We did the average touristy, kitsch bus tour of Ireland, 15 years ago, and in a town called Auburn I bought a tin whistle (booklet and CD). A little more than a year later, my wife's physical health dived rapidly, in short, and some time after that we were in a dire financial situation. I took to learning how to play the tin whistle (thanks to book and CD). I have been a musician since childhood, and thankfully it wasn't too difficult to master (- my wife would beg to differ, but let's not dwell on that one). I went busking on the streets of Sydney for seven years with the tin whistle. We're no longer in the difficult financial times that we were. Some of these tunes are the ones that I played on the street. Tough times. Fond memories. Blessings from Australia 🇦🇺

Regards and respect to you all from Australia 🇦🇺.
I liked scrolling through all the comments with people from all over the world how have an affinity with Ireland and a love for the music. I am English with close Irish ancestry currently living in Canada. I relate to the person who said he remembered his grandfather singing these songs with his eyes closed and drifting in perfect peace. For oppressed people throughout the world they will recognize that feeling. Thank you so much for compiling these songs. It feels like Home
I married a beauty from Ballinasloe for close to 40 years. Me and the boys think of her all the time.
I love Irish music. DId not understand why until I got my DNA results. My Dad used to play the piano with the songs and I would sing so thank you for the memories.
Una Finlayson . That name is truly Celtic . Both Irish and Scots.

My mother & 4 grandparents are all from Donegal, I was born in Greenock, Scotland. Die hard rebel & Celtic fan, just wish Davie Arthur & Dubliners, would acknowledge Eric Bogle, a Scot, wrote Green Fields of France
