More than you could know!
Your commentary is like a friend is narrating the show in a bar after having a couple of shots, and I love it :)
Seriously, the flow from 16:47 to 16:58 is very real
I couldn't believe it when I slapped the track on. Seemless flow.
It's disturbing how easy it is to make a rap battle.
They make it too easy. I was hearing music when they started flowing first time watching the scene. Had to try, and couldn't believe how well it worked.
Everyone is raving the show but im glad someone is pointing out the non-fun mediocre story telling.
Just reporting what I see haha :D
These edits and cutting are pure gold
Thank you! This is what most of my time goes into, so thanks for noticing :')
"Membeh?" (I think thats whats being said) I lose it every time I hear that xD
The ending was just... *chef's kiss*
If only HBO would pay you for this idea, and give us one hour of rap battle between characters😄
Also, very clever remembering that prince/princess that was promised part from GoT🤩
Thanks! Yeah it was crazy how the flow of the argument just slid right in with the music. I seriously only cut it at two places, the rest is pure flow from the actors xD
@@CultureVultureMedia1 I wonder if they intentionally say the dialogues like that...kinda like in a flow. I have found GoT and now HotD dialogues spoken a bit different...all historic dramas do that i think. It is similar to how hindi is spoken...with a beat to it(it is called लय , lay in hindi).
@@vandanacasm right, with a bit of melody to it, I guess you’re right. Never thought about that :D
i was dying at the judging some boys edit, keep it up!
Thanks Jonas, glad you liked that one :D
bro you are so so underrated
Thank you, much appreciated! See if I can make it to overrated one day :P
@@CultureVultureMedia1 remember me when you get overrated ☺️
Now this is high quality entertainment. Binge watched almost all of your videos. Great Comedy, really enjoy the way you analyze things and are not afraid to spit the facts. I hope you keep up the good work. :)
One criticism, but it's been repeated so often I let the fact people believe it slide; People did not marry *YOUNG* like creeplord Martin propogates. While couples could be assigned to one another young, they typically only actually consumated their marriages in their middle 20s or so. I know one group of nobles (from Spain or Italy, I forget who) actually did do the super young thing.
Though crazy age gaps did exist, the fact that literal children would be married is quite rare in actuality in medieval Europe.
keeps getting better and better
I’m leaning in to this especially in now for episode 5. Nothing has any consequences until suddenly all hell breaks lose over nothing xD
The show clearly is missing something.... And i am not talking only about the legendary dialog Gorge Martin write. Heyy but atleast we got afro valeryions .. Yey i suppose.
You my man.. you never fail to make my day.. great job !
It can't be adultery. She wasn't married.
I don't know what I'm talking about 8)
Top shelf stuff.. great job !
Thanks a lot! Glad you liked it :D
@@CultureVultureMedia1 Vid is high quality.. you never dissapoint ! Keep up !

Bruh the rap slaps 💀
Glad you liked it ;)
best rap battle ever
Glad you liked it :D
Your shit is seriously underrated
Thanks János :D
but if it was otto who sent his daughter to get into viserys's bed so that his family would have more power knowing that rhaenyra was going to become the heiress to the throne otto himself was the one who put his daughter alicent in that position that's why rhaenyra has to defend against them
Very manipulative. Quite harsh to berate his daughter like that when he created that situation himself.
This is quickly heading into Cinemasins territory.
The time jumps are getting very annoying.
Rhaynera dressed as a hipster boy was so out of place.
And Daemon took her to that play to put doubts in her head... That look... Then when he removed her hipster beanie to reveal her...
Ahh man, I really *want* to like this show. But I keep finding myself going back to season 1 GoT
Great video though! 😁👍
Thanks! Tbh, I was kind of annoyed at how you could totally see her white hair coming out of the beanie anyway haha. Not a great disguise.
objective a lost had me rolling on the sofa laughing. a nod to all the overwatch easter eggs i fucking love it. gonna capture a few objectives after i finish that video
p.s.
the viserys rap💀
Glad you liked these references :D
Dude these edits funny shit🤣🤣
This was a better episode of the show but next one beats it by a mile
Thanks, glad you liked it :)
Yeah!🎉
Eyy, I made it into the video!
