I love this choreo. There’s just so many elements to it - from contemporary to popping and they nailed it. To me, Jimin stands out because for one obviously he’s the contemporary dancer of the group but his popping is on another level as well.
This choreo is actually difficult. Requires a lot of core strength. I think Jimin said it was one of the more difficult ones to perform, but he also had to sing high pitch throughout the song
I think what a lot of people forget about when it comes to singing is how often the core is used and the need for stability. Fake Love's choreo has a lot of popping and sudden moves that require complete control of the body that makes breath control difficult and thus singing. Forget about high notes and stability which Jin and Jimin have a lot of in this song. To top it off, Jimin was trained in contemporary dance and is a dancer. Chances are his body knows then moves and wants to do it a certain way that is not possible for a fluid live performance. They were performing Fake Love after 1 or 2 intense songs during concerts so he was already tired. He mentioned that Fake Love is hard but the most challenging part was having enough stamina and control after the previous two songs and that he needed to train to build his stamina.
Fake love is not easy to dance you better try it, your whole body plus the emotion you need to put in able to give justice to this song. BTS said it one of the hardest choreo they have anyway all theyre choreo is hard lol

He did hip hop and other stuff before he learned contemporary. He is a well rounded dancer to me. Love this song and dance. Fake Love isn't as high energy, but it's not easy at all. 😅😅😅 The popping, the change in speed, the way they are hitting beats hidden in the song, the way it's more contemporary and less rigid/structured. Also lots of detailed hand/arm movements and those transitions... for somebody who is not a dancer like me, it's very hard to accomplish and make it look good. 😅😅😅
I'm glad you like this choreography, it definitely verges on performance art. Jimin and J-hope are excellent at floor to standing transitions, Jimin is quite flexible and both move around seemingly effortless. I like how you pointed out what they are wearing. In the dance practices they almost never dress in work out or their stage outfits, and almost always in the clothes they decided to wear for the day, and nobody pulls of casual wear pajamas like V.

That is something I love about bangtan. They are amazing emoting thru the dance and their voice. They are not just super skilled but they draw you in emotionally. Some actas are really good technically but don’t have that emotional depth. I think this is one of the qualities that set them apart

Fake Love on Ellen was...not good imo. Small stage, poor camera work. Always best to find stage performances in Asian or Korean shows, or BigHit footage. 💜
J-Hope once said it's one of their harder and more diffecult dances bc you really have to show the emotions of being hurt in the dance. He said that to a trainee group who did that song
yeah he said that, but he also added that bc this is very emotional dance (the most emotional), you have to convey emotion of "fake love", have to show hurt with every move, he said it is essential. because it is emotionally strong it has a physical impact on body. but for sure it isn't easy choreo.... I remember that Suga said that Idol was hard for him, and then when time for Dionysus come it was hard for all of them (that why they changed later that falling move bc it was too hard on body). They always joke that they are old now so its harder :P

the dance might look simple but i think its the song + the many transitions of the dance makes it hard to perform since they have to do high notes during the chorus in which they pop/spin
I think my favorite part was " this is the most chilled outfit I've seen V in" . My first thought was I guess he didn't watch the Quarantine " Boy with Love" clip. V's in a loose T, I don't even know what you call his pants (haram lounge) and slide slippers. A style he seems to enjoy.
