Absolutely love that you did a base in this video. I really really appreciate you doing that. Basing for some reason has been a fairly difficult enigma for me. I wish you would do more basing videos, even if they are simple. Thank you.
Does the Warlord Introduction starter guide make colour suggestion for Army painter or is it a mix of brands throughout the guide? Which colour from AP would be similar to Vallejo German Field Grey?
@HeadHunterSix I do have that colour in the old warpaints, but they've dropped that colour in the new fanatic line. Not sure what I'll replace it with in the new fanatic range 🤔
@@TheCartoonHead Same here. I just picked up several Fanatic colors (mainly as in this tutorial) but yeah, I'd really like a Field Grey analog in the new range. 😐
It's kind of roundabout and I don't know how exact a match it will be, but since Citadel Stormvermin Fur is the closest match to Warpaints Field Grey... the closest Fanatic match to Stormvermin Fur is Dusty Skull. That's not to imply that Dusty Skull will match Field Grey too closely, but it's as close as it's going to get at the moment. Stormvermin Fur is a pretty close match to the old Warpaints Field Grey, it's just a bit darker grey with a little less green. I'll try to pick up a bottle soon and give them a side-by-side comparison.
@@HeadHunterSix Dusty Skull is very close in tone, but the hue is very different. You could maybe push it towards the green with the Military or green shader, but I'm thinking Grey Castle might be a closer match after a wash? I'm going to send an email to Army Painter and request some of the older colours back as they don't have enough of the darker colours anymore. In the meantime I plan to pick up some AK or Vallejo Field greys & similar military colours just for simplicity. Regards, Cartoon Head.
Whenever new painters I know ask about youtube, I direct them to you. You're the best for having realistic, easy to learn techniques

Are you using the old Vallejo paints from bottles with white labels and caps or the new formula from bottles with black labels and caps?
Black primer, never!!
It did seem a strange suggestion, when even grey primer is right there...!

Would you believe... Field Grey? 😉
I'm not certain what the match is in the Fanatic line, though.
