I know this video is 2 years old by now, but I just watched it. The Parker website says: "Please note the couplings on these fittings are only intended for use on hoses that have not previously been in service." I wonder how you feel about that precautionary statement. The hoses on my motor home are at least 8 years old, so I am concerned that the hose might fail at the fitting due to its age. The hose in question is 20 feet long, so I would much rather cut out the section with the leak and repair it, rather than replace it. Thanks for a great video.
Call the company that makes the synflex line and give them the part number on the hose. Then ask them if they have field serviceable connectors for that hose.
I have leak at fitting that connects to manifold. Will verify correct size and if so cut hose and install. If it works it will be a life saver. Thanks for the info
Thanks for sharing Cecil, I"m having some issues with my hydraulic hose. Can you share where did you get the fittings from. I have tried but no luck with a vendor. Thanks.
The repairman who fixed my rv at the park because the original hose blew out did the same. It leaked and he stated it was only a temporary fix. That is when I researched and found the fix designed by the hose mfg.
When trying to move (and eventually doing the repair in this video) I found my return line had been sampled on by a rat. The brass and clamps worked to get my slides in and jacks up to make my move happen. I had to re-patch the line 3 times before figuring out to not move the slides in 100%. That was putting max pressure on the return line and blew out the patch job.
The end that screws onto the hose are left handed threads (counter clockwise rotation to install) . In the video you are rotating the wrong direction and that is why it is not going on the hose very well.
I had to have a new hose made. Could not find the fittings. With the 7/16 JIC female and 1/4 hose end and 153" of hose, I paid $132. If I called Exotic Automation and gave them your part number would it fit my camper leveling system hose and the 7/16 JIC female?
You mentioned that the new Parker part # 2-651-r-4-4 will not work with older hose. Can you please elaborate? The original part# 20651-4-4 is no longer available anywhere.
A year ago I had leaks at the fittings on 2 hoses. Dealer called hydraulic company and they said must replace two hoses. (Hoses we’re not leaking) End result was (1) 10’ hose with (2) 90 deg. fittings, (1) 6’ hose with (2) 90deg fittings, and four hours total labor. The dealer did not charge me anything on top. My cost was $1,250.00. Sound like a fair price?
I recently bought a 14' 2-wire hydraulic hose from amazon with a 6,000 psi rating for $40. It was from a company called Gator Hose and I'm pretty sure you can order them with whatever length and fitting you need directly from their website. It may have been worth paying them to do it if the hoses were hard to get to. The hose that I replaced ran through my front storage compartment so it was very easy to access. I have a video about it on my channel.
1/4” 100R7 thermoplastic hose is $4 per metre. The 7/16” JIC swivel females are $5 each and a ferrule is less than a dollar each. If you got told $900 to repair they were having you on !
I use the same connections on my car haulers made by Cottrell trailers in Gainesville ga . They sell them OTC.
I did exactly this, took 20 minutes, and it works great! The parts were perfect and worked exactly as described. Thank you for the save!

Mine was 10 years old and it worked fine. That was three years ago and it is still working.
Is this 1/8” line that’s in the video? I have an 1/8” Synflex line I need to fix. This video is exactly what I had in mind!

could you share the parts number for the male to male coupling? Great video btw!
I have added it to the description. IT is 4 HTX-S.

Did it work?
@@cecilwoodworking7204 No the hose was to brittle had to replace. But have the fittings for future use, great idea.

I added my source In the description.
Fixed mine with Barbed Brass Coupling and 2 hose clamps on each end.

I went to the distributor to get this coupling, but it would not fit my 2006 Beaver Monterey line. They said the coupling only works on Parker hoses.
contact the manufacturer of your unit and ask them who makes the hose they use.
They make a single and double braid field repair fitting, single is what is needed on these. I repair my drain jetting hose the same way.
This braid is not metal so it takes a different fitting.
I use them everyday, I repair my hydro jetting hoses with them all the time, they are nylon braid so the single braid works the best.
Any idea a part number on the single braid field repair fitting? I can only find 2 wire...

look at the part number on your hose, the should be able to match the at exotic, Good Luck

Check with parker their phone number is 330-296-2871. I fixed my unit and latter sold it. so I no longer have hoses to repair.
Did you find out if the 20651r-4-4 worked?

Sounds way over priced.
I’m interested in part numbers as well please

Hi this is exactly what i need but I live in the UK, any idea of someone who ships this to uk? Thanks for any help 👍
Parker Hannifin Kingswinfor, UK 44 1384 282777
If you brought that to my hose trade counter, we’d make you a whole brand new one for less than $30 !!!!

The hose ran the full length of the RV so all the panels had to be removed. $125 per hour plus travel plus the hose.
If i had to replace the entire hose i would tape the new hose to the old and pull it all the way through.
