Glad to help! We've used higher gauge cords incorrectly in the past and ended up with unpleasant surprises. Check the load, match the cords and you'll be golden.
Thank you for putting this video together. I have had two spas. I lost the first in a flood, but it ran great until it was submerged, then stopped running so great. I live in SE lower Michigan. I have an unfinished basement. I have an area known as the “coal bin”. It’s where coal was stored back when coal was used to heat the house. Tt’s 7 (213 CM) x 11 (335 CM). My spa fits inside. I don’t take the cover off entirely. I take the inflatable part out and set it to the side, then fold the cover back on itself. I do get some water leaking if I’m not careful. As for additional moisture? I ran a hygrometer for two weeks and noted a 2% increase in that room over 14 days. No mold growing in the rafters after 4 years of running this and the other unit. I leave the heater on 24x7. My electric is $40-$45 more per month. Similar to what I would see when I run window air conditioners to cool the second floor of my house. Central air struggles on days over 88F (31C). One window unit helps, but adds close to $50 more per month. Thank you again. Take care.
Sounds like a perfect arrangement! Your electric bill increase is about the same as ours, but we don't leave it on 24/7. We run it 4 days on 3 days off and change the water once every three or four weeks. Do you have a drain in that room?
What a gift your video gave me. I was a little intimidated by the prospect of putting the spa together. Thanks to you clear step by step instructions my task was easy as could be. Thank you.

Correct - confused the dogsnot out of us too when we assembled this thing. It's just a pad, no air, but does a great job keeping your bottom comfortable. To be honest, we thought the inflatable cover insert was a seat pad at first!
Hey was curious how loud it is..? Wondering if will disturb my neighbors in an apartment. Also, is there a high and low speed on the pump? Great video by the way
Thanks! The pump/heater are fairly quiet, but on an apartment patio, it definitely would produce some sort of vibration. Also factor in the weight of 240 gallons of water. There’s only one speed setting on the pump, as well as the bubbles. It’s all on or off. I am investigating alternative pumps and will post something here as soon as I get some reliable feedback.
Another great question. No, the air bubbles are completely independent from the water pump and heating system. As a matter of fact, if you run the bubbles, it may actually produce a cooling effect. So all you need to do is run the pump and the heater to heat it up. You can’t run the heater without the water circulating pump. The bubbles are just for fun. And they’re pretty amazing!
@@eldaniram two reasons: 1. Evaporation causes high humidity which can damage electrical components and cause mold in HVAC systems. 2. Potential for leaks. If the air leaks out, the water will follow.
Just recovered from a similar issue. You can dump 242 gallons of water and refill it, but that can be expensive. Or, you can 'shock' it with chlorine or non-chlorine spa shock, and monitor your levels so it won't happen again. Spa maintenance video coming soon.
Hey man awesome video I do have a saluspa already but I’m wondering what you think of the Coleman made inflatable? Is that made by best way and branded with Coleman or Coleman manufactured? Mine is a saluspa best way Ibiza. Anyways we’re running it in the winter and I’m debating whether to buy a Coleman or a relaxtime next. Also I like the outlet electricity monitor you used. It’s nice to see how much is drawn to the tub when running. Great video!
Thank you! As far as I know, they are all made by Bestway. Even though the box is branded Coleman, the paperwork inside says Bestway. Quality-wise, our inflatable is still doing great! We emptied it a few times, and stored it fully inflated on its side in the garage for two weeks while filming patio furniture. Brought it back out, added a little air, and it's up and running perfectly.
