HI, garage is still pretty hot since the ceiling is not insulated and just drywall. But the door is about the same temp as the interior of the garage...

Thanks Rudy, another good one! I live in a cold climate and I'm glad you addressed the different orientation of the foil from warm to cold climate. I imagine some folks don't understand and would do it backwards for their climate and then complain to you. Hey one real question. Is there any worry about condensation which could lead to mold?

HI Meat... That's a good question! I did some research and some people say yes it can cause condensation and some people say it helped. One solution would be to leave a couple of holes in the foam.. One in the top and one in the bottom to allow a little air flow. (of course that might make it worse! This is my opinion as something to try based on an attic needing ventilation to avoid mold). I would not do that unless there's a problem. And I would only do it on one section as a test to see if it helps in case there is a problem. *BTW... should I call you meat!!??

@@TheHomeImprovementChannel By all means, please call me Meat. It is a moniker from a bygone era in my life that comes back to haunt me every once in awhile, but it is what my friends and employees call me. I enjoy your channel because you are, obviously, a bright and generous man. No one seems to go through the information as you do so even we rocks can understand. Also, you are a thinking man and I like that because that is the way we will learn to solve problems. As for this specific video, it was just a thought I had because I used to teach everyone that mold is the enemy. Since you probably don't get a huge fluctuation in temperature I think your plan will hold water (so to speak). Luckily my place came with a factory insulated and installed garage door.

I agree with you.. mold is terrible. I used to live in a rental house that the dryer was exhausting directly into an already damp basement... It caused all sort of mold issues down there and the upstairs smelled musty. It was also affecting my health. If I knew then what I know now, I would have insisted the land lord fix the problem. Of course the heat exchanger in the furnace had small holes in it too and it was leaking diesel exhaust into the house but that's a separate issue too! I was glad to get out of that house. Thank you so much for your great feedback and compliments! I really appreciate it. I get trolls sometimes and to me it's better if you don't like something just to move on and be quiet.@@themeat5053

TYSM! The door itself is much cooler on the inside, but the garage is still hot. The ceiling still needs insulation. The builder just left it bare where the garage is. It's on the list!
