- The best RC car this summer is the one that you are driving and we have been driving the FTX Apache for a year now and it has become one of our favourite cars for a quick RC CAR Fix. This RTR SCT is a great around fun RC car.
It is strong
It is fast
it is beginner friendly
it is easy to drive
It is durable
It is fun
It looks great

Even though I don't own a Short Course Truck (I am a cheap guy) I do love watching them! There is something special about the way they handle! I love seeing the suspension really doing it's work!
They are great fun to drive and have a unique characteristic
In the states we call them short course trucks. At our local track on the carpet we have a good number of 2wd short course trucks. This summer in the parking races there is a 2wd stock short course class and a 4wd short course class. Some of the 4wd short course drivers can get a little out of control.
Should be a laugh ,little race meeting as long you don't miss the race due to having a bash
😂 haha
Can't wait for a popalong with the Talion/Muraco etc lads..... Love watching the flat out power slides ripping the grass up as you go by...
Bring on the summer
Love the vid. Here is some fun info. This vehicle is 90% similar Chassi to the Reely made "New 1/Bad 1" and FS Racing Victory X ( 53692 )
I would be interested in a short course truck race , i have a senton to use . shame Gatwick Raceway closed that would have been ideal.
Yep sounds good, have a Senton, Zorro brushless and a Mojave 6S, would be great to have a day of racing and meeting up with others in the hobby
We will see what we can do
Short course trucks arebone of my favorites. I dont have this one, but am curiously thinking about getting one. I do have a couple of Traxxas Slashes, but my favorite baby in my Losi Super Baja Rey 2.0. Glad to see you guys covering a short course truck for a change 😊
Not had an FTX but I've had a fair experience with Etronixs electrics & they're great value.
Great value products for sure
I actually use mine to race in sct class at local club. Change the shock oil and wheels/tires she's great for a beginner to start learning!
Where do you race your SCT , what shock oil did you change to ?
@@turbod150 depends on the track you are racing on, but basically the oil it comes with is heavy for 'bashing' but on an astro track needs to be lighter oil. Best thing to do is ask other people at your club what oil they have in their SCT. I race with Southend RCCC very good club lots of friendly helpful guys!
Yes please, would be very interested in a short course race day, currently running a tekno 410.20 short course and the Ftx apache
I got myself an Apache yesterday morning and broke it within two and a half hours🤣 I snapped the right rear stub axle where the pin for the wheel hex goes, which is what you guys did about 10 months ago. APart from that I love the truck. Well, the sterring servo is a bit too slow so I swapped it out with an Etronix ET2035, and changed the radio gear to a Flysky NOble receiver, and it's way more responsive. I only ran mine on 2S but it was still pretty qucik, should be racing it locally on the 12th May😁😁
Great truck and I love your show. I have never been able to wheelie it. I use the stock battery. Would changing the battery to one with a higher c value work?
If you're anywhere near the East Midlands then we've got a guest class for the short course and stadium trucks running at our 1/10 off road regionals. The final race of the season at West Bridgford will be on grass!!
Looking forward to hearing about the next track news!
I would be on for popping along with my Senton. Depends upon where and when though!
Good to know
Hope to sort something this summer
Don't forget to run it against arrma senton 3s.
Will do
Yea please! Tell us when and where! That would be a great fun day.
Im looking at getting the Team Associated SC10 Pro 4. Iv heard they are also brilliant value at £300 in the uk. Centre diff, Sway bars and about 44mph out the box on 3s. Id love you guys to review one of these.
Maybe one day
This is the RC that got me back into the hobby and bought mine using your original discount code. Mine like yours has been used and abused and not broken anything. I just upgraded the motor/ esc for that cogging issue. Looking forward to the upgrades coming out. Thanks guys 👍
yes yes yes i have a short course truck and I am down to race 😁 will make a change from street and BMX track bashing 👍
I would bring my ftx zorro along for a race sounds like fun 👍🏻
We have other plans for you hahahaha
From watching that video on the intro it looks like it could do with some heavier shock oil in the front. Those front wheels where bouncing a good bit. I do enjoy this channel, you guys make a great team.
I’d love to need to be able to cross it off of my bucket list I could bring my Losi 22s and my AE Gold pan.
i’ve just ordered mine 👍 thanks for the discount code 👍
Defo a Short Course truck. Trophy trucks are very different.
UDR, Baja Rey, and Super Baja Rey are more trophy truck. The long travel straight axle rear suspension is the main difference to me. Actually don't know if a real truck with independent rear suspension.
Not bad at all, good driving 😎
Cheers buddy
great video guys!
Hi, Include us in any short course races, Mojave 4s, Losi Baja Rey, (Losi LaserNut?). Also have some of the bigger stuff Mojave 6s, Super Baja Rey, Super Rock Ray....
I have a Zorro and would love to race you . When are you next at the Sundon bash?
Hi guys. If you need a location for for a trophy truck race we have a new club in baldock. Grass track with a bit of concrete and jumps. I race at the Stevenage indoor raceway on a Thursday. We are open every weekend for club practice and race once a month as an event. Contact Shaun at SC models if interested. Thanks mark.
I'd be up for a race with these! Would the Rokatan also be allowed to compete?
I’d be interested. I’ve got an arrma senton 3s and a traxxas slash
Are the front and rear shock towers interchangeable?also do you reckon a dr8 motor and escape will fit am making a street drag car n want some xtra punch.lol.gr8 channel guys.
Cheers for letting me have a go. Proud I did not hit the apex....at all. 😂
You are welcome
Nah the Rlaarlo Omni is stronger, centerdiff etc and at least 100 dollar cheaper. So that whould be a better pick
Fair point the OMni is a great choice
Omni wouldn't take those turns at that speed. It's a good little truck but it loves to traction roll when there's any grip. Even extra slow turns on grass usually send mine turtle.
@@boduke9428 set it up a bit better. It should be pretty quick
@@FrankvdBerg what would you suggest changing setup wise to prevent this? Assume ours came from the factory identically and I've not a much as turned a pre load adjuster. Just put batteries in and ran it. I
I feel it's simply a symptom of being such a small truck combined with tires that have a lot of side bite and a relatively high cog.
@@boduke9428 i havent tried, its still in the box 🤣 But setting the droop a bit better and tweaking it a bit should work. Iam on hollidays but as i get back i will give it a rip on out forrest track.
We race 2wd 540 powered SCT at our local outdoor carpet track in St Ives , Sydney , Australia .
I do suspect that there's an unofficial competition to see who can do this the cheapest ...
Just purchased one and blew it by chucking in ball-bearings to replace the bushes in the wheels ( $20 ) ; so I lose .
Hahaha
