      Love to see some sponsor interaction in the comments :) You should make Emma your spokes person :) Any chance you guys will get a norwegian dealership anytime soon? Have been looking to upgrade my DIY Cardboard/Parchement/Aluminium Foil selfmade lightdome and construction site lamp monster, but was hoping to rent and test your color light for a couple of days and test out in my shop/workshop/studio, but can’t seem to find any dealerships here in Norway?

      @@iFootageInternational Great :) Norway isn’t the biggest market in terms of people, like compared to Sweden, but there are a large enthusiast crowd with money to burn, even in these slightly trying times :) Having just started making videos myself after almost a year of planning and testing and fixing audio and what not I decided to just «do it», and made the first video about how I on a «zero+» budget could build a somewhat usable keylight with a softbox made from cardboard and alu-foil and parchement paper to minic a proper light setup and see how well it could work (of course the major drawback is not being able to adjust the strength so multiple layers of parchment is necessary to adjust strength of the light, and with three videos done and at least 10 more planned I’m definitely in the market for a reasonable priced product to up the flexibility and effectiveness of my setup for the product shoots I’m planning for my shop :)

    I see the amarans all over professional sets now. As long as you have them in a case, they hold up extremely well. I see more and more owner operators/van operators leaning heavily on the amaran series as it is cheaper, smaller and lighter, with the same or near same professional quality. I guess it's a sign of the times. Great job Emma!

    I highly enjoyed this video! Go Emma!
    Ifootage has not being pushing their led lights as much as i thought they would. They haven't sent out review samples to as many channels and they don't sell through Adorama it appears. I want these guys to do well and grow but it seems no one knows about their lights which are highly competitive to others on the market while being a much smaller company.

    I will say while the color is pretty impressive, the build quality of at iFootage leaves something to be desired. I had one of their smaller lights and was turn off by the build quality, Non intuitiveness of the controls and awful on/off switch. The amaran is just quicker and easier to use in most cases.

    Bummer that the 200BNA housing is plastic. The metal housing was the major selling point on the 320DN and 60DN. Do want a bicolor light around 200w, but don’t know that I want a plastic one. Would pay more for metal. Interesting.

      I don't know how well it will hold up, but just be careful putting bigger light modifiers on that Bowens mount.

    • @billmakesmovies
      @billmakesmovies 4 місяці тому

      @@curtisjudd I just checked my 60DN and 320DN. They both have metal side walls, but the fan grates, rear panels, and bowens mounts are a plastic material. I've been pretty hard on mine over the last two years or so, and can say I'd trust the plastic bowens mount to hold lanterns just fine. If the 200DNA is the same build, then it's good to go. Not as rugged as an old Mole Richardson, or an ARRI, but good enough for casual use and in studio. Cheers.

    Love iFootage, have their big tripod and a Monopod, both amazing quality and value. And quite a good start into a new, very crowded market.
    But they will have to fill out their ecosystem to at least somewhat match Aputure/Amaran AND bring their usual level of quality (PLASTIC YOKE? WTF!).
    Then i will happily buy into their system.

    Why would anyone use c stands for lights? They are not stable because they cannot extend their base much, they cannot get very high, they are very heavy for their load bearing and height capability, the boom is too small for a light. Manfrotto make very good affordable light stands and even a high end Walimex that costs a little lrss is superior to a c stand.

      @@curtisjudd Manfrotto make a full range of dedicated light stands, booms, and accessories. You will find them in the Lighting supports, control, and background solutions catalog, and in the cine support catalog. For low heights and portable application, they have the 1005bac model. Tripod design, so it holds the bar in two places, adjustable symmetric base, very fast setup, very low weight and does everything one may need in a low ceiling situation. They have direct equivalents to the c stand that do a better job with lights but with steel and aluminum option, wheels, etc and also versions for high heights and weights.
