✅ Hey everyone!! Thank you so much for taking the time to watch my videos. Please remember to Subscribe if you are new here and to smash that Like button. I did want to comment and let everyone know that when I talk about the "correct" play, please note that I am looking at each hand as a whole in and of itself. I think, generally speaking, this is the mindset of most casual players. With that said, please note that there could be a "better" play based on card counts and/or shoe composition. BUT, for the purpose of my channel, we are almost (I say almost because sometimes I'll press my bet if I see lots of small cards come out in hopes of seeing some big ones on the next hand.) exclusively looking at each hand and considering only the cards on the table - not the previously played and discarded. 😊👍
Thats so funny to see the 8's split and re split , I was at a casino last week and I had gotten the same hands and the exact same amount of money but lost lol (edit) I went with $500 and ended up losing left and right on double deck so I switched to 6 deck shoe tables with $300 and ended up going all the way down to $75 with it all and came all the way back to a total of $1,025 so I had to win more than x10s that $75 all thanks to stupid decision doubles and splits loll
Blackjack is definitely one of those games that you can come back from. You just need a little knowledge and a lot of luck! Glad it worked out for you. Sounds like you got on a crazy good run!
GG on going even - glad you’re allowed to resplit Aces here! (I know I have been hyper focused on rulesets in your comments and elsewhere but people should know how important that stuff is!)
I completely agree. I know there are a lot of blackjack channels out there for people to watch but that's how I hope my channel is a little set apart. I really want people to be able to learn a bit (even when they disagree despite seeing the stats 😁) as well as be entertained.
3:27 “even when that happens it’s the right play” Yes i agree in most cases But you also have to see the cards I seen pro black jack players stay on a 6,10 against a Face 10 & win Sometimes you have to ignore what the book says or “the right thing to do” Because of the cards that are coming out or have came out already. If you see a bunch of high cards Then you know for sure that there is a 80% chance You will get see a low card on the next hit.
So what I guess I need to make sure people understand is that when I am making these statements, I am talking to the average, non-card counting player. I actually did a video on it but my quality looked horrible so I need to redo it. Basically people need to know that there is a spectrum of players who will have the best odds - from the player with no knowledge all the way to the card counter. So I am talking to people who are playing with basic strategy and looking at the hand independent of other hands. I feel like that's where most people are at.
Hi. I love your videos focusing strictly on blackjack. It is one of my favorite games when i gamble. Also, its great that you play the side bets. I am a new subscriber. Are you a full time youtuber?
If I were a full time UA-camr I'd be living in the street. Lol. My little paycheck from UA-cam basically covers my airfare and travel expenses to create the videos. We are a small channel so don't generate much income. Hopefully one day though. That would be a dream come true! My husband and I own a couple of small businesses, and this is a passion project for me.
Solid play Kelly. The shoe had a nice flow towards positive territory, especially at the end. Doubling 9 vs 2 was correct as the count warranted it. In fact, you lose almost nothing on doing that, even in 6D. It's the same as splitting 44 vs 4. You increase more variance, that's all. More variance is better entertainment :) Do you think you can get a lower angle next time, so the discard tray will show?
Thanks Morgan. They had the tray pushed to the very back edge of the table so in order to get it, I would have to be almost head on. When I have filmed like that in the past, people said that it was difficult to see the dealers cards well. I'll try to get a wider angle next time or just ask the dealer to pull it up a bit closer. Since it was my first time filming there, I didn't want to make too many demands. lol. I will be back there later this month filming Blackjack, High Card Flush, and Baccarat.
@@BeyondBlackjack I have found that estimating the number of decks still in play is easier b0y looking at the shoe. Because exactly one deck is obsecured in the front of the shoe and most dealers cut out one deck. Think about the details and you will see how this is easer.
@@bradfordwramsden7499 Perhaps. Red Rock are known for their deep cuts. I guess it ranges between 4.5/6 - 5/6. We shouldn’t rely too much on the vision of the decks left to be played. It’s easy to get fooled when the cards are being flattened out. Looking at the decks in the discard tray should yield more precise information.
Maybe check the strategy on that. A soft 18 against a 9 is a Hit. Here are the stats on this hand. (Keep in mind these numbers are looking at this hand, and this hand only - not taking into account any cards previously played.) This hand is very often listed as one of the most misplayed hands in blackjack, along with not hitting a 12 against a dealer 2 or 3, or not doubling an Ace against a dealer 10. As you can see from the numbers, this is more often a "losing" hand no matter what (hence the - ), but hitting is a better option than standing. There will always be times when the "correct" play doesn't work, but I am still going to stick with the play that is statistically better. I truly apperciate your smart, intelligent play and your understanding the variations in basic strategy that comes with the number of decks being used.
Agree with FM. It would be better to play 1 or 2 videos with $5+ side bet action and some with no sidebets than videos where the side bet has no potential to ever hit above $200. (at least in BJ) In the other games like 3 card poker and high card flush, the side bets should usually equal to (or may even exceed) the main game bet.
@@BeyondBlackjack Of course the experts will come forward telling you to bet more on the side bets AFTER having seen you win. If you would have lost they would have told you to not bet them at all. Hindsight in a nutshell…
Excellent dealers...I always compliment dealers that are fast and smooth. Win or lose. Sadly, on the east coast casinos are so understaffed(because of the unemployment boost) 1/2 the dealers are new and terrible..you play at a full table, its 3-4 minutes a hand. I think this dealer is excellent..so smooth and fast. Theyre so bad they paid me 4-5 times on either pushes or losses and I don't say anything. If they make mistakes, not my job to correct them. The dealer who saw you put down 2 green on side bets didn't stop you. My main point is you're lucky to be playing w/ excellent dealers.
I definitely concur that these dealers are excellent! I also always appreciate when I play with a dealer long enough that they know my play and will question me if I am doing something sort of out of my norm. A couple of them have done that when I wasn't paying attention and I was so thankful.
You are so welcome! Honestly I always prefer to lose and come back to even rather than win early and lose to even. Lol. Even with slots. When I lose, lose, lose and hit something big to bring me even, I am on cloud nine at the end of the night. If I hit big early on and give it back, I am so mad - even though I end up even. It's a psychological thing I guess. 😉😁👍
Its a game of chance. Yes the book says this and book says that. When you play one on one its the player vs dealer. You try to get a feel how the cards roll. When you have other players on the table they all have to play with the same strategy as you. Double down hands can make or break you. I have played I could not lose a double down. Walked out with some bank. Other times could not win a double down hand walked out with lint in my pockets. As far as splitting you can win double or lose double. My theory is you force the dealer to bust when you have a soft 18 and the dealer has 9 showing. If they have a 10 or face card you get beat. If dealer has a 9 underneath you push.
I wonder how you end up with that EV. Given 100 hands per hour, that number is equivalent to a 20% disadvantage, which is pretty preposterous. Even slotplayers don’t accept that kind of odds. Wanna share your calculations?
Thank you. I'm probably a bit older than most of them. Lol. More experience helps for sure, but I also study the game a lot. I'm happy that you notice. Some of my play really confuses people when it goes a bit beyond basic strategy, but I always try to explain it and put the stats on the screen. I'm not a card counter but definitely try to play the stats the best I can.

