Hello,
I’m an international transfer student who is looking to apply to college in the USA. I started university in England fall 2018 and hoping to transfer for the spring semester. How do I submit unofficial transcripts while I’m currently attending my university? Also can you go over everything an international transfer student has to submit to US colleges after only one semester of college.
My counselor printed my transcript and said "HERE YOU GO!" The transcript is labeled OFFICIAL but one of my fellow classmates told me if the counselor didn't sign it, stamp it, and put it into a school envelope (which he didn't) that it wouldn't be considered OFFICIAL 😑. Should I use my own envelope and mail it myself? And if so how?
Dear Kennedy, I am SO sorry that I have only just now seen this comment from you. :( . I am not at all sure where it has been, since I reply to kids here right away. Your friend is/was right, so you should ask each college how to handle sending the transcript. I hope this all sorted itself out for you! Again, my apologies for the epic YT fail on not sending me your comment until today. xo

Hi, so my deadline for my college application is TODAY. However, the common app site is giving my counselor a bit of trouble to send my official transcript, So she just gave it to me instead to self report it. While reading through your comment section, i came to the realization that i need my official transcript to be enviloped and stamped by my school before i mail it. I dont know what to do!
Should i just email it to my chosen colleges, the official transcripts are already stamped by my school. But im still not sure if they will accept it, please lend me your advice.
annabella thompson Hi Annabella! Don't worry. Colleges are very kind and they understand administrative difficulties, especially those beyond your control. Simply call each college and ask them what they would like you to do, since your counselor has passed this task on to you, Frodo. You can offer to photograph the transcript and email the picture so they have that while they wait for the official transcript to arrive in the mail. That should work for all people involved, but they will let you know if they have another idea. Let me know if you have any other questions at all. :) Susanna
how many sets of high school transcripts should i send to the college? Shall i send all the transcripts of terminal exams as well or only that of board examination?
Hello! Only one final transcript from each high school attended is needed. Call each college to ask if they would like exam results. Good luck!
Colleges wont know about dual enrollment classes, unless the transcript of the community college is sent to the college or their on the high school transcript? Please answer ASAP👍👍
Hi Giovani! That is correct! Get a copy of your HS transcript and see if the DE classes are on there. If they are not, talk to your school counselor about sending the college transcript to the colleges, and usually you yourself order them directly from the DE college to be sent to all of the colleges you apply to. :)

Hello Janely! Yes, your GED is the equivalent of a high school diploma, so you will need to submit this to your colleges when you apply. Best of luck!
Hi, I already submitted my applications for the colleges I want to get into and I was wondering if I should submit my transcripts now as well (august of my senior year) or wait until next semester to send my transcripts so everything I need is on it. Or should I send them now and later?
Hi Sara! Each college has very different requirements for when and how (and if!) they want to receive your transcript, so you need to check each application carefully and read that part. :)
Once I got my official transcript should I send it or ask the university to send it, since the university stated that the transcript should be send directly to them by the institute.
Hi John! An official transcript, ideally, is always sent directly from the institution that issues the transcript TO the institution that would like to see the transcript, so you should call your colleges and ask about how to do that. Yay, college! Susanna

Hi! You can contact your old school at any time to ask them to send your transcripts. This is very standard for all schools. :)
my guidance counceler gave me the transcripts to send off but the envelopes don't have the college address on them should I put them in another envelope with the address
Hi Gleem! You can use that envelope or put them in another, bigger one and address that. The important thing is not to open/break the seal of an official transcript or it ceases to be official. Address each envelope to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions on each campus. That address is easy to find online. Use your name and a address as the return address. If you need to know how to address envelopes, look online. Yay, college! Susanna

The colleges typically prefer that the transcript is sent officially by your high school, and students do not go into the admissions office at a four year college and ask to have documents read at that time, unless you have some specific question. I'm not sure why you are planning to go to the college? The process is that you submit your application and they review it and get back to you by email or postal mail. :) Susanna
the reason why i drop it off because i took homeschool last year and im now going to college thats why do i have to tell my homeschool to mail iit to them ?
ImVow OK, since you are a homeschool kid, you need to call the college and ask exactly how they would like to receive your documents, since your documents will be different. I still doubt they will want you to bring them in. I have always submitted documents online with my homeschool students, so call each college to which you will apply and ask exactly how they would like you to apply. Follow the directions of each college exactly. :)
ImVow Sorry I just saw this! You need to call the college and ask exactly what they want you to do. You cannot just show up with papers. That's not how we apply to college, so call and ask them exactly what they would like you to do. The college where you go now needs to send official transcripts to the college where you want to go, but nobody accepts transcripts from the student. Official transcripts need to be sent from school to school directly. If you have questions about your case, call the college and ask. You need to call the college! :)

hello! I did my freshman and sophomore (9 and 10) from a different school and junior and senior(11 and 12) from different. I will be giving improvement exam for 12 because I was sick and could have performed much better, plus I'm taking a gap year anyway.
How will I get my transcripts? Will they have new marks and my school will have to make a marksheet with the new data or is it fine if it just sends the marksheets of 11 and 12 separately? Please answer me...

All schools are obligated to do that. If they cannot for any reason, explain that to each college.

how do I send a unofficial transcript?

If the transcript is unofficial the college will usually not accept it. Call them and ask if this is ok. If it is ok, ask them how they would like you to send that. I imagine they will say to mail it, so get the correct address of the person who needs to receive it.

What if you already graduated a couple years before?
Call each college and ask them how they would like to receive your transcript. They will tell you, and then follow those instructions to a T! Take notes on the phone. :)

Hi Jack! If the college requested the transcript pictures via email, then that can be fine. Call them and follow up to ask if the transcripts were received. If they were not, then ask the proper way to send them. While you have them on the phone, ask them when you might be able to expect an admissions decision. Yay college! Susanna
Is it possible to send transcripts electronically as pdf files, since I'm an int'l student??
Sarvasv Arora Hello! You'll need to check with each college and ask but often that works, at least initially. The colleges will want your high school to send official transcripts certainly, so ask when and how. :)
