I don't understand how Steve Kerr letting his team coach themselves and then winning by 40 shows how smart he is. It actually reinforces the stereotype, as you said, that anyone could coach the Warriors and they would be the same great team.

KreyzAim i think Derrick is just saying that for two roster spots they can sign Gelo and Melo on 1 year contracts, then sign Zo on the cheap. That way if Zo doesn't pan out, they don't have to give him franchise player type of money and if the likely scenario that Gelo and Melo aren't good enough, they just don't sign them after the year. The only negative in that from a business standpoint would be that you have two spots taken by two guys who probably won't be anything in the NBA.
If all 3 pan out to be decent-good NBA players, you can't tell me that the Ball brothers wouldn't usher in a new era for the Lakers.

They don't just have potential to be great players that work well together they would be a super marketable pairing that could win games and Championships. When i was young my coach used to let us players coach...he used to say, hey, take a look at this from the other side, and believe me, it´s not easy, we learned to respect coach a lot more, and we hustled more because you did not wanted your team in your face for not putting and effort out there, because when your turn to coach the game came around you could get blasted with...play hard bro? just like you did last time huh?...when round 2 of the tournaments came around we were more driven and more united than before
