Rangers are without two of their star defencemen...and they're 18-4 in 22 games. So imagine when they're back in the line up. They're currently beating Colorado right now....without their 2 best defensive guys....and we all know how good Colorado's been. Matter of fact....if NY wins tonight theyll of swept the season series against colorado

kuzy and jake take this team to a different level. still a team very much built on elite defense. now they have the offense to win a cup too. especially if freddie andersen continues to play the way he has since returning.

When they played you....that was their 3rd game in 4 nights and they didn't have trouba. They still beat you guys. The Rangers right now....they're 19-4-1 without trouba and Lindgren who are their two star defensemen. Imagine when they're back
Its looking like NY might win the president's trophy. I checked out their schedule....the hardest team they face to end their season....is Philly. The other teams are Montreal, NJ, NYI, Arizona, Pittsburgh.
Just an FYI too. NY swept Boston in the season series this year.....swept Colorado....they swept Dallas. They beat the canes in the season series. New York looks like they could legitimately win the cup. They did goto east finals two years ago remember? Canes won the metro that year....which means they had home ice when NY eliminated them.

that was guentzel’s first game with the canes lmao. and he was coming off an injury so not only was that his first game with a new team, it was his first game in a month at all. and he was playing on like the third line. now he’s with aho and jarvis. you seen what they’ve done together? it always takes a minute for a guy to settle in when he gets traded midseason. he’s, uh, done that since.
oh. and that game was the canes’ third in four days too. they clearly didn’t have their best either, so…
referencing one game out of an 82 game season for an argument is already silly. then to do it with all that context left out is pretty asinine. could just as easily say “the canes d*cked down the rags 6-1 WITHOUT kuzy and guentzel” if you wanna play that game.
years past, other teams, the presidents trophy (?? lmao you know that’s a curse if anything right?), i could care less. i hope we do get you in the playoffs now that andersen is back and svech and guentzel are here and healthy.

Definitely not Reimer's fault. Why were the Wings so lackluster? They looked like they all took Quaaludes except Reimer. If not for him, the score would have been even more embarrassing. They are throwing their season away.

Somebody in the Wings' organization needs to stop this recurrent silliness. Who are those players with Wings uniforms from the last 3 weeks and who is that head coach? Since Lalonde doesn't have the guts to being a head coach who knows how to make tje right decisions on those lackluster players, then the Wings need to get somebody who does know. I'll tell you all this much. I really feel for Stevie Y on this. He thought he had the right chemistry for this team going into the last several weeks of the schedule. Lalonde and this current Wings roster, with the exception of a few players, couldn't have given a worse performance for a professional hockey team going down the stretch towards the playoffs. Who really knows why Patrick Kane didn't play tonight? What could Patrick Kane be telling himelf regarding the efforts of several of these lackluster rentals on the Wings who can't play defense at the Midget league level, looks like they're also allergic to handling the puck and would rather have the opposing team handle it. Unbelievable pieces of work that these rentals are, especially after Stevie Y pays them millions of $. Several of these rentals would likely not even be trusted flipping hamburgers. They should, or need i say, better save their millions of $'s from their contract with the Wings, because only a team with no brains would sign these rentals to play pro hockey ever again. How pathetic.

Wow. This Wings team may just be the biggest disappointment this season. A month ago, they were well in a playoff spot. Now it looks as though they won’t be making it for years to come.

Игра показала, что на данный момент Каролина и Детройт команды разного уровня. Каролина в таком состоянии будет одним из главных фаворитов в плей-офф на Востоке, а Детройт с каждой игрой рискует всё больше пролететь мимо плей-офф. Хотя непопадание в плей-офф, возможно, будет даже полезно и заставит Айзермана и Лалонда пересмотреть свои подходы к комплектованию состава. В последний месяц команда просто встала, слаженность действий пропала, в защите страшные дыры, создание угроз воротам соперников даются с трудом. Каролина же все делала быстрее, точнее, слаженней и обдуманней. Отсюда и закономерный результат.

Issue I have is SY last summer spent too early on free agents. This team was not ready for the playoffs, but signing the likes of Petry and Holl were supposed to change things?
We will be drafting 15th and still will be able not to add elite forwards.

I wish the winning streak would have been at the end of the season. That would create positive hope going into the summer. Instead, a great February only raised expectations to unrealistic heights, where anything short of the playoffs will be a horrendous outcome, rather that simply what we should expect with the current roster. Before the season began no-one expected Detroit to make the playoffs. I just wish we all could remember that for perspective.

There are few former Chicago Blackhawks in this game on both teams (DeBrincat & Kane for Detroit & Teravainen for Carolina, at least).
Ураганы просто смяли Крыльев в первом периоде. И только вратарь держался до последнего. Со второго периода Крылья сломались. Они даже не прессинговали Каролину в их зоне. Давали спокойно начинать атаки. Кузя выдал прекрасный пас. Вашингтон хоть и проиграл Торонто, но Детройт остался там же где и был. Матч - заглядение.

Кузя выдал классный пас. А вот ему в такой же ситуации не отдали на пустые, и момент был запорот.

The Wings continue to play bad fundamental hockey. Check out Jeff Petry leaving his man wide open in the first goal. He should have left the forward to the back-checker. That stuff gets coached to 11-12 year olds.
First goal was Rasmussens fault. He didn't cover the right guy. Him an Petry were supposed to switch off. Petry did, rass did not.

He always was dude. He just had blood clot issues so he wasn't playing for a while. However Andersen's getting up there in age...so eventually his stats are going to start going down.

I don't think Carolina will be in the finals. The Rangers look goddamn scary. They're missing 2 of their star defencemen...and they're keeping up with Colorado still right now. They're playing each other. Colorado hasn't beat NY this year. Meanwhile Colorado's been dominating the league. NY is 18-4 in 22 games without two of their star defencemen....so imagine when they're back in the line up lol.

I have always believed that shots on goal could be the most worthless stat in sports...how many times have we seen teams being outshot badly and still win...but in this case it seems Detroit, except for their goalie, didn't even show up for this one...playoff team? Not right now and their loyal fans deserve much better.
There's no other way to put it. The Wings are straight trash. The sheer ineptitude they've shown since the beginning of March is almost unwatchable. There's going to be some serious questions this off-season.
Poorly constructed team was punching way above its weight going back to the start of December. It comes crashing back to earth now… should have been earlier but it was going to eventually.

Only 1 shot on goal in the first 19 minutes. I'm shocked at the mental state this team is in. A part of the team has to be replaced, otherwise we will see the same form again in the new season.

If you think Yzerman is the problem, you are incredibly immature in thought. Nobody is capable of perfection and one small mistake could be a major difference. Maybe changing the HC fixes things. maybe the team is still on its way to being a cup contender in the future, they're just behind schedule until Raymond and some other young guns mature and find their game. Is Steve Yzerman "RESPONSIBLE" for this mess? Of course, that's his job, but to say he is in "reproach" territory is absolutely silly, given his track record.

@workshoptelescope people who def3nd Yzerman aren't saying he doesn't make mistakes, we're sating that we acknowledge that he is human but the positives of having him in that role greatly outweigh the negatives and we expect the right decision to be made sooner rather than later. The play was onside because even though Martinook pushed the puck over the blue line, he didn't keep possession of it and waited to touch it again until after Kuznetsov tagged up
