When the RevOlution was announced in 2005, I was excited with the idea of playing games from the Nes to the Gamecube in a single console. I download lots of VC games during the Wii lifespan's and I don't regret it. I wish Switch had a VC too instead of the Online services.
In all honesty i prefer the online services, id pay to play games online anyway, it just saves me money re buying the VLC games i already bought on Wii and Wii u, its nice to own the old games, but i hate having to pay again on every new system, so NSO is a nice compromise
I remember the used Wii I got back in 2009 had Mario bros 1,3, and the legend of Zelda already loaded on it, so that was pretty nice of the previous owner to do .
The fact that Wii Virtual Console had both Commodore 64 *AND* Nintendo 64 games at the same time in the 2000's was quite interesting. If only the Wii U had Commodore 64 games on its VC...
Except it’s like renting the game instead of owning it. It feels like the anti- virtual console. I personally dislike it. Though, I am out in the country and don’t get WiFi signal every day. You could load a modded Wii with almost any game possible. Why pay an ongoing fee for something that can be taken away at any time?
@@jimjilliker2890I mean, Playstation charges 4 times as much for much less. $20 a year is a steal to have access to all those games. I get your anecdotal issue though, but that's a challenge for anyone with bad internet.
The Wii Virtual Console, what a champion of retro gaming. Shoutouts to it being the only other legitimate way you can play Smash 64 on console (until NSO eventually changes that), it’s based just for that
man, so much memories. I remember in early 2007 when i got my first 5 Virtual Console games. Super Mario Bros, F-Zero, Street Fighter 2, Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario 64. This was my first time i ever downloaded games digitally and my mind was blown.
I bought several Wii virtual console games from 2016-18 and then that Wii broke and I didn't realise until afterwards that the European Wii virtual console releases use the slower pal versions so I always thought mario 64 was a sluggish game until I played the NTSC version and enjoyed it way more
Holy sh*t, I love Virtual Console on Wii especially Earthbound on Wii I love Earthbound on Wii that definitely released and existed and was available digitally before the WiiU!
And now we can’t buy any of the legacy titles on switch and have to pay a subscription service for it even though theirs plenty of games idgaf about lol. I miss the Virtual Console
Funny this segment was uploaded just now, since I remembered I just added some Virtual Console favorites, like Pac-Attack onto my Wii Menu via mods.

The Gamepad and keyboard usage would've been great. Eh, at least there's mods, I guess.
When you think about it, it’s nice knowing that Virtual Console kinda lives on with the Switch Online service.

@@jimjilliker2890hey man, I get what you’re saying. I was more so saying that the switch online thing was the closest we got to a virtual console.
True. Sorry. I get passionate about this kinda thing. :) @@themariobroschannel8763

I play my modded wii very often because of the virtual console games.
It's kinda weird how many people like and leave a comment before the video even finishes loading
Well it’s Scott the Woz, so everybody already knows it’s peak.
Tbf we’ve already seen many of these clips already because we’ve rewatched all his videos
Mostly because they want the likes
You gotta get there first to have people notice your comments or else it gets swept under the rug

Virtual Console was the first time I actually played Super Mario RPG outside of the first five minutes on an SNES at library in my cousins hometown.
Watching Scott The Woz makes you forget that a man has needs…

Image the Wii without Donkey Kong Jr. Math.
I don't want to live in that timeline.
Imagine the Wii U without Yoshi’s Cookie oh wait…
@@bhk7898The worst timeline imaginable… which is why it’s the one we live in.
Designing For can attest to that.
Wiiu/ 3ds virtual console was good
It was awesome 😎
Awesome!
Super Mario RPG was the highlight here for me!

The Wii was once a 6 consoles in 1 console

I wish that Wii let's you use game cube controllers with out having to install off the wall software to play wii games
I wish the Virtual Console never left the Switch. It needs to come back on the Switch successor.
6:31 Did Scott...die in the middle of this? It just...stops
I wish Nintendo should just charge us for WII online again and Wii U
It was a virtual reality.
I know I’d ******* lose it too
HELLO SCOTT
