This is one of his earlier videos where he didn't bleep out the curse words. Once he blew up, he started censoring them for monetization. Now, he does it for the children and families who listen to his music.
This was the one that blew him up. He had $10 and a half of a cigarette when he wrote it. He borrowed ~$1,200 from his friends and family to promote this video.
This is THE song that started it all
💣 💣 💣
Love You Thomas and Nova and Gang Gang ❣️❣️❣️
Watching Tom grow as an artist over the years has been one of the best journeys in music and art ive ever taken. Nova's videography skills are at the top of the game. Tom's drive & versatility & desire to make a difference are bar none. Will it matter 1000 years from now. I like to think it will. #hog4ever
This is the one that started his blow up. It's pretty cool to watch his growth... and the videos that came out in order after.... it's almost like watching a documentary.... because he responded to the people with the songs he wrote.... helluvit, whiteboy, this house, exposure, everybody hates me, sad rappers, and straight white male to start the way.... his spoken words are really good too.... Tom has become my favorite artist... not because of some gimmicky crap people talk about.... but if you step back and look at the big picture, he truly is an artist, of raw talent and never stops grinding to give his fans more really great art! The fact he makes his own beats and lyrics then builds his sets and the genius skits he makes for marketing.... the dude is a total package... then when you watch his interviews and his lives and he talks about real shit and his life.... he is genuine af... he truly cares about his family and fans.... I appreciate the insane amount of work he pours in for us.
This is after recovering from his breakdown, where he draws his line and informs us the direction of his music, music with a purpose and a message. Other shots at mainstream music are, The Music Industry, Exposure, Sad Rapper. #HOG UK
I'll add those to my list
This the one that got him noticed and went viral overnight...and I grew up on kid rock ,eminem and tupac ..I was like music sucks now then I found tom and HOG and all the good artist he rocks with ...I can breathe again
This video was simple because they did not afford to keep their power on. Their neighbor let them run an extension cord from their garage so they could keep their refrigerator plugged in. They unplugged the fridge to plug in that single red light. Amazing how far they have come.
Tom had hit bottom and had a download from God....literally. He wrote this in a few minutes and barely remembered what he wrote. He became a believer. .
No lies here again in Toms lyrics. Being truthful and real is getting a "dangerous" way to live. Thats why we love Tom and Nova, they dont care and thej keep real. Unique.
Love them so much because of that.
This song is epic.
Much love for all of you.
HOG4ever!!
❤🙏🇪🇦
Yes, Nova shot the video.
This is the beginning.
It’s not the beginning. He had a couple of albums out already. This was 3 years after he posted his first video on UA-cam.
Nah he has albums worth of tracks before this. But this is the one that blew him up
@@theOGnokkyep! And....Wannabe and Wheels Keep Turning are a glimpse of what he’d become.
Thanks for reviewing one of my favourites HOG AUSTRALIA 🇦🇺
This is what started it all for Tom and Nova. Put them on the map, so to say. Didn't have electric so run an extension cord from his neighbors.
Nowdays just about the only music I listen to other than older music is by independent artists like Tom, Home Free and VoicePlay. The last 2 are 2 of the absolute best acapella groups out there.
It snowballed from HERE
Nova shot this video with an electric cord from their neighbor's house.
The Original song that brought us Tom rest is history .. coming together slowly .. 7 yrs ago. .. H.O.G love sister .. 💯❤️✌️🙏
Tom makes his own beats.
Tom was called a racist after this song came out. Some people mistook the intention of the message.
I don't think it was ever an issue having Eminem's cd😊 in fact, he's got a really cool song where he gives eminem his flowers in his song, dear slim. Tom bought the beat from eminem for a 100,000
God bless you 😅btw
Yeah, Eminem has never been an issue with Tom. Em would have said something if it was. Then there's Dear Slim. There is no beef there.
Yes, true that
Nova braids Tom’s hair so if you see braids, Nova shot it 🫶🏻🇨🇦. This was posted 3 years after he started posting videos here. It’s the song right before Castles and as others have mentioned, it’s the song that went viral after he paid to promote it all over social media. Essentially, it’s the song that brought him to where he is now. If you watch his older stuff you’ll notice his lyrics are very different from today. Still excellent songs but different.
If I remember correctly, Tom said he only had 50k subs at the time. It was about 2 years later when I started following him and he hadn't quite reached 2 million.