Rhaenyra has to F the only knight in the kingdom who cares what woman he F... all men in the show do not give two F about who they laid with... but hey Rhaenyra's boy toy falls in love and then becomes a sore loser...
Yaaaassss
Going to miss the young actors
Next episode has the same cast
Which one's been your favorite?
First couple episodes I liked Deamon but I think they ruined his character at the end of episode 3 in the Crab feeder battle.
In episode 5 Alicent was the most memorable character
I have to say it was jarring to see how fast Laena went from that cute, wide-eyed piece of precious-ness into basically a femme fatale straight-up proposing Daemon. =')
@@mokarokas-1727 yeah, it’s only 3 years later xD
I have an extended joke about that coming up for Ep 5, surprise surprise
Ffffff yeah 🎉 🎉🎉!!
perfect, i member
🎉🎉🎉
Great video. Can someone explain the "you're racist" joke?
Thank you, glad you liked it :)
The joke is a comment on when questions regarding potential inconsistencies are being asked, and how some people out there want you to just lap it up and stop asking such questions.
What upsets me is how little the writers of the show know about real world history and thus are unable to use it to create interesting analogies for the show.
King Viserys could be a far more interesting character if his issue with his brother Daemon was about the latter’s inability to comprehend what is their role in the realm. Daemon is selfish and unworthy, he only thinks about his right to be the king as the sole remaining male in the family (beyond the king and baby Aegon). Viserys could point out that he should be thinking less about his “right” and more about his duty. Yes, duty to his subjects, to their well-being and so on. To serve them well, much as they serve the royal family. To ensure that justice and taxation is fair. Furthermore, Daemon has failed to provide a male heir as well, not even living with his wife or functioning as a role model to his subjects. If he had a happy life, respecting and loving his wife, with plenty of children, and living as a honorable man, he would be a worthy heir. The king could cite all of that as reasons to why he has avoided naming Daemon his heir, instead of the show wasting time with him being upset because Daemon is a “bad boy who once and a while departs because he’s upset.”
In fact, Daemon’s selfishness and unworthiness could also be applied to the equally insufferable Rhaenyra. The show could have shown Viserys asking her whether she read books X and Y, and she could have answers that no, that she found them boring and that she sees no point in learning history. Viserys could then warn her that reading books, especially history books, allows us to learn with what other people did right and wrong, and where they succeeded or failed, and how to work to become another Aegon I and not a Maegor I. Her inability to pay attention to his (correct and valuable) advice could serve to strengthen in him the doubts about whether she should be the heir indeed, instead of baby Aegon.
All that I mentioned would make the whole drama much more interesting, instead of being about “selfish and immature bad boy” and “spoiled princess who think people dislike her for being a woman.” Even Viserys would be more respected by the audience, instead of being seen as weak buffon.
Ugh. The writers are incompetents but I also blame the audience for seeing the show’s plot and writing as excellent, when they aren’t.
Welp viserys is remembered as a weak king anyway in the books so he’s living up to his character and the main conflict of this story doesn’t revolve around him and daemon, this is all just a set up. Not like the show is bad, if you nitpick everything you see then everything will be unwatchable
As much as I agree with you, I will not stand by you calling the writers "incompetent". They're good, just not excellent as you'd wish. There are degrees between incompetent and genius, you know. :D
I think a big missing piece here is nuance. Had they just added a bit of that here and there instead of, I don’t know, 30s pauses mid-sentence every time somebody speaks, they could’ve prevented so many of these issues.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
some cinemasins level criticisms going on here smh
I have to be with the show on this one, the bully needed to die and the kid needed to do the kill, that is how school shootings are a reality, if it happens like that in modern day America, in medieval times more so...
