You can’t kill them kubotas. Have lots of them! Should have cracked fuel lines for injectors. Other then that good video. Glad to see you saved another one! And thank you for not using death to a diesel in a can!
I bought one of these same engines from the same application (truck apu) and it too ran fine, but it burns oil and smokes. So, it's time for a rebuild, which is most likely why it was removed from service. I would guess the same is true for yours. And btw you can take off the rod that goes from the solenoid to the linkage on the injection pump, the throttle lever is spring loaded in the ON position. So all you have to do is pull lever and hold it for a second to shut it off, and then when you let go of it, it springs back to the on position, ready to start next time
6:26 You should lay some bacon on that starter and fry up some breakfast. Leave one of the injectors removed, and try to get just ONE CYLINDER firing, easier job for the starter.
I have a Mitsubishi mirage, which is basically the spiritual successor to the Geo Metro. Mines racking up miles quick I've been thinking about what I'll do when the dinky little 3 cylinder kicks the bucket. Now I know.
An appropriate sized diesel in that car should deliver up to 70mpg. I routinely get 50 on gas and have seen 58. A three cylinder turbo diesel would be perfect.
I always wondered why it sounded more like a flat 4 than a 2cyl engine and that's because it's crankpin is off set at 180c which makes the firing order uneven.
Hello can you show how to pump fuel with hand on fuel pump? I have en Avant miniloader which is stopping in cold weather, mind it may probably help, but I dont know where this pump is located! I am quite new with it ...thank you anyway
I have one in my garage. You can strip almost all the electrical stuff off. Most of the wires you see are to things like temperature and oil sensors, these dont keep it from running if theres no computer lol
As far as the solenoid goes there's 2 circuits. One is hold and the other is pull. The pull circuit draws too many amps for continuous power and you can take power for that circuit off the motor side of the stater so it only gets power when the stater is cranking. The hold circuit can get any ignition on power source to keep it energized as it only draws about 3 amps. The other wire is your ground which is often Labeled as 'common' There's also the option of removing the solenoid, cut the rod, reinstall to seal it off and use a manual method or solenoid for shut down.
I have a license less car that has one of these, but it has a lombardini engine. The car model is Microcar MGO and it has 1 horsepower. I can reach around 75 kmh, any tips on how to make it faster?
all i know is that you can adjust the rear variator to make it accelerate faster and reach a smaller top speed, or a higher top speed at the cost of slower acceleration
Lombardi I is made by Koehler, I have one in the back yard it’s a 3cylinder 30or36hp runs great. I’m located in NW Indiana if anyone is interested in buying one for cheap.
Yes I can guarantee you it will fit just fine inside any 200cc Chinese enduro. I did it. The top speed with the 14.8HP gas engine and 5 speed transmission was 57mph. For the 13HP Z482 Kubota and type 40 CVT it was 54mph. What a badass machine at well over 200 MPGs. My next bike will be VW TDI powered for sure.

Beautiful engine!
Great video! Fun and informative.

that's a REALLY COLD START and without throttle action too
Hats off to starter

very cool.

Hey would you know where to get a fuel injector for one of these?
where did you find apu engines?
Loved the video man ..raw unlike all those made up everything is perfect videos ..nice motor ..what are you have you done with it ?
Might need another starter after that episode.

Needs an engine heater to warm up the engine before starting.
I have one of these but I havent got a clue on how to wire it

Edit: (I've since sold the tractor)
Btw are you from Michigan? I seen the plate so I thought I'd ask...
Kyle H I am from MI. Grand Rapids to be exact
Where did you find these old APU engines? I'm from Kalamazoo and looked for something like then a year ago without success.

You can reach 75km/h with 1 HP? No way.

TURBODIEZEL
Do yall think this could fit into a bike? Moped preferd for me but any kind of bike in general.
That would be a pretty big, heavy, and slow bike.

That would be nice on a motorcycle
Like the best hahaha
i will buy it for $100
LOL
Dirty injectors.
gonna burn up the valves with no exhaust manifold