Definitely in my top 5 from Tom
I was so happy to hear someone calling out these rappers . All facts 🙌
Love this one but I actually love all Tom's and Nova's work...
Yes, his first and Nova did
First what?
It's mainly about the mumble rappers. He wrote this at a time he and Nova were totally broke having to run an extension cord to his neighbor's house to plug in for electricity. Living weekly wondering do they get their meds or eat? He had half a cigarette, went out on the front stoop and wrote this song. Ran back in the house telling Nova "I just wrote the song that will change our lives". He recorded it and Nova filmed it by putting a red cloth over the one light bulb they had. He borrowed from family and friends to get this posted on internet and went viral overnight reaching 1 million views like within a day and grew his fan base to where they are today. That is the Reader's Digest version. Great song and the only one he didn't make the beat for. 🙏🏽✌🏽🤙🏽#HOG
That's an amazing story
This is the 1st viral hit
🤧 🤧 🤧. BLESS YOU 🙏
Thank you ha ha
Tom didn’t get hate for the Em album, but people called him a racist. They (not exactly sure who… maybe hiphop community) thought this song was a jab at black rappers. Tom has said in the past it was about “rappers of a particular content not a particular color” But, bc he was called a racist, he wrote the song White Boy, and again, people called him racist for that. Apparently he was pretty depressed about it for a while. Then he said, Nah forget this… I’m going to show them what I’m really made of… and he wrote This House🔥
Two amazing songs, you should definitely do those in that order. Unfortunately I didn’t know Tom then, I only discovered him in 10/2022. Fighter was my first live drop song! But I’ve read it in the comments a million times, plus interviews with Tom! Great reaction again! #HogFam❤
💯
This , will not change, till after end of days, we are in part of it right now. To many poeple, city's too big , to many ways and to much of everything.
Tom has a wild back story.
I apologize for this long post. I got comment diarrhea (gross symbolism, sorry).
If any of my phrases seem weird, feel free to ask (I am a 65 year old Hispanic American - 2nd gen - and I sometimes use slang from when I was your age, a long, long time ago).
***Personal Opinion on Tom***:
I think part of the anger Tom has towards the corporate music industry is due him buying into the message presented by rappers. He wound up depressed, messed up on alcohol and came close to suicide.
This is also the first song that went viral and triggered how he came up.
See “Dear Rappers”
He couldn’t pay his bills AND was evicted, living on the street until he went back and lived at his mom’s for 9 months, fully disconnected from the world, not even interacting with other humans, contemplating suicide on the daily.
He finally made his way back and has nothing nice to say about the music industry labels or the message they push to the mainstream. He will not compromise and had no choice but to be truly independent. His music is also his therapy for the darkness of the depression and anxiety - that monster never goes away, I know because I’ve tried to kill the one lurking in my shadows.
If you check out “Sober”, you will get Tom’s story. He is an open book and knows that keeping it 💯 helps keep the monster locked down.
His spoken word joints are also good for backstory.
As you react to more of Tom’s tracks, im sure you’ll seen why there are 3 groups of people that listen to Tom’s tracks:
1. The haters. Never gonna change and the #hangovergang will always just wave🖕🏽🖕🏿🖕🏼
2. The people that feel the same way he does and like his message and that he holds the industry accountable: See “Blame The Rappers” ft DAX.
Group 3 includes me and many others - keeping it real af:
3. We are people that have done battle with our own demons, such as alcohol, drugs, other addictions and depression. Many of us have even been close to suicide but we kept hanging on. We still fight our demons but we refuse to give them power over us. While Tom’s music is therapy for him, it’s also a source of strength for us. The thing that gives us the greatest power over the darkness is knowing we are not alone. That is why we are part of the #hangovergang, we will never be alone, there is strength in numbers.
Lastly, some things I’ve learned after flipping the bird to Death 3 times:
*: Life is full of absurdity. When non-critical shit happens (I.e. bought the wrong car part or the car part breaks), treat it is as an absurdity and laugh your ass off at it. That takes all the power away from absurdities. Things like dyslexia are also absurdities (I have it bad but joke about it because, well you know, it’s ABSURD!).
PS: If Life gives you melons, you might be dyslexic.