@@zacserrer8178 1. If your garage drains well it’s probably ok 2. Use a dedicated GFI circuit if possible. There is built in GFI on the plug, but use GFI anyway. 3. thank you for this clear and well made video. We're Seniors and couldn't figure it out because the are directions are basically not helpful. Your video saved us. 😀
Great questions. We have heard some horror stories about bromine, to the point where it is actually illegal to use it in spas in Canada. Why it’s still legal in the US is a question. So we typically use one or two chlorine tablets, the small 1” ones that fit in the circulation system that comes with the spa. They last about a week at high temperatures. And we have also found after a $500 electric bill (which seems normal because everybody uses these frequently the first month) you have to run the filter pump at least every other day to circulate the water - or you may end up with a big green moldy mess! We did some research and many companies recommend that if you don’t run the pump daily like we did, draining the spa at least once a month, some say every couple of weeks, will help avoid potentially dangerous chlorine and bromine-resistant bacterial growth. Not gonna lie - this thing takes some work. But it feels so amazingly relaxing!
LOL we have a pretty big house, and it's in Florida, so the AC is always running. The Coleman Saluspa didn't add too much to our bill - maybe another $50 a month with heavy first month usage.
Do y'all have small hoses? Mine filled up about 50min. All in all I love the video. Will say that you should do a video on how to properly store for the winter.
Our water pressure is pathetic here in Florida! Thanks for your kind words. We don’t really have winter here, but cold weather is the best time for hot tubbing! Keep the pump and heater on the lowest setting, and give it a solid day or two to warm up when you want to use it!
@@FreshandFelicia Ah that makes sense. I live in North Texas so we have scorching summers and freezing winters. I will say that the Coleman hot tub is definitely one of the best investments though. We keep ours up and running from April - October. By November we have to put it away 😭
Looking at these online and the description says floating chemical distributor. Your video looks like the tabs go into the air assembly? Am I looking at the wrong one?
There are several brands that resell the same exact hot tub. You can use a floating dispenser, or you can use the one that screws in to the pump. It really doesn’t matter as long as the chlorine tabs are in there somewhere. We have both - we use a floating one when we don’t feel like reaching in and getting our shirt wet LOL!
Ok dumb question...does the bottom inflate also!? I see the valve thingy in the bottom but i feel like that's for the drain? Am i going to be sitting on a hard bottom??
What is the squarish thing inside the hot tub near the top, above the filter and chemical dispenser? I can’t seem to find what it is in the manual or online.
Great question. Officially, nope. You can just disconnect the bubble air hose and pump it up while it’s full. But, with that said, when we tried it, it didn’t appear to inflate fully. Something about the water pressure pushing on the sides.
Great questions! Remove the external drain cap that may be attached to a standard garden hose, and pull the plastic drain plug inside the spa, and empty away. It takes our spa about 45 minutes to drain completely. If you routinely use chlorine tablets, run the filter daily, change the filter when dirty, and monitor the water with test strips, it is possible to keep the water clean and safe for several weeks. We have gone about 8 weeks without replacing the water while running the filter 24/7 and adding chemicals when necessary.
@ awesome! My mom has been wanting one and I just bought the 2-4 person hot tub for Christmas. It will just be the three of us, so hopefully it’s comfortable!

E02 on the air pump? That's typically restricted water pump flow. Unplug it, let it reset, try again, but check to see the air hose is able to get a good seal on the air intake valve.
We splashed it a bunch of times and nothing has ever happened but we have it under a covered area. I would assume it can be left out in the rain but I can’t find that information on their website or in the instructions.
@@FreshandFelicia Thanks for replying. Yeah I searched their website and instructions also, couldn't find anything. Weird! Usually they give you all kinds of warnings.
We’re in Florida, so it rarely freezes here. It’s actually a really good question for colder areas. They recommend you keep the pump running for areas that do go below freezing.
We have one of these for the rare weekend we're NOT cruising. There is something to be said about your own spa where you don't have to share certain DNA and boogers from unsupervised children! Excellent review and demonstration.
So the button for the air worked but it wouldn't shut off when I pressed the button? I had to unplug it. Not a good signe. Has any one experienced this?
Remember, the screen locks after about five minutes. You need to hold the lock/unlock button for 3 to 5 seconds, and then you can turn your bubbles off or adjust the temperature.
