We've mastered the square jellyfish tank! And you can have your very own jelly tank if you want, it might be a little less confrontational that way... ;- )
@carbonnoid This jellyfish tank design is called a Modified Tumbler Box, or simply a Tumbler. It has a screen protecting the overflow along with a spray bar to help move the jellies away from the area.
Katie Hill your wrong! I have 9 and I feel it when I clean there tank they bump on my arm and I always have a rash on my inner arm like poison ivy, I can feel there sting which is light it’s to paralize there live food.

How do you stop them from being sucked into the filter?

This is a tumbling tank. It works well for this species of jellyfish. Kreisel tanks (round ones) are often used as well.
Would it be possible to add a mud refugium to a system like this to provide a source of natural plankton and filtration?

They do, it’s just not enough to actually break skin, or harm a human to bad