*: Life is a grand adventure. And, just like any roller coaster, there are scary parts and there are the thrills. All you have to remember is to Hold On Tight and enjoy the ride. Substances like alcohol and drugs don’t enhance the adventure, they will however, muddy the experience.
*: You are not alone. No matter what struggles or challenges you may face, others have been there. There is no shame in the struggle, it’s what makes us stronger, like lifting weights. As we lift more, we get stronger but, there is a time when every weight lifter takes on a little more than they can safely handle and they ask someone to be a spotter, just in case. The only shame in life is when we are trying to “lift” more than we are able, but do not seek help from a spotter. There are lots of people who are willing to serve as a “spotter” when asked.

I wasn’t here with Tom back then. I’m super new. But I have went on a search for everything Tom I could find. 100’s of reaction videos. By the way I’m all subscribed up for you. As long as your showing Tom the love. I’m a fan. I still think your gettin that tat though lol. The man had to be the proverbial caterpillar that went through all the real struggles and pressures to become a butterfly. I count myself as a current member of Hangover gang. H.O.G. Till I die. Tom has a message and I hope to see it get out there any way I can help. Keep up the great Reviews Amie and I hope your channel grows. I watch to the end any Tom video you review. ❤
Thank you!
Tom went from origionally rapping about money, drugs and women to hitting rock bottom. From there he wanted nothing more to do with that side of rap. Now he just focuses on the music.
The more you listen the more you will love! They are all fire or great...nothing mediocre or bad! HOG fam in da house

Ha! I finally remembered what your intro music reminds me of. It's some song off of Black Sabbath's "13" album. Good stuff! You have talent girl. Another wonderful reaction as usual.
Awwwww thank you
Yes Nova did. With an extension cord from the neighbors house and a red light. They had nothing.
He had million view songs before but this one was the first to go viral.
This , one is his first
First what?
Not first but first that got eyes on it big time
Yes, that what ment, lol
@@ResinEssenceByCheri ????
Ok, mods ok
Tom wrote this on their porch while smoking his last cigarette with $10 in his pocket. He was still fighting to get clean and frustrated about where his life and career were going. He says this is the easiest song he ever wrote that it was if God spoke to him. He went inside and told Nova he had just written the song that was going to change their lives. He recorded and shot the video against the garage that night using an extension cord from the neighbors house. He borrowed money from his parents, Brandon to run adds for it. He did take a lot of heat for this song. He was called racist among other things, for it. He followed this up with Helluvit, White Boy and This House. These songs together tell his story of how he used the hate to his advantage.
One hell of a story! ❤
Helluvit, White Boy, and This House would be my next recommendation!!! In that order! 🫶🏼
Everyone beat me to everything so I’ll just say hi! ❤
#HOG4ever💕
You crack me up. Hello right back at ya. 😊😊😊
♥️#HOG
So Tom had several songs before this one but this one was the big one that launched his career. If you want to see some of his early work that is also amazing check out Wannabe, Wheels Keep Turning, Hourglass/Who Am I/"Bout It Trilogy movie/song. #HOG
Please react to the song REJECTS by the band GFBF. It's Tom and Nova when they were in their twenties.
I’d love to see you follow this up with helluvit and exposure. Which were his next songs besides castles (that you already reacted to) This one was the one that went viral and changed his and novas life. The one right before this “hangman” is super powerful though and not many react to it but I think it’s an amazing piece of his story ❤
GOD BLESS YOU, This was the first hit. #HOGFAM #NOVA
This is what Tom and Nova could do in the beginning on a shoestring budget and no power. 😍 Tom tells the story often, how he and Nova had to choose to pay either the rent or buy groceries each month because they couldn't do both. Their electricity was shut off so often he had an extension cord ready to plug into the neighbors garage for the fridge so their food didn't spoil. There were rats living in the walls and roaches in the cabinets where they lived, the situation was grim when he wrote this. One day he was listening to a successful rapper complain about his life and he got angry. Tom took his last 1/2 cigarette out to the front steps to smoke and he doesn't even remember writing the words to this song. They were just there 15 minutes later when the cigarette was finished, like God sent them to him. He ran into the house telling Nova he had just written the song that was going to change their lives. Nova set up to shoot the video while Tom recorded it. He then borrowed $1100 from family and friends to put on a Facebook ad and a couple days later it had over a million views and the rest is history.
