I was stationed in Fulda Germany 1/11 ACR 88-92. This song definitely makes me think of that time.
This song was meant to commemorate the end of the Berlin Wall; collapse of the Soviet Union, and the reuniting of nations divided between the Allied West and Communist East.
The song is still absolutely beautiful to this day and I hope if I ever have kids I get to share this with them. My parents grew up on Scorpions and I grew up hearing it from them.

This was one of this band's finest performances.

and they make me so proud of the Woman they are and my beautiful Grandchildren'

used to listen when i was young, dont understand much the lyrics but the whistle n whole song has deep impact within soul...
So I've heard this song a thousand times before but never knew the lyrics. But this song was playing in my dreams last night. I woke up and while I as able to identify the song in my head, i couldn't find it because I didn't know the name of the song, the band who played it nor the lyrics to google it. Then, without knowing the lyrics, I tried to play the melody of the chorus in my head and don't ask me how but when the chorus says "Taaake me"... (to the magic of the moment...) I thought the line was "Chaaange of wind".. (tah dah dah...) with that being all I could come up with to try to find this song, I tried my luck and googled "change of wind" and that's how I ended up here. I still don't know why my subconscious would be playing this song even without me knowing the lyrics or even what the song is about, so while I heard it thousands of times before (I was little when it came out), I only listened to it for the first time today.
Wow… yeah sometimes those things happen. Pretty fascinating how our subconscious works, right?

I' ve taken the. river cruise on the Moscow River, saw Gorki Park along the river, saw young Russian soldiers swimming in the river near the large sports stadium, saw the statue of Peter the Great on the river. The song is about hope for peace with the Russians, but seems elusive.
