Friday the 13th franchise will be my ultimate favorite horror series in movie history and Jason Voorhees still my favorite slasher of all time. Great trailer! ☠️💀☠️💀☠️💀☠️💀
Tubi has a beautiful copy of Friday 13 right now. It's a gorgeous print, crystal clear, and sharp. The audio and music is pristine and so perfect. I never thought I would ever get to see this film the way it's intended to be, like it was presented in 1980. Now, I know what the fuss is about because when I watched it before, it was cut and washed out and not very good. This changes that!
FRIDAY THE 13TH (1980) CONTAINS SPOILERS “His name was Jason.. and today is his birthday.” The intro is as pure 80s camp as it gets.. everything from the killer’s POV, the music, to a vicious kill and a zoom on a victim’s terrified face. The special effects are well done and effective for the most part. Some of them made me feel kind of sick like Kevin Bacon’s death. But the highlight has got to be the moment Betsy Palmer shows up as Jason’s mother. She provides some backstory and does it in such an interesting manner. I don’t know how she manages to be so creepy yet so sympathetic within a span of less than a minute but she nails it. Probably my favorite performance in a slasher film to this day. Then the dreary yet effective dream sequence which executed one of the best jump scares in horror history. If you’re a fan of horror you saw this a long time ago.. Probably on basic cable like I did.. or better yet, on the big screen. We all can only hope that our mothers would do the same for us!
@@dominon929 You don’t wanna go there bro.. trust me. Halloween copied Black Christmas, added a mask and an annoying theme. The first Halloween is so full of mistakes and amateurish hide and seek nonsense that it boggles the mind how anyone could watch it would laughing.
Nice to see the unrated cut of Jason goes to hell on blu-ray at last, paramount had no excuse for leaving it off the box set they released a couple years ago.
Jason was the persona of promiscuous sex in the woods, and the campers were Jason. The moral is: what goes around comes around, not being good or Jason will get YOU! And how many baby mothers would stand up for their children and do what she did, probably none. Pam had a history of mental illness with Elias mistreating her long before 1957. He was fed up with the then-pregnant Pam and couldn't stand her talking about hearing the voices of her unborn child. They got into a heated argument, said some cryptic stuff, and Pam murdered him with an ax. Then she got on as the first cook. Jason was an invalid stay-at-home child, and she worked something out to have Jason be at camp while she worked so she wouldn't have to be at two places at once.
Because at the time you saw this you didn’t know she survived. Now thinking about my answer still doesn’t explained the other 2 kill counts for her so good point lol
