Much appreciated. You're not alone in the rebuild game. I'd look at US Bank secured cards. They have good options. Capital One is also a staple. Let me know if you need anything
@L-Man-Gaming nope. I said what I said lol. The multipliers on the CSP are weak. It's the only card I know that does 2x on travel, everyone else does 3x. You have to jump through hoops for the online grocery instead of them Just doing a grocery category, And then the business cash you have to keep running to office supply stores to get gift cards.
I see your point. I feel Amex makes you jump through hoops. Chase puts up silly roadblocks, to your point on the grocery category. Online only basically kills it.
The CS on the deposit products is awful. Lock an account if you sneeze too loudly. Then offer no help. They use to at least call you. Now you don't find out the account is locked until you need it.
@@RJFinancialone of my coworkers got a warrant put out for his arrest because he bought a gun with a Chase card and Chase blocked the transaction without telling anyone. Working with them as your bank sounds like hell.
1- yes please do AMEX next! then maybe citi or cap1 (but those are optional). 2- excellent points JR. i hear people say chase is overated, be then why are they so sought after????? i think you point about perspective on where the individual is at in their CC journey is spot on. They basically have a card for everyone, i.e. cashback, travel, business, low AF, high AF, hotel, airline, co-branded, etc. there's something for everyone. so NO, i do not think they are over-rated. but yes i agree with you that they hide important multipliers on their UR cards. but i still like them.
Years ago the Freedom categories being groceries would be great. Now that I have the AAA card, it's meh. Easy to say now, but back then or for someone who doesn't have as many cards it's still good. I'll put Amex on the list. Try not to turn it into a rant lol
Chase personal cards overrated? Starting our third year on the new card Freedom x5 groceries and gas to 12k with the 20,000 ur points for $500 in 3 months. Thats 80K ur points a year before I add the stacking with the flex quarterly catogorys letting me earn to x9. No AF. Groceries and gas is organic spend for most of us. Third year. Last two years it was easy to find public offer. This fall it was in branch. They also had a x10 offer this year but I think without the $500 points spend. Easy to do this offer and others at the same time
Hey, I'm glad it's working for you. I still use my chase cards but not nearly as much as I use to. I feel we've seen other issuers be competitive while chase has sat back
@@billwright2176 CFF? Bruh I’m not a dolphin. CFF is sad version of Citi custom cash. And CFU, citi dbl cash. I assume u transfer ur pts to Hyatt. No other reason to chase (😋) UR pts.
Good call, I thought I was the only one that felt this way. Im burned out with all the Chase jedi mind tricks over credit as if you can't go get other products and be happy.
Was looking at some of my older vids and how Chase heavy my card setup was. I still use those cards and am glad I have them. However, most of them have become situational and not used nearly as much
@RJFinancial So funny, I found myself coming up with great strategies to evolve but then always freezing 🥶 up over that silly 5/24 rule, I recently said to heck with that silly rule( that they break when you deposit alot of 💰) so they say lol

I still like using Chase points to transfer to Southwest to fly from HI to the west coast. I have the Companion Pass so it makes sense for me to use the points for Southwest.
@ CP is the best travel hack in the game. It took some coordinating, but we had it for all of 2024 and 2025. My wife will do the same for 2026 and 2027.
UR points still have utility and value. One of the few things keeping Chase in the mix is how easy and cheap it is to earn UR points compared to MR points.
I agree with you. Chase is way overhyped and overrated. If you separate business and personal cards and only focus on personal cards, the SUBs on personal cards are nothing to rave about. Most $95 AF cards offers similar or better SUBs ranging from $500 to $750, so Chase's SUBs fall right in between. When looking at $0 AF cards, their SUBs are also in line with the rest of the industry, which is typically $200. Again, nothing to rave about.
To your point, the Ink line is where the action is. The CFF 5x grocery offer was a good one. The basic offers aren't much to write home about. Aside from that, not much else
- the CSP has had a SUB as high as 100k URs. The Freedom cards have frequently had subs of 20k URs + 5x on gas or groceries for another 60k URs = 800k URs, which is hella good on a NO AF card.
@@newagain9964 - false. They usually have elevated offers on freedom every year. Plus, with the ink subs, its definitely worth it to pick up some chase cards. Staying under 5/24 & picking up a few cards from other issuers is not that difficult.
Is being overrated necessarily a bad thing? I mean, I only concur because there are numerous types of setups that should be considered whether Chase is part of the equation or not; The beauty of the CC game is that the best strategies can be individually tailored. Not to mention, certain Chase cards may very well be underrated...
It's not all that bad. One draw back is the crowd that has a fear of going over 5/24. That could keep folks from getting better cards or more offers. But, that's up tot them
Seems like they're tightening their approvals now, they're denying people with excellent credit and good banking relationship with them because of low utilization on their cards and having open chase cards even if you're still below 5/24. This is mostly on their business cards, not so sure on the personal cards.
Yeah, they’re overrated and I live near EWR. I’m slowly transitioning to JetBlue and Citi. I’m just gonna do the ink train with P2 in the rare instances united is a deal in a rewards point sense.

I only have the IHG card. Chase is overrated due to customer service IMO, so one card is good enough for offers and extended travel categories.