Lol camera stuck I can’t turn it off!!!
Lol. I was going to cut that part but my son said it was funny and that I should keep it. 🤣
You had me rolling on that one!! Loved the splitting aces for the win
Great play!!
Thanks! This shoe was finally going on the right direction.
Very exciting shoe! Glad you ended up in the end! 🍀
I know!! What a rollercoaster of a run that day. I was way down and came all the way back up and then some. 👍💕
Great job.
That was great!! Love that they let you re split the aces. We wanted to at GVR Sunday but we weren’t in the high limit then. Love your videos :)
Yeah, I was really lucky that they let me film in the high limit area for sure.
Good come back 🏃♀️
aces...that fits you perfectly
Does Red Rock Really Have Many 3/2 blackjack Non automatic shuffling shoes?
Yep!
Nice session 🙂
I want to play this with you so bad. I feel like I learn so much each time. Thanks for the amazing video Kelly! 🍀🍀♥️

interesting side bets never seen no straights paid

Definitely a nice shoe! I had some good luck over the weekend too, side bets paid out a ton for me!
Very nice! I haven't had much luck with side bets - except when I am not playing them. Lol.
You were hitting so many pairs. They are pretty streaky. Definitely should have upped your pair side bet.
You were killing it on the splits and doubles
That's where we have to make the money. It's so great when they work out!
👍
Like your betting strategy..better than others I have seen here
Thanks! It's a " play longer, lose minimal" strategy. lol. 😊😉

I think you should bet more on the side bets, one or two dollars isn’t really worth the bet tbh..
I lost a ton on side bets so betting more would've just made me lose more. Gotta play smart.
Yeah those side bets will get you but it was a good shoe for you! I’m surprised you didn’t up your bet whenever you started hitting

$40 an hour that's a good salary for beginners. If your could do that 8 hrs a day daily plus overtime you could afford the Saturday nite buffet
Lol. Those buffets are pricey. 😂😁😉
It's rather $40/15 min. If this result was linear with her EV, she would be making 4 times as much/hour, in other words $160. But that's a big IF ;)