If it's the bottom you're asking about, it's got some sort of built-in padding that feels pretty good on the buttocks. There is no separate mat. But - friends of ours bought some kind of mesh chairs that actually sit in this thing! We're investigating this soon.
You absolutely can. But after finding out that bromine is illegal for consumer use in Canada, we got a little scared and decided to go with chlorine. Concerned we’ve never heard anything about the dangers of bromine here in the states.
We’re actually going to do a maintenance video showing this. But in the meantime, it’s got a recessed, flat, soft silicone-ish pull plug on the bottom floor inside the spa that leads to a plastic tube that you can connect to a standard garden hose and drain it anywhere you need to. Don’t worry, it’s almost impossible to pull it accidentally, and the external black plastic tube also has a threaded cap on it just in case. They really thought of everything! It works best when it’s gravity fed but you could siphon it to get it going if you’re on a weird incline. Hope this helps!
Prime Day #2 is coming in October! It’s definitely worth $500, but if you can wait, you might get it for under $400 like we did. We actually bought 2 so we have a backup 😎
I'm posting this question on different Coleman spa reviews to see if anyone can give an asnswer: Q: Is anyone having issues with their spa deflating over a few days' time? Slow leakage is common for may inflatable products, but these shoud be able to withstand someone checking their balance with a hand along the rim, without the water nearly spilling out. I have a large hand piston pump for inflatables that I use to top it up, but it's only two weeks old and the leak seems to be getting faster. I know: spray soapy water all over and look for bubbles. I was just wondering if this is well known, or whatever... Thanks. I'm asking because the Bestway site is useless, IMO.
@@FreshandFelicia I have the kit, but I was wondering if others were experiencing this slow death thing. I placed the tub on smooth pavers with sand grout, so no sharps. Plus it's sitting on a heavy duty polytarp. When I change the water in August, I'll place it on a 2" rigid foam insulation platform. If I can't locate the leak, I'll check it agian with no water in it so I can move it around and check the bottom of the ring. I'll mix up some dish detergent and start spraying all the seams and weldments around the pipes. No leak to the tub interior. Gotta be something extremely minor. We love the tub.
I winterized mine after the first season. Setting it back up every gasket on inside of tub connecting has failed and will not reinflate. I tried connecting to a Coleman representative and they asked for a five dollar charge per question online. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.
Ours is still perfect, but we don't have winters here in the South. As much as we use it and considering how inexpensive it is compared to the $15k fiberglass spas we looked at, we figured even if it tanks once a year, it's still worth $300-$400 a year to replace it. Still recommend it.
We just set ours up using your video, Thank you!! Questions: 1. How much did your power bill go up? 2. How often are you changing the water? 3. How often do you change filters?
Thanks for your note! To address your questions: 1. The first month is always the craziest because you'll heat it and probably use it every other day. Our Florida power bill increased about $100 to $150 that month. But it was super hot during June here, so some of that might have been excess cooling. But, see (2)... 2. Our first week, we did not run the filter daily, just when we used it. The water turned murky and green after about a week, so we dumped it and refilled. We then ran the filter (not the heater) every day to keep the chlorine circulating and kept the water for about a month. It still looked and tested well, but as a precaution, we dumped it. 3. With heavy use, we needed to change the filter weekly. Lots of hair, skin, people stuff in there. With lighter use, we got two to three weeks out of a filter. They're cheap and easy to change. Enjoy!

Awesome 😊
You need this in Philadelphia :)
@2:33
OHHHHH MYYYYY 🤣
Should you have the key on while warming it up
@@VanessaMcCrae-v1r key?
What about chemicals? All i saw you put in was chlorine tablets.
That’s all you need!
@FreshandFelicia everything I've read says you need PH and alkalinity chemicals along with chlorine.
@@DavidEdwardsMusic I had mine for 3 years now and only used chlorine, clear good water
How often do you change the filter and add new chlorine?
How much u think that's gonna mske the water bill be?
Not much at all. Think we see a $3 spike each time we fill it.
Only 240 gallons
Do you have to keep this plugged in all the time?
