moving much, it feel like there are not many cuts in the scenes, everything naturally lit.. just doing what is necessary for the story. Watching the trailer to a movie is the first part of my usual movie going experience. Not only does it set me up for what's to come but it is also an indicator of how much the people behind the movie care and how much effort they put into it.
If done right, watching the trailer can be a magical moment in of itself and I'm happy to report that it was the case with this one.
It's a shame I won't be able to see it in theaters because I'm not from the US but I'm just letting you know that this is exactly what we need now. This is what cinemas need. This is cinema

Currently watching the behind the scenes of this, and I decided to watch the trailer. Seeing this and seeing behind the scenes of it is so cool! I've been really getting into filmmaking and all of that stuff recently, and all this puts it into a crazy but interesting perspective! Excited to see this when it releases digitally!
I can't for the life of me place the tune in the back half of this trailer, but I love it. I'm really excited to see this film after it does the festival rounds.

Both from what you create, how you tell the story behind it, what I have learned from it and how good natured you seem as a person. You've really been an inspiration as a creative but also with the kindness you express. I am excited to see this movie once it makes its way to Europe somehow, it really looks like it has your voice behind it :) Congratulations on this amazing achievement from Germany!
First of all: Congratulations! People often ask how to get a cinematic film look. For me, something is truly "cinematic" when you get sucked into the film/trailer and don't pay attention to the cinematography anymore. No longer on light, camera angles and movements. When you don't even notice it anymore because you are so much into the story, the movie. As if you were really there. And that's exactly what you've done, in my opinion.
Second: Where the hell can I watch it? You got me with the trailer! :D
First off, congrats Danny (and co.)!!! I have been absolutely STOKED for this project as it speaks to something that is near and dear to me mental health.
That being said, you are going to hate me for saying this, but I am not feeling the original intention of the film (a heavy topic mixed with realness, lightheartedness, and comedy) in this trailer. Off the rip, I get horror movie vibes from the soundtrack selection/build-up hits/edits. It comes off as eerie. Then it it's a hodgepodge from there without really having any clear expectation. It's almost too much. I have high hopes for this film to deliver on the original intention, but unfortunately this trailer falls short.
Just know this comes from a place of love and I want to see this project succeed. Also, this would have been something I would have messaged privately, but that's not an option. At the very least this comment can galvinize a conversation. My best!!!
I don't know if I will ever get to watch this (bc I live in Thailand) but with all the feels I get from watching this trailer alone, this seriously looks like something I'd LOVE. It's even better when you're the one writing and making it. Congratulations Danny!

This trailer reminded me of a fear I once had of my friend I ran Cross Country with for multiple years. He pulled me aside one day talking to me about how he wanted to take his own life, that it just wasn't worth it anymore. That day he really changed my perspective on life as he was someone that always seemed happy. I still talk to him today and he is doing really well.