Not sure it's that simple. It is an audience with the crown princess. Can't just bare steel in front of royalty, let alone commit murder.
@@CultureVultureMedia1 well the guards should have done something, but hey when you have Criston Cole committing murder in the throne room in from of the king of the 7 kingdoms at not consequence, as if Cole was somebody... he said himself he only has his honor to his name... how can he do that and then a noble Valaryom is beheaded for calling Raenyra sons bastards which was true... well it makes no sense, and I am biased because I hate sore losers and there is not bigger sore loser than "Sir Criston Fing Cole" in all of modern media...
@@TheAidenSanders Haha, amen brother!
@@CultureVultureMedia1 right, just because a girl (or in my case a boy) leave you, that doesn't mean you get to ruin their lives and run to their enemies for maximum revenge. It is sad that just because Raenyra when was a young girl rejected him and took away his "virginity" he would hold a grudge with her even to the point of harming her children and help create such family disunity that will cause the most horrific civil war in the history of westeros... seriously when one loves the other person you don't hold them to love you back, you truly love them unconditionally even if they love you back they are free agents and they are free to reject you, because you don't own the people you love, you wouldn't want someone that is coerce into being with you.
@@TheAidenSanders yeah that whole dynamic made no sense at all...
I just think that, since the show is focused on Rhaenyra's war for the throne, it's pretty obvious/expected that female power is going to be a main theme. It's not that big of a deal to complain about every time imo
I have no problem with the theme of female empowerment, or any other theme for that matter. The way they explore this theme, however, is unforgivably shallow. It's all "Rhaenyra bad because woman", without a shred of nuance or reasoning as to why a female ruler would be so bad.
The closest thing we get is the theater play where they suggest a female ruler would be feeble, and even then it's not from any named/recurring characters, just throwaway NPC's.
It's a shame, because GOT did well on this theme, especially with Arya.
@@CultureVultureMedia1 okay! I doubt it if a show ever pointed out that female ruler would be bad. They're trying to say that no female heir sat on the throne in centuries and the realm also choose viserys over rheneys then why viserys choose rhanyra his heir instead of aegon. If you're making reviews then how could u not see it.
Nice editing btw.
@@Noone91875 Thank you :)
I'm not sure I understand your point. Are you saying that I've misunderstood the way the show talks about female empowerment?
There are, of course, the obvious messages and developments, but my problem simply has to do with the show not going deeper into the theme.
This show has so much letfy crap in it, it's hard to see through it and enjoy any of it but there are a couple good moments.... a couple....
What parts of it are "lefty"? The "patriarchy bad" thing? That's just democracy, left AND right. :D
That’s literally how I describe the show to people, “nothing happens with some good moments added to it” x)
@@mokarokas-1727 arr u serious... what parts? Dude it's medieval times and these chicks somehow avoid execution for acting like modern women. Also she complains constantly about being in the lap of literally luxury. They portray marriage as some horrible thing, like first u should go out and whore ur self out, because the show thinks its boring to be wed. Obviously the black characters that are inserted in a house that they weren't in the books. Oh and all the gay characters, lol literally copying GOT, it's like the same character, one of the barathions I forgot name. Anyways there's a lot.
I feel like this chanel is allergic to nuance😔
I'm open to feedback, but as someone who tends to enjoy precisely nuance, like the good half of Game of Thrones, Westworld, etc, I have to keep it real and say that nuance is precisely what House of the Dragon lacks.
The way the themes are portrayed range anywhere from 'on the nose' to 'shoved down our throats'. As a viewer, I constantly feel like I'm being told what to think.
Examples include "we couldn't afford to defend the Stepstones" - "the cost of war is greater", or anytime the idea of a female monarch is discussed.
If there's anything in this comment that contradicts what was said in the video, I'd be happy know so that I can communicate these ideas more clearly going forward :)
Maaaaan was I waiting for this video and it did not disappoint👏🏻
“You’re racist” as an explanation to everything🤌🏻