While it's filled, you should keep the water filtered and treated to avoid the growth of dangerous amoeba. 🦠 .
Roughly how much would you say it increases your electrical bill?
Has anyone used this is the winter
We’re in Florida, so it rarely freezes here. It’s actually a really good question for colder areas. They recommend you keep the pump running for areas that do go below freezing.
We have one of these for the rare weekend we're NOT cruising. There is something to be said about your own spa where you don't have to share certain DNA and boogers from unsupervised children! Excellent review and demonstration.
OOOOH we're coming over to share some DNA! It's really a nice unit for the price.
So im wondering can my 6'3 husband fit without having to bend his legs ?
Fresh is 6’ and he says he has a few inches to spare. TBH we have found most people sit on their legs because this dang thing is so deep!
How often do you shock it withchemicals.
We run it 12 hours a day and keep a 1” tablet in there until it dissolves, then replace it. We change the water every month. Hasn’t gone green since!
Does this come with a mat?
If it's the bottom you're asking about, it's got some sort of built-in padding that feels pretty good on the buttocks. There is no separate mat. But - friends of ours bought some kind of mesh chairs that actually sit in this thing! We're investigating this soon.
Thanks That’s what I was asking about is the separate mat.
This spa is $280 on Amazon right now!
Order two!
What about the floor am I suppose to inflate ?
There is no separate insulation for the floor. There is a soft foam mat that is enclosed, but no need to inflate it. Enjoy.
Can u use bromine instead of chlorine
You absolutely can. But after finding out that bromine is illegal for consumer use in Canada, we got a little scared and decided to go with chlorine. Concerned we’ve never heard anything about the dangers of bromine here in the states.
@FreshandFelicia I understand thank u appreciate ur help
How does the drain work?
We’re actually going to do a maintenance video showing this. But in the meantime, it’s got a recessed, flat, soft silicone-ish pull plug on the bottom floor inside the spa that leads to a plastic tube that you can connect to a standard garden hose and drain it anywhere you need to. Don’t worry, it’s almost impossible to pull it accidentally, and the external black plastic tube also has a threaded cap on it just in case. They really thought of everything! It works best when it’s gravity fed but you could siphon it to get it going if you’re on a weird incline. Hope this helps!
This spa is over 500$ now
Prime Day #2 is coming in October! It’s definitely worth $500, but if you can wait, you might get it for under $400 like we did. We actually bought 2 so we have a backup 😎
Hurry... it's 250 on Amazon today I just got mine
Thank you. But amazon won't deliver that to my area or any family surrounding areas
Who crapped in the water? Everybody OUT!!!
ewwww
I'm posting this question on different Coleman spa reviews to see if anyone can give an asnswer:
Q: Is anyone having issues with their spa deflating over a few days' time? Slow leakage is common for may inflatable products, but these shoud be able to withstand someone checking their balance with a hand along the rim, without the water nearly spilling out. I have a large hand piston pump for inflatables that I use to top it up, but it's only two weeks old and the leak seems to be getting faster.
I know: spray soapy water all over and look for bubbles. I was just wondering if this is well known, or whatever...
Thanks.
I'm asking because the Bestway site is useless, IMO.
@@John-d7p no air leakage here, over a year in service. They do include a patch kit.
Why is that
Why is what?
Thank you for this!!!! The instructions are 💩💩💩💩💩
Yeah it’s probably a bad Chinese translation. We had some trouble figuring it out too so just wanted to help. Glad you got it up and running.
9 hours to heat the water? Yikes!
No big deal. Turn it on in the morning before you go to work, it’s ready when you get home.
@@FreshandFelicia It's safe to leave the heater running for that long? I would get worried about it starting a fire.
Thank you! Very helpful!
Enjoy!
We just set ours up using your video, Thank you!!
Questions:
1. How much did your power bill go up?
2. How often are you changing the water?
3. How often do you change filters?
Thanks for your note! To address your questions:
Enjoy!
