Selby can change his game to suit the opponent. He's an adaptive player and that's why he's such a dangerous player. He's good at mind games and has the patience of a Saint. He's a joy to watch
Agree on most points. but I thought he could have been a bit more gracious in defeat at the end of the match and shaken hands with Robertson. Well, may be the power of money gained or lost has a great deal to do with our attitudes. So much for the Olympian spirit.
@@Sharukin88Arsanis This is from the "glorious" Corona times, where noone was supposed to shake hands. Selby is a very fair player, just like everyone else in the sport.
@@Sharukin88Arsanis First of all, be careful about commenting on someone's manner. We don't know if you are half as decent as your high horse is carrying you. Secondly check the date, shaking hand was not recommended even if you were bathed in sanitizer. Thirdly, stop passive aggressiveness towards people with money just because you haven't got enough of it.
Wonderful quip from commentator when the clearance masters finally were reduced by the pressure to surprising misses on what a frame earlier had seemed a "gimmie" : "The machines have become humans!"
I was pretty disappointed that Selby didn't offer to shake hands with Robertson after the match. It was a great give and take all the way through and I didn't see any reason that Mark should have been upset with Neil. Very surprised.
He probably feels a bit disrespected. In a way, Robertson wasn't playing him; he was playing Trump, due to their wager over tonning. Neil was clearly going after the centuries, which bothered him.
its only because the match took place at the time the when the pandemic was at its peak and the players were discouraged maybe even disallowed to shake hands. mark selby is a true gentleman and an olympic. they played a few games head to head in 2021 and they've seemed to had no problems.
Stephen Hendry was spot-on excellent job with the commentary Mark give it a good shot Neil Robinson capitalize Stephen Hendry if you ever give up snooker you will make a good commentary person job well done like they would say over there in the UK Bravo job well done A+ across-the-board
I don't know a lot about snooker, can anyone please explain to me at 40:26 why Robertson didn't just put white ball at a good position and hit the red ball to score when he had the white ball in hand?
In Snooker, ball-in-hand placement is not free. It is limited to within the half-circle. With that constraint in mind, he placed the cue ball where he found it to be optimal.
I remember watching this match live during the lockdown in 2020. Scintillating snooker this was, and in a weird way the lack of an audience gave it a sense of uniqueness. If there was a crowd I'm sure they would have been loving every minute like I did
I cant believe that they haven't got a better way to replace the balls in their exact places after a foul than the one they have now. I have an idea but would want to patent it first and I would say it is 99% accurate no question!
Neil Robertson is now the World Champion; this was a very biased commentary where anything Selby did was wonderful, but Robertson's many amazing long pots were never acknowledged as being as brilliant as they were.
Filmed at the height of the pandemic so no hand shaking - Selby is currently ranked number 1 and as its his job he can play in any style he wants to - and finally if Selby upsets you so much you don't have to watch him. Switch off and watch Coronation Street. -

The guys with the cameras are fantastic. Split-second timing from overview, to view from the inside of the pocket (pot). Really cool.
Best semi in my memory!
Throughout the entire match, the audience was so respectfully quiet that you'd scarcely know they were even there!
That's the finest snooker i think i've ever seen..

Robertson is the player playing Top skills and Top snooker Kung -Fu.
Both players are exillent
This should be an Olympic sport.
Hendry is as fantastic of a commentator as he was a player!

Yeah, very naturally speaking with great insight. He knows the players games well too.

But not in world championships
Not at all cause the history record is 19 mark .. 18 neil

13:54 the premature century applause.

Yeah, the sound guy pushed the button too early.

Did we watch the same game?
Is that the referee's breathing we can hear? Clothing movement? Made this impossible to watch with sound on.
This gentleman should not play with Trump, he insults both Selby and Sullivan, he should be exiled to hard labor.
Lol 🤭🤭🤭🤭… this match is in 2020 . Is this History Channel for snooker?????

Boring Selby . Keeps on staring at table
2 good players but there game is boring not like trump or ronnie
spot on mate 👌
If they paid me the dollars or pounds these people get paid I'd pot all the balls to just like that there's no pressure free money
