The devil was man-made by organized religion so somebody had an escape goat. It's all bs. We need to blame ourselves for the stupidity that goes on in this world.
Pilate washing his hands is indeed where the expression comes from, he didn't want to take the responsibility of Jesus' crucifixion. When speaking about The Czar and his ministers, he's referring to the Russian Revolution of 1917, the birth of USSR.
That last line for me says it all, "Tell you one time, you're to blame". For me it's always meant that as much of a badass as the devil is, he's not to blame for all the world's woes, that humans are their own worst enemy, that we need to smarten up and stop pointing at the devil for all the bad things that people themselves are responsible for.
Mick (Lucifer) had already said that with the line about the Kennedy assassinations, "...when after all, it was you and me." So the, "you're to blame", line at the end should not be some revelation about Lucifer's message.
"One time your to blame" says it all. We did all these historical things and then blame a devil that does not exist. Mankind is the devil. Brilliant song writing and delivery.
Yeah the point of this song is definitely that people want to find someone to blame for their evil deeds rather than take responsibility. Whether you believe in the devil or not, he's saying stuff like "I shouted out 'Who killed the Kennedys?' when after all it was you and me!", or "I watched with glee as your kings and queens fought for ten decades fir the gods they made". If there is a devil the song is saying "yes, I had a hand in all this evil but don't just blame it on me". People need to take responsibility for the mayhem they cause.
Yes! We all had and still have a hand in this. I am no longer religious, but from what I understand, the devil was an angel that was cast out of heaven for our own deeds and sins. We are all now paying the price for it. At least that is what I got from some time ago. BTW... I am agnostic these days.

He is best known for being the official who presided over the trial of Jesus and ultimately ordered his crucifixion.[7] Pilate's importance in Christianity is underscored by his prominent place in both the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds. Have some sympathy, how can you blame an unknown entity (guess my name) for the f-ed up actions of all man and women kind?
In the words of a grea 13:58 t comedian, "If you can't wrap your head around the fact most people are capable of the worst awful things that you can imagine, then I think this says more about you than me!
Yes, you really need to learn history. Lots and lots of bloodshed.
You are not reacting to the music, but reading the lyrics 😢
To many stops, all about the lyrics
No reactions on the music, not the guitar solo's not the percussion or wathever.
Such a shame
Then the flip side to that is “You didn’t even listen to the lyrics, you just bobbed your head the entire time” so I guess it’s personal preference
think you could stop it more?
Way too many interruptions dude.
Smh
Man, I wanted to listen, but stop stop stop stop stop stop stop. That doesn’t work for me, I believe you miss the song like you miss the forest examining every single tree. Let the song roll a bit more.
Far too much stop start. Just let the music flow without stopping and commenting every 10 seconds. So frustrating.
Too many interruptions
Be quiet
TMT-(too much talk)
I’m an atheist but as far as I know, Pilate is who stabbed Jesus n killed him. The devil is saying that’s his influence.
Nope
@@dalemerrifield8308 then he musta been the one who sentenced him. I mix up my fairy tale names sometimes 🤷♂️
@@Bear78420That's right - Pontius Pilate was the Roman governor who sentanced Jesus to be crucified. He asked the crowd if he should pardon Jesus, but they said "no", so he washed his hands of the situation (literally), putting the blame back on the crowd.
@@Bear78420 Well you have a good excuse. Although, to be an atheist, shouldn't you know more about theism? Or maybe you do, and just aren't familiar with the biggest story about Christianity's main figure. In truth, I'm just trolling you a little, because religion is perhaps the greatest evil of our time. But I grew up a Christian and feel like I have a lot of knowledge that helps me see that it is mostly smoke and mirrors.
The boy pauses after every verse like he’s teaching a class on how to not get subscribers.
Not a good way to attract viewers.
