That's the second time Necip has fumbled the grenade launcher lmao, first time was I think was a hostage rescue at a university where he shot a fence and fragged himself on live tv
Dude, that allied militia guy is a badass. He starts surrounded by traitors and fights 3v1, killing two by himself and getting shot point-blank in the back by an AK, but lives long enough for his buddies to kill the guy behind him. Then, he keeps firing on the machine gun ambush to the north, killing another baddie or two while the homies get to cover and take the position. Once that's clear, he runs up into the killzone with only the squishy chassis of a civilian truck for cover. While getting hosed with machine gun fire, he stands up and throws a couple of grenades through the smoke, finally taking a knee, presumably to put pressure on his chest wound and keeps his insides in.
Man I love these practical explanations of battle doctrine. They are super useful to send to my friends to learn and tighten up our own gameplay. Doorkickers is a fantastic way to show and explain all these concepts. Keep up the great work man!
9:35 Not finished and I’m already massively impressed - your breakdown of the reaction to short ambushes and the different types of fire.. this is why when it comes to tactical content you mix gaming and education and it’s awesome :).. You should run more PacMac style real-life courses.. you have a gift for sharing information in a way that makes people want to listen.
Hey man, you handled that really well considering the layout. The thing with militia is that you need two men to handle a one man job, 3 or 4 to do a two man job and so on. Personally I like to stack them up in two man teams, one holding the gun over his buddy's shoulder. Weapon variety also seems to matter more with those guys, if you want a quick shot youn will have to give them a weapon with a high "aim speed" stat or they will generally lose against trained insurgents. Finally, crap ammo together wih crap accuracy is not a good combo, I've seen basic insurgents tank 4 basic AK rounds before going down. Another good reason to always have multiple militias watching the same corner, window or doorway.
Absolutely off-the-wall mission. I used rangers and the crouch function to keep my guys alive, and more grenades than I can count. Been trying to do a CIA run but I don't think it's possible without the ability to use the mg's against the enemy in the game.
I managed a CIA run, it was fkn rough and I think I lost all but 2 guys but it was possible. Mainly about flashing/nading each MG position then pieing it in quick succession whilst they're stunned. You have to stack one side of the convoy though, you can't split.
The explanation of the battle doctrine and how you approached this mission really helped me form a plan that worked. I've been diving into this game lately and you videos have really helped me develop better battle plans. This map was very difficult, but I handled it by having the soldiers at the front vehicle kneeling behind the car doors and dropping smoke grenades at their feet. That limited the machinegun fire from the east, cutting the map off into an east and a west section. With my forces on the west side, this forced the mobile ambushers to come through the smoke to get at me. Not much blind fire through smoke apparently. Meanwhile, the rest of the team took down the machinegun from the north-west. Then I threw grenades past the smoke and cleaned up the eastern section. Very dicey and I had to trust the random generator to give me some luck, but I managed to get through it with no casualties. I appreciate your in-depth explanation of tactics and gear ahead of missions in this game. Very helpful.
I beat this level with the SWAT team, I guess by sheer luck, because I tried to replay it and all my guys were wiped in seconds every time. Switched to the Rangers, same luck. BUT I did beat it once, so I'll take the W and move on.
You did way better than I did my first time doing this level! I did eventually get 3 stars, but the only way I managed it was to sorta cheese it, I only had a 3 member team with 2 below the armored vehicle and 1 above it. Without the 1 above, the enemy just immediately killed the allied militia, but with him there it pulled focus towards him and off the militia guy, who could then kill the few who start around him. Then I just had that one above sprint down to the cover of the armored truck and the cliff, and worked from there to pie off the rest of the map. Tough level for sure!
I find with the Militia they work well if you pair a FAL guy with an M16 equiped buddy. The FAL takes a bit to get on target but it's near always a killshot while the burst fire of the M16 buys time for the FAL. The M16 is also decent on it's own.
On the briefing screen, when you are equipping your troops, if you click where it says "squad" in the upper right corner, you can change the unit you're controlling. As in, you don't need to use the Nowheraki SWAT for this mission (or any mission). You can use the Ranger squad that you've leveled up and bought gear for.
Shit happens in war. It's just the nature of the beast, especially when you're on the X of an ambush without the luxury of pre-planning an assault (instead having to hastily execute a counter-assault). This reminded me a lot of a scene in "Mosul", where the SWAT team is also on the receiving end of an ambush: some needless mistakes are made, but they were also unavoidable in the chaos. Good work overall in not losing everyone, though. I'd imagine in a real situation, that would be the best-case scenario!
Man, this friggin mission. I dork out over every stage and try to beat it with no casualties (like in DK1 campaign mode, where they died for good). But not this one, lmao, I was happy when two of my guys made it out at all.
Best way to get through this without casualties: Just two guys behind the middle car, and all the frag grenades you can carry and one smoke. Takes a couple of minutes to clear the mission with perfect score :'D Use your guy that starts on the left to carped bomb the machine gun nests in north. First should go behind the sandbags somewhere in the middle, because it's important to take out the rpg quickly to save your ally. Meanwhile your guy that starts on the right keeps his eyes toward the white truck because baddies will push from there. After the carpet bombing move the guy on the left and fetch your ally, then they move right (north side of the cars) to stand between the machine guns and the white truck (use white truck as cover from the machine gun in south). Smoke the road to blind the gunner at the end of it. Frag and push the southern machine gun. Frags, frags and frags all the way to the right, move using the bus as cover from the last machine gun nest, kill him, and you're done. I guess you could save time by taking a grenadier and slamming the western machine gunner with a 40mm through the smoke.
I want to say i really love how you say you will have dead in your rank as well , i know it sound silly but it had another level of realism , espiecially when you say it before your try beguin to really think about your strategy.
I've done it with high tier Rangers with mk18s and good ammo. They can reliably kill 1 guy each before they get a shot off. Then it's an even fight after that.
It is possible to get 3 stars with swat without militia or cheesing, you just need to move all your guys behind the humvee out of all the hostile firing lines and chuck frags everywhere, also the rpk comes in very handy here to stop hostiles from advancing while they push your position edit: i uploaded my own replay on my channel if anyone needs it good luck kickers
