    I have just watched the post test Wales vs Springboks which the Wales won 24-22 on Supersport with Naas and co. One very good positive bout the whole discussion is that you guys have a AWESOME studio guys. Beautiful and looking fucking great.

    You must give the Welsh Credit there a former Rugby Power and it is nice to see the Welsh back because they went through a tough time in the 1990’s losing so many players to R.L .
    They now got there act together again because the Welsh were the very first team to beat NewZealand Allblacks , we need a good Wales team .

    That last comment about Ireland being the first northern hemisphere team to beat NZ, SA & AUS in a calendar year is wrong, England did it in 2003. Beat NZ & AUS in June (both away) and then SA & AUS the World Cup

    The game has become incredibly quick when it comes to 1) option taking to apply pressure at the breakdown and 2) running onto off-loads (where the NH sides are now bettering the SH) as well as 3) scrambling defense (where the ABs still have an edge on everyone). Also, most teams can now confidently handle this speed by passing and defending very flat with few turnovers, and they apply substitution appropriately to handle the high tempo. It's great rugby.

    Get rid of the quota system, that should solve at least 60% of the problem

    • @mursyidomar6995
      @mursyidomar6995 8 років тому +1

      The quota system cripples the whole structure of SA Rugby, it is not just about the Selection policy of Springboks, it affects the unions, the schools, and grassroots rugby. I suppose you are not aware that a lot of young SA talent are leaving because of this policy.

    • @mursyidomar6995
      @mursyidomar6995 8 років тому +1

      The problem with your argument is that the Rand has always been weak compared to Euros for years, yet players stay and only left when they are close to the twilight of their careers, but now, more of them are leaving very early, and ended up playing, and performing well for other countries.
      I've mentioned previously, quotas cripple the whole system, so it's pointless to analyse a single game, in terms of selection, which players should or should not play when in fact the boks has lost many games. Quotas meant many talented players have been sieved out from schoolboy age. and also at provincial level. Weak provinces meant weak Super rugby teams, which translates into weak Springboks team.
      Of course the mentality has to change, like I said, getting rid of quotas does not solve the whole problem.

      Munster will be doing everything they can to hang onto Rassie. He's having a great season with them so far. No idea how SARU let him go.

    • @DrCDBDC
      @DrCDBDC 8 років тому

      Rassie is smart enough to know that SARU would have set him up to fail...(he's not the only one) AC is a poor coach, but that's not the only "challenge". I think I'll be focused more in 7's :)

    • @jonathanziman6269
      @jonathanziman6269 7 років тому +1

      Being the Bok head coach unfortunately comes with an elephant shitload of political BS. Rassie simply doesn't have time or patience for it and is more than likely the reason why Mallet also turned down the position It's stressful enough being the head coach of any international side but in SA one is expected to produce results with all the political interference and quota nonsense.

  • @xpat73

    the Boks have lost a lot of good players to Europe. However, the used to be able to bludgeon other teams with sheer size and power. You can't do that anymore. Teams can match them physically and the skill, technical ability and speed of the top teams has surpassed them.

    In my years of watching rugby, never before have I ever seen such a a depressed, listless looking Springbok side. When they showed the footage of the team disembarking the bus, the low morale was as clear as day! They lost the match long before they even walked out onto the field.

    Unfortunately even these gents don't hand out to Alister what he deserves for such shocking coaching. Forget falling back on players, the players are rubbish mostly because they've been very poorly coached and prepared before games. As to Alister staying on because of his contract, what rubbish! He has shown that he just doesn't have to dig this team out of a hole.

    No one is facing the fact that SA have got politics and sport mixed. If I were a Springbok potential I would leave after my matric because its a lotto whether you'll make it on merit if you white.

    Wales were awful to be honest and I'am a Welshman , the Boks not for me to comment but they'll be back there to good , but every nation will go through it like England have Aus have and NZ it will happen too only a matter of time we'll Ireland beat them .
    We need all these nations to be back to there best especially the Boks which I have a lot of respect for there rugby.

    • @mizofan
      @mizofan 7 років тому

      If Wales play in the 6 nations as they have done this autumn they will finish no better than 5th. I am shocked to see the decline of SA rugby. I expect things will turn round in a year or two, but it's very competitive among the top 4 countries- England, NZ, Ireland, Australia- now. As in 1987 world cup, so in 2015 world cup; being ko'd by Wales has been a blessing in disguise for England, since they have a super coach now, a very powerful team. Wales need refreshing, last time Howley was head coach it took a while to get things right then Wales improved and trashed England, but it will need a big improvement soon. I doubt there is the physical power and strength in depth.

      Your attitude sucks dude. Last decent coach we had was Pieter de Villiers and, if memory serves me correctly, he was not white.
      Feel free to argue the point and belittle him all you want (as so many white people do) but before doing so, please remember that he put a Tri- Nations trophy and a B & I Lions Tour trophy in the cabinet, gave England the biggest hiding they have ever had on home soil with a team that was more transformed than the current one, and beat the All Blacks how many times?
      btw, I am white too, but sick of all this "coloured people can't play / coach rugby" total bullsh1t that so many white South Africans tend to stand by...

    question you have to ask...why are so many competent WHITE rugby players leaving - ultimately poor economic management over the past 20+ years is a root cause.
