When chat says wand is better than shadow bolt they don't mean the actual damage. Wanding means you start regenerating mana, it doesn't just COST no mana, it also makes you able to keep going pretty much infinitely while your dots and wand kill the enemy. And there's no downtime. Shadow Bolt might be more damage but the amount of mana spent by interrupting your mana regeneration and by using mana is incredibly unefficient. (Especially because usually your dots also don't even have the time to do their full work). Also keep in mind, Life Tap does not interrupt mana regeneration because it doesn't cost mana. Spells that cost no mana don't reset the 5 second rule.
Yes and no, from lvl 5 to 25-30ish depending on what wand u have and shadowbolt rank, wands can staight up out dps shadow bolt. In addition wanding is not affected by push back, so if you are taking dmg wanding quickly becomes even more through put.
@@jacobaaandersen The DPS difference isn't what makes wanding good but the elimination of your downtime does. DPS difference between wand and shadowbolt is a useless debate here. Pushback also shouldn't matter if you juggle the aggro between you and your pet right.
@@emberalus2229 That is a fair point, you were the one making the distinction to begin with, so I simply wanted to clarify that at some points during lvling wand do straight up out dps shadow bolts. I agree that the mana regen is a bigger factor and even if wands did less dmg you would still do it. Again all i said was not to start a discussion, but simply to clarify that wanding (esp early lvls), is not a major dps loss and it might even be a dps gain.
I love the idea that grubby just dropped samuels remains on the gates of the undercity, after telling his SO, he would bury it. There is no way that isnt getting back to them that their beloveds body was just found discarded like trash at the capital city of undead. At least throw it away in the forest grubby!
That wet/dry analogy is lowkey the by far dumbest thing i ever heard grubby say. :O Wc3 has toggles too, and they work exactly the same. Toggle your ice arrow on naga twice and it STOPS.
in the first clip you were dead without the help, even with the fence technique because you left too late, you were 1-2 hits away from dying and he would had hit you, chat was right 😁 You are right about the wand, its clunky and could be better
Yep he was 100% dead. Not sure why the guy with 20 hours of combined WoW time over 2 decades was trying to die on that hill. Nearly every single person in his chat has played the game more to orders of magnitude. He will learn the hard way :)
@@Pr0vidence555 When the rogue attacked, Grubby wasn't actually directly in front of the fence, he walked for another 1.5 seconds and then jumped, the moment he's running, and while in the air, he can and will be attacked (twice) which will be fatal. The mob's pathing doesn't break until you have landed on the other side of the fence ON the ground, if you are standing on top of the fence (or in midair) you can and WILL be attacked (trust me this has been tested literally thousands of times over the years... debating this is redundant). Hey Grubby I guess people told you already but elevators really are dangerous: if you try to step on them just before they are about to descent. Elevator will descend faster than you falling, resulting in death from falling damage. If you walk through UC elevator door right before they close this might happen for example.
To be fair, Grub, one hit and you could have been dead at the beginning. If you'd been dazed by one hit you would have been dead. People help each other in MMOs. It's just how it is.
Grubby doen't realize just how many people those elevators kill in hardcore. It's usually because they try to 'catch' the elevator - managing to clear the door but not actually touch the platform - so it leaves right as they step off the 'edge' --- and the elevator travels down faster than you fall. Aka, you chase the elevator on the way down and you die. Or they aren't paying attention when the elevator reaches the top floor - and they don't get out in time, so the door closes in their face - then the elevator drops out from under them, causing them to fall again. Love you to death Grubby, but you really should listen to your chat a little, tinsy bit more --- at least some of them. The dangers, and what will kill you - may not seem apparent at first. The first 10 levels are nothing like 11-20 and 21-30 is nothing like the previous. Something I didn't hear Soda or anyone else tell you - before level 11, you actually have BUFFED regeneration, both HP and Mana regen. Mobs under level 11 also move slower, attack slower, and have lower stats. Mobs that are 10 and under actually have debuffed movement speed, so they are easier for you to escape/run away from. Once you hit 11 though, and mobs hit 11 - the 'kid gloves' come off. They are faster, are harder to out run, and deal much more damage. You also take longer to heal between engagements. This is a hidden buff/debuff no one talks about.
The toolbars on the far right are kind of not necessary right now since you don't have any talents, just a tip if you're looking for a cleaner UI. You can also hide the outline of the toolbar icons not in use.
you can make a spammable wand macro, it's basically identical to the autoshot macro for hunters except you change the spell name, go have a look. you can also more/jump towards a direction near the end of the channel/cast so it isn't as clunky as you think, it just has a certain kind of skill ceiling funnily enough
grubby read this : the wand problem is not a problem is just an hidden mechanic, range weapon to auto attack initiate a cast and as any cast u need to be immobile to initiate it whatever the cast duration is, and its the same in other blizz game the only difference is that in bliz game the action of stopping ur character is automatic not in wow wich mean that when u are not immobile it cancel the next ranged auto attack but test this at home : toggle the ranged auto attack then move then stop when the second auto attack proc and the wand attack toggle will persist nothing will be cancel its confusing cause the cast of range auto is hidden and super short only the fact that u have to be immobile matter
I suggest to Grubby to make a simple experiment and compare two versions of the map on the same location. One from current "classic" WoW and one from original "vanilla" gameclient. Would be interesting to compare which one has the true Warcraft spirit and the original artist design of maestro Samwise Didier
You can wand, move, wand, move, etc…you just have to press it as soon as you stand still, let one shot go off, then move, press it, let a shot go off. It could work better, but WoW players are used to that. Melee works the way you’re talking about, and Hunter shots do as well. Wanda toggle off when you move, or do anything else. Most casters never use Wands in endgame. Think it was overlooked because of that.
For the toggle issue, that's the benefit to playing Hunter, they are the only move-autoattack-ranged class. Wands are more auxiliary for casters than autoattacks are for Hunters.
hey grubby, try zooming out the camera, it helps a lot in places with many mobs Edit: Yes the wand toggle is counterintuitive, the icon should at least change when you press it, so you know that if you press it again it'll stop, things like that happen when you are playing a 2004 game and have a comunity that rejects any kind of changes, i think that if not for the comunity (part of it) blizzard would have changed that when they re-launched classic on 2019
It's possible that some of the people who have helped grubby are not viewers. I generally would help anyone I see who is in danger of dying. It is possible that some people would prefer a completely solo experience, but without being able to know that, I'd rather not risk leaving someone dead, having lost many hours of effort and feeling like the world is a cold and uncaring place. However, if they are viewers chasing him around, then that's not super chill
I think his audience will ruin that for him. He is getting backseated like crazy and he said multiple times that he despises that. His main goal here is probably to pick up some of the WoW audience and hope that some of them stick to his regular content.
The unbalance of the glyphs and strange builds made the narcasistic dinks at blizzard shut it down. Wotlk gave us weird exploits. Having midgame imbalanced builds that didn't lend for permanent end game builds was something that kept the control freaks up all night every night hating anyone outside their pigeon hole ⛳ 🐦
I think it should be mandatory for kids to play some kind of team sport or team game growing up. Teaches how to work with others and play together, apes together strong! Some people think the world revolves around them me me me.
I don't think team games are enough to teach that. Kids only blame other for the teams' failure and never themselves. I think solo sports teach more about responsibility, but then again, maybe that I something you have to learn completely independently of games/sports
