Those bagpipes sound great, very mellow sweet sound, are they in A? I play Galician pipes in C but I'm seriously considering getting a set of pipes like yours if i find out where to get them 😅
Thank you, glad you like it 🙂 Yes, it's an A-pipe, you can also switch the drone between A and G. You can get this one from Christian Dreier in Germany, he's a very good bagpipe maker, just the waiting time is a bit long 😅 But sometimes he also has some standard instruments in store. www.dreiers-dudelsackbau.de/inst-kleiner-ma-sack.html
@@Meticus thanks for the information about the pipes, I checked out his site, although I had to rely on my phone's translation 😅 and he seems to have a lot of different interesting pipes. All the good makers have long waiting lists. I will have to get my hands on one of those sets of pipes one of these days. The ones you got first are especially appealing to me because of the warm but not too loud sound, I'm a busker and get plenty of complaints while on the streets because my pipes are a bit too loud sometimes 😅. Keep up the great work , I will keep an eye out for your new videos, I've been a fan of medieval music for quite sometime
@@Rottenheartprod Christian's small medieval A-pipes are very suitable for street music, I have tried myself already 😁 I would be interested to know which pipe you finally choose once you have it 😃 And thanks for watching my videos! 😁

I have heard so, so many bagpipe and Uilleann pipe types, most do not seem to sound well, to me. Like the Spanish, the Swedish or the Lithuanian pipes, they ALL seem to miss something, and their pitch is "weird" to me. I know, taste, right? But Uilleann pipes (which I will not dive further into, as these are a whole different thing, and are "on their own", structurally) and "Hilan' pipes" all sound so full in sound, their general tonal colour (when speaking of the Great Hilan' (Highland(er)) Bagpipe ( or phìob mhòr), it is mostly caused by the drones, adding more fulness to the sound, enriching it. The European (I see Scotland as Scotland, on it's own, as it was meant to be), pipes lack this rich, colourful sound, giving me the impression they were only half done, like a Hilan' bagpipe with one instead of three drones). I heard so many medieval instruments (like the Lute, the Theorbo, the Gnaal, Luc Arbogast, and so, so many more, including ... various bagpipe types. But then there's yours (I am 52, have severe Asperger's, I prefer Black/Death metal but I can enjoy nigh all music but Jazz and German Schlager stuff (taste once more, I cannot say it is bad, it is just not MY thing), music is my life, one could say (yes, I am familiar with many, many instrruments (I play none though: I have too little feeling in my body, and fine motor control is out the door as well making playing music impossible)) which sounds a "bit simplistic", meaning, it is more straight-forward, not as full (or complex) in sound, but that is just to the point, perfect in this way. I rarely can enjoy bagpipes if not like the earlier mentioned Hilan' one with it's full, rich tonal colour, you playing your bagpipe type then: BRILLIANT. And you play it well, sir, that is beyond questioning. Thank you for sharing this to us. Hmmm, I wonder how, say, The Kelly Family's "Who'll come wi me" would sound on this marvel ... . Ah, Theorbo ... . Reminds me of a metal tune played by a man I appreciate as well, musically: "But Theorbo is not a metal instrument!!!" I hear so many say (and this not just with Theorbo, but all that is not or a drum, a guitar, a bass or vocalist): Wrong, even bagpipes (oh HELL yeah) are metal as hell. But, Theorbo: ua-cam.com/video/4LFcNd-psRA/v-deo.html Enjoy (I hope you can).

Hey, thank you very much for you kind words! 🙂 I'm happy that you like the sound of my pipes. Btw, I also cannot hear German Schlager 😂 Seems we have a similar taste in music.
