RECIPE: Pulla / Cardamom buns / Laskiaispulla
Basic recipe for pulla / cardamom buns
Ingredients: 5dl of milk, 50g yeast, 1 egg, 1½ dl sugar 120 g), 1 teaspoon salt, 1 tablespoon cardamom, about 1kg of white flour, 100 - 150g of melted butter.
Preparation: Dissolve the yeast in the warm milk, break an egg into it, add sugar, salt cardamom, start adding flour, add the melted butter, let it rise for about 30min, knead the dough, start forming the buns, add almond past inside if you want, let the buns rise 10-20min, smear the buns with a beaten egg, garnish with crunchy granulated sugar if you want, bake 225 degrees for 10-12 minutes
To prepare the "laskiaispulla":
You also: need wipping cream, almond paste or strawberry jam
Do not add the almond paste before cooking. When the buns are cooked, cut off the top, add the strawberry jam or almond paste (make it softer by mixing it with a little warm milk), add the whipped cream, put the top of the bun back on, dust with icing sugar.
