Sir Snake, I must tell you that you were not wrong about jumping the solenoid plugs! I in fact have done it to my 300L with peices of an old brass keyring and once I drove the bike the CEL went away immediately!

I wrote Jake asking about jumping the plugs and he said he did not do it? But in the video he does? I'm wondering if we went back and took them out? I had them jumped but he told me not to so I took The wire back out.

My scale said 2.8 lbs for these removed items. A tip, if you're removing the reed valve you can dremel or grind away the end of the screw (not the head). This allows you to just back the screw out and keep it tidy. Great video, Jake! It's still helping us years later!

I just removed all of the same emissions items from my 2022 KLX 300 SM.. My evap canister came out a little easier. But it had a second smaller one in between the hose to the airbox. I've never seen that one before, but either way all that crap is gone! Glad you made this video right now! Happy Birthday man!

HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY JAKE. Yeah most people try to make their bikes lighter but i went opposite. i went from a 230 pound dirt bike full of fluids to about 245 pounds full of fluids by adding a larger gas tank, wrap around hand guards, and yeah but who cares. more gas means more fun.

Out of interest, did you check if you got the check engine light before you removed the PAIR system... ie. if you just removed the charcoal canister solenoid, but left the PAIR solenoid connected? The reason I ask is I've removed the canister from a number of CB500Xs over the years and there is no check engine light, even without bridging the now open plug on the loom - you just tape it up.
Alternatively could you just not leave the canister solenoid connected to the loom, but essentially doing nothing now all the hoses have been disconnected? I imagine that would simply 'fool' the ECU that the system was still in place even though it is no longer venting into the throttle body from time to time (since all that solenoid does is open a valve in the hoses).

  • @AngryPepper1964

Fantastic video Jake. One question, other than what you just did, does the bike have a modified ECU, or is it just completely stock. I’d like to remove all the pollution devices, but am a little worried that the bike would not run that well. Thanks much.

So, the secondary air thing seems to act as the engine vent of excess pressure...by blanking it off won't that result in overpressure and blown seals?
What advantage is removing the list bit anyway? I understand removing the charcoal can ( space) but not the air thing.

  • @J8zzy
    @J8zzy 6 місяців тому +1

You can still use that O2 sensors bracket if you use shorter bolts and put it back without secondary air valve.
I'll maybe try to use 25ohm resistor for secondary air system on and 30ohm resistor on charcoaö canister blug.
    Measured those today.
Could you put link for your Power Vision 3 solutiom here.

Call the dealership and offer them $800 to get you a 300l. I have waited a year and I called the dealer and told them I’ll give you $800 if you get me one because I’ve waited and waited. A week later they magically got one. A guy at the dealer offered to pay me not to buy it because he has waited for months as well. As I was leaving with my new bike he told me he found a dealer 800 miles away and was driving to get one but he had to pay a $1000 markup. Another dealer told me a week ago they had two come in randomly and they were sold in 20 mins of opening. I’m glad I offered the extra money because I have spent a lot of time and gas hunting one down and being let down week after week and month after month.

Pump or fuel filter but this makes sense. I’m not sure about the parev valve but definitely maybe just the eve app cannister would help this issue but I have to figure out if in Canada they check for inspections. Great videos you always go top notch vids 🤘🏼

I have thumb upped all your CRF300L Vids, Thanks for posting. I have a few quick questions. I know the stock wheel hubs are steel, are the rims also ? The stock handle bars are steel, are the upper and lower triple clamps also steel ? I was told the engine is painted because it is has cast steel cases, jug and head and the only aluminum was the piston and Fuel Inj. housing, is that accurate ? Is the front master cylinder aluminum or a steel casting ? I would guess the disc brake cylinders are alum. as well as the rear brake mstr. cyl. If this is true it seems they have kept the use of aluminum to a minimum on this model only the swing arm, upper fork tubes and clutch and brake levers. I have not seen one in person yet as my local dealer had one back in December that I missed out looking at and won't have a 2022 in until June or July. Thanks

Your bike might not have to beat north American emissions standards. I see your user name has Kiwi in it so I'm assuming you're from New Zealand. Y'all might not have as strict of emissions standards as we do and your bike might not be equipped with the same things as ours.

That canister seems like the perfect spot for a nitrous bottle

can you not just drill a hole in the bottom of the charcoal canister so that it cant fill up?

I'd be very interested in seeing if others have removed the reed valve and their bikes stopped rattling at 5k. I want to keep my bike stock but am willing to delete this BS if that gets rid of the rattle.

I was hoping to find a comment like this. I literally just did everything Jake did in this video. The only thing different is that I used a snug vacuum cap on the pair valve port instead of using the block off plate (on its way from Revzilla currently). I removed the reed valve as well but still have the rattle at about 5,200rpm give or take a bit. I had to drill out the Philips head like in the video but did make sure to put the gasket piece back in. I was really hoping it would have removed the rattle. I don’t see how the block off plate could make a difference but who knows? I hope someone else has done this as well to see their results.

Hey guys just did the same and deleted it all and put the same cap on and unfortunately I’m still having the rattle no change

Thank God my bike didn't come with that canister nonsense. It does have the pair system though. Thanks garden gnome. Sorry Greta.

All that emissions gear must only be a Euro/American market thing ,i have an Australian delivered bike & it has none of that on it.
