Ok that’s a nasa/JPL lab/Huston/Huntsville, space race promotional item they gave away in the 70’s & it’s part of the USA/USSR space race, guess it was to help gin up support for funding after we already went to the moon, we were ina recession & manufactured energy crisis, cash was tight so of course they messed up & used a bunch a money to give away a bunch a cheap crap, like that sewing kit, super thin windbreakers, coffee mugs etc, I remember a school event at the auditorium where we all got these space race peechee folders full of junk that all broke walking on the way home

maybe someone can confirm, but on pc you can left click and hold it down on the video itself and it'll play at 2x speed and i don't think it affects anything in regards to our dude getting paid. i also don't think it affects the "most replayed" part either. not that i would notice either way cuz i'm just one dude but it makes sense because even at 2x speed you can understand everything in the ad it just sounds like the part of the radio ad where the dude is busta rhyming all the side effects of whatever drug they're pushing.
i know some advertisers are all up in that "most replayed" to see if people skipped the ad though, i know i would be in their shoes.

When my older brother was learning how to drive we had a 76 Ltd and he lost control of the car took out an entire front porch and the only damage was the front bumper the roof a little bit and the rear deck lid. I remember the four columns flipping up over the car. My dad traded it in a week later for a 78 Ltd station wagon. I loved it. It was huge ànd had a rear facing seat. I envy you!👍👍

In 98 I bought a 73 Chevy Nova 2dr, Custom from the original owner. It had only 60K miles and I paid $500.
I put 100K miles on it and sold it for $3,350 to a neighbors 16 year old kid.
It had factory White bucket seats.
He had it for about a month and had it repainted in Bright Metallic Blue with White racing stripes.
After about another month, he flipped it and totaled it.
I had put Craiger Center Line wheels on it.
It was a Great looking car.
It had an inline 6cyl and a 2spd automatic transmission.

Sorry I'm late to the party; I was afraid you were going to molest that strangely beautiful old '78. Delighted to see that you fixed her up and loved her. My folks had a '72, pretty much the same car less a few fancies like the Hidden Headlights. Loved: Jess w/ her hair down, the Cool Blue Disco shirt and The Night On The Town. Packing the wheel bearings the RIGHT way, although the gloves surprised me. Attempting a "squeal" from the tires. (LOL! By the time you tuned that 400M to "sort of" quit pinging on acceleration, it was too timing-delayed to get out of it's own way.) OTOH that beast will last as long as you can afford to put gas in it. Oh and one warning to you: the headlight switch on those, as they aged, would develop a nasty habit of dropping ALL the lights at random. The failure was the plastic switch box cracking from heat. I don't think Ford recalled it, but it was a well known issue "back in the day".

Great move applying the fluid film. That stuff works great. If you want a thicker film try wool wax or surface shield. I do my vehicles every fall with wool wax and I use fluid film on the bottom of the doors because it's a little bit thinner. Fluid film will also creep for months after you spray it. I live outside Buffalo so it's a must for cars around these parts. Nice car by the way!

My son daily drove a cream puff Chrysler Fifth Avenue with 60K miles on it. It was a good car for him, and we sold it for decent profit last year when he was ready to move on. Land yachts make great daily drivers!

I have a 73 Mercury Cougar xr7 that has 78 thousand miles on it. Sadly the original 351 Cleveland blew and they pulled the drivetrain. I got it after it sat in a barn since 1996 and I’m trying to revive a drivetrain from my uncles old 75 ranchero that is long gone so I can bring the cougar back to life.

50:41 Dalton: not all of us on the West Coast are rust free.. I live on Vancouver Island (off the coast of Washington State). The air is salty, and everything rusts, regardless of in a shop/Garage or outside. Winter Storms are the worst, when you can taste the salt in the air damn near.. Specially when we have a tropical storm that parks itself off shore between us & Alaska, and winds are in an excess of 40 mph with gusts to 80 mph.

Thank you, easy calling that car 50 years old (the tires at least) because along with that car, I was born in 78 as well, and I'll have you know I'm 45, sir, not 50! Man I miss my Nana's 75LTD. I'm SO sad.. again. You're the only person in the world who puts up videos of the ONE car I cry about almost every single day.

I learned to drive in a 1974 Galaxie. Also took it cruising with my pals and gf…
late at night when my parents were asleep. Pushing that huge tank out of the garage alone was quite a task! I had to start it on the street otherwise my parents would notice. And yes, I ran out of gas many times, being 14-16 y.o. I had no money for gas. Ours was fully loaded metallic red, tan vinyl top, tan interior with that awesome “airplane shifter” everyone in my circle still remembers our escapades some 40 years later.
Enjoy that beauty of a car!

Also, the blue tag denotes an officer so the gate guards can salute as you drive up, enlisted had red ones, so I wish you had kept the blue Ft. Leavenworth tag! I was in the Army. The blue lettered bumper tag is also blue for officers, so you might get a salute outta that one, but its' placement makes that iffy.

The look on Jess's face when you're contemplating the El Diablo burger is priceless! On road trips you get really close with people. Sometimes too close. Those smog era 302's are gutless. Like some of the IDI's and other 80's stuff they're so gutless that they live forever though!

    Land Shark Memories
My Grandma and Grandpa had this car-a true Land Shark! They passed it down to my mom and us kids. After my brothers used it and eventually got their own cars, it was mine.
The safest car on the road. You could hit a deer and still be fine. We even measured it once: 17 and a half feet of solid steel. It guzzled a quart of oil every month, but you couldn't help but love it.
The turn signal? Cul-clink... Cu-ckung-you’d hear it from that left-floor relay. And don’t forget the brights button-right by the left foot, of course!
When I went to community college, I’d leave spray paint cans on the hood, and artists would add tasteful graffiti to it. That car wore its stories well. Hard to believe a family of 7 could all fit and go to our favorite pizzaria Momma Mia's on Plymouth Road!

I miss my old 76 LTD. it was less than ten years old when I got it, and it was still going when I sold it twenty years later. It was like driving from your couch. It got me to California and back to Minnesota three times with no problems. It also spent two years driving California freeways on the last trip. I got back to Minnesota through the Halloween Blizzard in 1991.

I picked up a fully loaded 1976 Monte Carlo a few years ago.Similar color (Buckskin) and condition as Dalton's LTD with only 15,000 miles. I found it driving by private residence with a for sale sign in the window. The 74 year old lady selling it said is was her Father's car parked in the garage since 1994. Her 96 year old Mother passed away and she had to sell it.