I believe he had somewhere between 20-50K subs when this came out. I can't say for sure, I found Tom later. His subs jumped overnight after this song went viral.
The song is 🔥 and I love the beat! #HOG from Texas #NovaRockafeller
That's crazy. They have come a long ways
The Eminem thing listen to "hey slim", and I agree we should not chase the material yea it is nice to have those things but who is going to remember those things about you when you are gone
His first huge hit
I think he talks about how many subs he had on the Roseanne Barr podcast. I don’t remember what he said.
God yes ya on sneeze .. lol
He blew up off this song.
Tom feels differently about Trump now.
Crooked Spoons!
Most people just laughed about the Em album.
That's good to know.
My, death bed I will say, I am so glad I got free from being lib. I glad that God showed me the truth
On my death bed, I'll be smiling and thanking God for receiving me into his kingdom. I love Jesus.
Yes Nova shot it, you have to remember they came up together doing this she didn't do the video thing before Tom too much. Plus they got a lot of better equipment since they made the money.
Requesting you dare to do the mini movie trilogy of "Hour Glass" / "Who I Am" / "Bout It" when early Tom and Brandon had problems. Ty very much if you consider my request. Once you go even further down the rabbit everything will start making sense. Yah it was Nova.. at that moment they had nothing more to lose literally. You said "road to a thousand" it says you are at1.3k I'm confused.. did you pre record days ahead? Like a Tom marathon?
Awesome trio.
I record 5 videos at a time and then edit them over a couple of days. That's why it says road to 1000.
@@Amiekinz4ever your a trooper people love you.
@@williamshortreed7609 awwwww thank you
This is called the Batman Trilogy, lol. I think told Amie about this one, and Wannabe, If I change, Wheels Keep Turning, Way Off, Rolling Stone Act 1, How the West was won Act 2, The Way I Am Eminem Remix, Amie, if you see this, they are all pre Nova. ❤
This was the begining of Tom's career
:)
Please please do Hey You by Nova! It’s her comeback song and middle finger to Def Jam. They dropped her because she would not become a rap version of Brittney Spears.
It's coming!
Subbed, abs watched til the end for your monetization.
Awwwww thank you, that was sweet
There's only 2 problems in life, ones you can solve and ones you can't and you can't worry about either of them.
No no problems for using his Em CD but they called him a racist for it, said he was attacting black rappers.
People love to hate
So to answer a lot of questions you had in this reaction, you should watch White boy but watch the behind the scenes first.
He talks about this song blowing up and the hate for this song and "Helluvit"
Then he got a lot more hate so he responded to white boy with "This House" which is one of his top 5 songs on all of our lists
Yes, leftist lifestyle. That facts not just being mean.
I’m guessing he has told his story somewhere else but. In His recent interview with Rosanne Bar he laid out how he and Nova knew each other and the Timeline of him moving to California to live with Nova and He laid out the whole story in that interview. It was very informative I have never seen as much of the story and timeline in any other videos. I’ve caught bit n pieces in multiple sources vids, comments etc… but never all in one space laid out so well. This was his First big hit. Dear Rappers started it all.
This is a second comment for you Amie because when I watched the first time there was no Rosanne interview yet. Rosanne and her son talk a lot in the podcast but they had pre taped the interview so I just fast fwd in between to get the actual interview. Hope that helps. M
Thank you for the insight
Yeah, the rap songs nowadays has such disturbing lyrics. Im not sure about his likes in the beginning. I started following him after hearing his song "Fake woke" ❤
I've not reacted to that one yet, i need to though :)
@@Amiekinz4ever Can't wait ❤️
It's still on my list 😆 🤣 😂
it was his first one that got him famous to get himself and Nova out of a money hole and sitting on the bones of their ass and nothing in the food cupboard and power been cut off...
See vein Tom can come around on Donald Trump 😉 another good reaction
DAVE....LONG LIVE MEGADETH
I love Megadeth!
if you liked this you should check out exposure
I will :)
I didn't like Trump at first either...lol...
Lol
He didn’t get flak for the Eminem album. He got flak for supposedly “targeting mumble rappers”.
Personally, I heard no such thing. People be reaching hard.
Yeah, people reach hard a lot these days for sure
Have you listen to CANCER TOM MACDONALD.
Not yet, I will soon though
