Passend zum Titel des Kongresses stellte Michael Horsch, Geschäftsführer des gleichnamigen Landmaschinenherstellers, die Ernährung in den Mittelpunkt seines Grußwortes. Seiner Meinung nach sind wir auf dem Holzweg, da wir zwar älter werden, aber nicht gesünder. Das liege vor allem an unseren Ernährungsgewohnheiten. Wir würden zu viel Fleisch, Milch und Zucker essen. Eine mehr pflanzliche Ernährung würde in der Landwirtschaft zu vielfältigeren und nachhaltigeren Fruchtfolgen führen und gleichzeitig das Ernährungsproblem auf der Welt lösen.

In his opinion, we are on the wrong track because we are getting older, but not healthier. This is mainly due to our eating habits. We would eat too much meat, milk and sugar. A more plant-based diet would lead to more diverse and sustainable crop rotations in agriculture and at the same time solve the world's food problem.
