Very important thing about the dial, it is actually silver brushed aluminum look, not white. It looks much better than what photos or videos show. Great watch, thanks for the video.
So close yet... Yessir the date wheel should be deleted ( maybe use the 3:00 sub-dial for date rather than the 24 hour?) and usually I don’t mind the Orient crown but that area is too busy. Definitely keep the beautiful Chronograph script though. Maybe just deleting 10 bar would help? Thanks Bob.
Yeah I agree on the date. Not very useful. I thought it was pretty busy from pictures but the text hasn't really bothered me although ditching the 10 bar would definitely clean it up. Thanks :)
Bob the only one that is close is the Seiko Men's Recraft Solar Chronograph with Black Leather Strap, love the canvas strap, nice on those hot summer days:)
TimeToGo Travel And Timepieces I love blue dialed watches, didn’t know it was available in that combo, sounds really nice, enjoy the Orient, I bet a rubber strap would look great on it too:)
@@Shaverboy516 I actually have a rubber rally style strap on the way for it that should be a good pairing. The blue version has some pops of orange that look great. Might have to pull the trigger on it.
TimeToGo Travel And Timepieces The rally strap is a perfect pairing Bob, pops of orange with a blue dial is my favorite combo on sub-dial watches, maybe a wrist check on your next video with the new strap would be cool to see:)
@@TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces I got myself a Dan Henry 1964 evil panda and could not be happier. I keep changing straps between black or brown rallye leathers , bond nato... can't get bored...
Nice video, I love it! But I wonder, would it be a problem if I keep turning the chronograph on? I'm aware of that many automatic watches can be broken if chronograph is kept being turned on. Can this watch be broken too?
Always loved the look of these Orient Chronos. I got in on the Helgray Silverstone Kickstarter a few years ago. Got the 2 register panda dial version with vk64 mecaquartz and it was a decent enough watch. Definitely good competition for this but I flipped it as quartz (meca or not) just couldn't hold my interest... That being said, I'd be totally cool with a GS quartz or a quartz MarineMaster... Anyway, great video Bob, some real nice camera work there. Keep it up.
Thanks alot Bill. I was just checking out the Helgray. Definitely a good alternative to this one. I definitely prefer mechanical too but like to have a couple grab and go quarts around. Cheers :)
@@TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces Watch Mavrick watches he just did a review on it yesterday and loved it! Its Seikos best keep secret but not for long. Im loving mine.
@@TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces I just ordered a Dan Henry 1962 for $260, the limited edition factor that only 1962 would be made swung it plus I'm in the UK and the Dan Henry carries no import tax where the Orient does, If I ever see one on a good deal that offsets this I will probably get one of these as well as I love Orient watches and this one is a peach.
I’m torn between these two as well. The racing car on the back of the Dan Henry looks absolutely class and the face looks so much more cleaner than the Orient, but I love the idea that this Orient is solar-quartz. How do you like your Dan Henry watch so far mate?
Overall, the watch is pretty cool with a couple aesthetics that I dislike. I'm not a fan of the 4 o'clock date and the smaller 6 o'clock sub dial should have been the same diameter as the other two for symmetry. Other than that, it looks like a solid watch for that price.

Great watch, thanks for the video.
Yes. Especially out in sunlight that metallic finish really pops. Thanks and have a great weekend 👍👍
Just got this and immediately put it on a black leather clasp deployment strap. I do love it.
Awesome! Congrats on the new watch👍👍
I have a Citizen CA0450-57A. Has a raised sapphire crystal, nice bracelet, 40mm wears smaller.
Just looking it up now. Really nice. Might have to give that one a try. Thanks!
L W echo drive?
@@eeyyaakk6801 yes it's eco drive
As a person who owns this watch I would buy this again in a heart beat
Excellent! Compares well to Dan Henry Chronos but has a better logo and history IMO.
I've saw a few of the Dan Henry's at Wind Up last year. Seem like some pretty decent watches and some are definitely a good comparable. Thanks Andy!
@@TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces If you can please review a dan henry 1962. I have a blue one and really impressed.
Same like me. I was wondering after buying the Orient but Dan Henry has a 39mm dial only. So I think I was right to buy Orient.
@@VerangaF430 me too, I am really impressed with Dan Henry 1962. Only one point I am not interested in is a 39mm dial

