    Thanks for the video. Ive seen probably hundreds of deer mushrooms in my life and always wondered if any of them were the magic kind.

    Отлично сделано это повествование! Плютеи, также растут и в отсутствии дождей во влажных местах леса и вблизи водоёмов.

      Thank you! 😀...and I agree, as long as the substrate is wet they will continue to fruit.

    Do both of these grow in Michigan?

    • @TREEfool
      @TREEfool  5 місяців тому +1

      I personally have never hunted that far East but you can check iNaturalist.org and do a local search for Pluteus americanus and Pluteus cervinus. I'd guess that Michigan has many species of Pluteus.

      I've seen a few of these on I naturalist in Michigan. I hope to observe it myself this year

    Are these potent?

      Miraculix tests show 0.9-1.0% psilocybin content.

      @@TREEfool so a single one would barely do anything. That’s good because the deer in my backyard are going to town on these

      @@TREEfool that sounds like a lot. Stamets reports 1.2 % for cultivated cube and 0.4% for P. salicinus (psilocin +psilocybin) in "psychedelic mushrooms of the world". Are you sure it is that potent with such a subtle bluing reaction?

      @@TREEfool that one is very blue. I found one that only blued at the basal bulb. It smelt strongly like sweet grain/cube instead of like radishes. Are there other species of psychoactive pluteus in the area also? less potent?

    If you ate it would it kill you?

      What state? I haven't seen any pluteus yet this year, but the two weeks of rain we've got should entice many genera to start fruiting.
