Richard Rohr, OFM (born 1943) is an American Franciscan priest and writer on spirituality[1] based in Albuquerque, New Mexico.[2] He was ordained to the priesthood in the Roman Catholic Church in 1970, founded the New Jerusalem Community in Cincinnati in 1971, and the Center for Action and Contemplation in Albuquerque in 1987. In 2011, PBS called him "one of the most popular spirituality authors and speakers in the world".[3] I was raised Catholic ❤
Hi there, here’s a short article about it: cac.org/daily-meditations/a-holy-balancing-act-2023-02-06/ Richard Rohr is a Franciscan priest and teacher. You might like his work! He has several books, Falling Upward is a great place to start. 😊
3 Nephi 9 is a huge problem for me. Cross vision doesn’t help. In fact, that is the problem. City after city after city is destroyed and then He invites the survivors to feel His wounds. It doesn’t make sense. For me, 3 Nephi 9 is not the nature of God. Does anyone have any advice? I cannot worship a god behind a story like 3 Nephi 9.
They also discuss about other scriptural accounts thta shows the tender mercies of God. You can also draw from your own persona experience with God. Lastly, learn from our rich tradition and other faiths.
If you believe that Lehi's family came out of an Old Testament context (600BC), then the destruction reported is consistent with the Old Testament God. (Sodom and Gomorrah, the flood, etc.)
@@cinnimini404 Good question. I guess I am asking how David and others digest it in a manner that allows them to bear witness of the truthfulness of the BoM or express love for the BoM.
If we shouldn’t have the mindset of “if only these traditions had what we had” then what mindset should we have? And if other religions are true and you believe them, why would we send them missionaries if their traditions already so amazing and truth filled? It seems to me in being SO accepting you’ve negated the very reason for God’s one true church.
It's always a challenge to hold ourselves to God's standards, instead of judging Him according to our own ideals.
What a great episode! Thank you

Jesus is the ONLY way to God!
Apparently there are two David Butlers! Thought this was about “in the language of Adam” book
What scripture is he referring to about the cross being the best image we have of Christ?
Surely the scriptures where Jesus is on the cross.