for smaller wrists the Seagull automatic Fod by Merkur 38mm .. retro and superb quality for even cheaper ...
I'll have to check that out. Thanks.
Good looking watch for sure but disappointed in the quartz movements. Definitely looks better on the strap.
I prefer mechanical too but I like to have a couple grab and go quartz watches in the rotation. Thanks Arthur.
This one stands out as a solar panda that's how its unique. Its almost the point of it. Not many solar watches done in classic styles.
Hoping to pick up a Heitis Chrono Panda soon. I think its a great contender for the Orient.
That's a cool one. Had the black dial awhile back for a vid.
Nice looking chrono. I like Orient but the date window is a deal breaker for me.
Not a deal breaker for me but definitely a negative. I think I'd prefer no date at all. Thanks :)
Bob the only one that is close is the Seiko Men's Recraft Solar Chronograph with Black Leather Strap, love the canvas strap, nice on those hot summer days:)

Love how this one wears on the canvas. Really happy with it so far. Thanks alot Jeffrey :)
I have one with Rally orange straps I love it
I'd put the Dan Henry 1962 above... But this one is definitely a killer too
Quite a few people suggesting the Dan Henry. May have to pick one up. Looks like a great watch. Thanks.
@@TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces I got myself a Dan Henry 1964 evil panda and could not be happier. I keep changing straps between black or brown rallye leathers , bond nato... can't get bored...
Unfortunately, there is no sapphire on the 1964 dan henry. And the lug width is 19mm so you have less options for straps.
Nice video, I love it! But I wonder, would it be a problem if I keep turning the chronograph on? I'm aware of that many automatic watches can be broken if chronograph is kept being turned on. Can this watch be broken too?
Chronographs definitely have a tendency to be a little more delicate but it's a lot less likely for a quartz to fail than an automatic or mechanical.
That's a beautiful piece. I like this one.
It's a really nice one. Thanks.
My Orient Golden Eye 2(open heart and back) is on way.. Btw nice budget panda watch.
Nice! Enjoy it, cool watch. Thanks Ibrahim :)
The yema rallygraf is a pretty cool panda chrono as well. Definitely a little different though. Worth checking out

The deal-breaker for me on this watch.....the hands on the subdial are not visible enough.
They do tend to blend into the subdials in certain light.
Nice review, I like this one very much, Thanks Bob

What size is your wrist? Compliments your wrist great
Hi there. It's 7.25 inches. Thank you.
I wish someone would review a different color of the Neo 70s line

What do you think about the Dan Henry 1964 🐼?
Haven't seen one in person but really like the look.
I came across this Orient but can't find one handy to buy in Europe so ended up ordering the 1964 instead. Looking forward to it arriving.
Too bad you can’t get a dome crystal... 🔥
Is that 250 USD or CAD? Currently in the market for one of these!
That's USD. Is see a couple on Ebay for the $240's.
@@TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces thanks man! They seem pretty well priced in CAD as well, very tempting!
do you know any similar-looking Chronograph but with quartz movement so that it's cheaper?
sorry, I see it's already quartz
There another model of orient neo 70. Similar looking model but it is not solar powered and the subdial has green colored hands and no date
Bayu Mukti thanks friend
Bayu Mukti I think I just saw what you're referring to. It has a date, but in the form of a subdial, not a date window.
Love it. But it is rare in Indonesia
Yeah just like 🐼🐼🐼🐼🐼

Yes it is. Canvas from Barton.
An Automatic panda with in-house for $250?!!
This one's actually solar quartz.
$250 for a battery 🔋 watch..uff💲💲💰
42mm is too big
I don't mind the size but it'll be too big for some for sure. Thanks.
Not if you have 7.75” wrists
Maybe for you lol. Not everyone has the same size wrists, or preferences..
a cheap Quartz Watch, what a disapointment.
